The Portuguese Grilled Steak was amazing. We have never eaten anything similar and would love to master the technique ourselves. What a totally pleasurable experience. The ambience, the service, and of course the food were all outstanding. We highly recommend this wonderful iconic restaurant.

A truly memorable evening at Café de São Bento, Cascais. My wife and I enjoyed a wonderfully romantic meal, made all the more special by the excellent, attentive service from our waiter, Gustavo, who struck the perfect balance of warmth and professionalism throughout the evening. We started with the steak tartare—fresh, beautifully prepared, and absolutely delicious. This was followed by their signature steaks, cooked to perfection and full of flavour. Paired with a lovely local red wine, everything came together effortlessly. To finish, a very tasty Negroni rounded off the night perfectly. An elegant, relaxed atmosphere, outstanding food, and exceptional service. A fantastic dining experience and one we’ll be happily talking about for a while. 🍷🥩✨

One of my favorite restaurants, we've been to the Lisbon restaurant three times and wanted to try the Cascais one. We weren't disappointed, it was fabulous, the food was as expected....great, the service five star-second to none and we always love the old world charm of the place, just gorgeous. The staff really are so good at making you feel special and always welcome, they love their restaurant and it shows.

Old school colonial vibe, you have to ring the doorbell bell to get let in, which is so so charming. Excellent food, simple but brilliant. Catered really well for my daughter’s gluten allergy. Service was faultless, a flat champagne dealt with swiftly and efficiently. Steaks were super high quality- exceeding price point. Love this place!

I have been going to Cafe São Bento in Lisbon for years. I wanted to try out the new location in Cascais and it is fantastic. All the waiters are trained to the same, very high level as in Lisbon. The food is 10 out of 10. Everybody in my party thoroughly enjoyed it. I am convinced this is one of the best restaurants in Lisbon.

Best meal best ambiance and more refined beach dining experience. I’m afraid to leave this review because I suspect a long wait to get a table in the future. 1 the shrimp Whoa best in class 2. The steak. I got it Portuguese style I m not a big cream sauce fan 3. The choc cake lives up to its name. When choosing a seat remember outdoor seating carries the risk of some nimrod smoking next to you hand over the fence to be in accordance with local smoking etiquette avoid this by sitting in the air conditioning inside.

Great cocktails. The service was dreadful. We ordered 2 starters and got one. We reordered another one and even though the waiter agreed not to rush us, 2 under cooked steaks appeared soon after. He agreed and said he would take half the cost of the steaks off but still tried to charge a service charge. It was my wife’s birthday and we ended up going home early to drink a bottle of Ruinart and eat some delicacies. Not our choice of restaurant made worse by the view of the council bins right in front of the restaurant. Go to 5 sentidos instead! Always 5/5. R

First time we went there the steaks were cooked to perfection. A week later we went for dinner and the steaks looked like they were poached in boiling water.
