Food was inventive and relatively well prepared. Some dishes that should have been hot did not arrive to the table as warm as they should have been despite a relatively uncrowded restaurant. One server, Frederick, could not have been nicer. Other server seemed rushed, dismissive, and was difficult to understand, although both were kind enough to speak english. We sat near the door, which allowed cold, drafty air when opened. This did not add to the experience. We had a three course lunch, which for the quality of food was a very good value.

Way better than expected! They do deserve their excellent ratings. We were a bit hesitant about a menu that is centered on caviar but actually it was not. The little we had we enjoyed so much that we ended up having an additional caviar tasting which was very enjoyable. The food was fabulous along with the presentation and Jason (?) the server upstairs was really great. Thanks for a memorable 44th anniversary celebration.

This was not a meal but a culinary experience! We had the 7-course meal and a 5-wine pairing. We also sampled some additional caviar and drinks. All I can say is - WOW, this was the meal of a lifetime! The quality of food was absolutely top notch, the selection of plates was intentional and well-thought-out, the staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and always ready to attend to our needs. The atmosphere was perfect. This was an expensive dinner, but both my wife an I found this to be well-worth the cost and will cherish this experience for the rest of our lives. It was an absolutely PERFECT start to our Paris vacation.

We did the 7 courses and overall found the food disappointing. Pros: The caviar tasting and house signature potato dish were excellent. Cons: The monkfish dish was so bad we could not eat it, and we heard other tables near us making similar observations. Beef main course was minuscule.

The service is outstanding. All staff were very attentive and knew the dishes well. One of our party (usually known for his strong constitution) entered weary from travel of the European continent, tired and off colour - Boutary restored him to form (that of an English Lion!) over seven courses - a miracle, or purely the prescription of fine French foods?

The communication with Frederic beforehand ensured our dining experience was seamless. The food is divine and presented uniquely, the wine recommendations perfect and the CAVIAR -- oh the caviar. But the service is what sets this establishment apart. Personal and enthusiastic. The staff's enthusiasm for their dishes infectious. I cannot recommend Boutary enough! the best dinner we had in our 10 days in Paris hands down.

The service and attention to detail took this fine dining experience over the top. Explanations of food prep wine and champagne pairings explained thoroughly made my wife happy because she enjoys her wines. The caviar of the day may, no was, the best spoon of caviar I’ve ever eaten and I’ve had it hundreds of times. Buttery, not salty, and literally melted in our mouths. I don’t even remember pushing the caviar to the roof of my mouth to help with dissipation, it just seemed to dissolve instantly. Do yourselves a favor and book this gem if ever in Paris and big thank you to Jason for helping make our anniversary so memorable

This place absolutely blew us away. I’m a huge foodie and loved everything about this experience. It’s fancy without being pretentious. Very understated decor and was very personal and not cold. I felt comfortable being there in a simple dress and not in something more formal. Every bite of food was divine and our waiter listened to our likes with regards to wine and was extremely attentive. Even took my plate away to keep the food warm when I went to the bathroom! We went all out with the 7 courses but when all was said and done, we had around 10 dishes. Wine selection was great- I usually prefer sweet wines but I drank everything offered, even the dry wines because they were so light and well paired with the food. We felt full without feeling stuffed. Truly 100% the best meal in my entire life, I fully expect to see the chef on food network or to have earned another Michelin star in the future

Boutary provides an exceptional dining experience with creative innovative and vibrant flavors across a 5-course tasting menu filled with amazing combinations of brilliant food. After 3 visits, I’ve found it consistently surprises to the upside with adventures across land & sea, flavors & textures, appetizers and desserts. The wine list also shares these characteristics, and while not cheap, offers good value when mindfully viewed. Most recently, the duck, fish and the desserts impressed my dining partner & I in their intensity and composition. The caviar dollop atop the second course was exquisite as well. The left bank neighborhood is also festive & fun and offered us a nice after dinner walk to reflect upon the dinner and added to the enjoyment of the evening. Merci Boutary - a bientot mes ami!
