8/10Maybe it was the Olympics or maybe they were understaffed, but we returned to this restaurant because we had an incredible experience the first time, and this time was very disappointing. We ordered the same meals again and the texture and flavor wasn't like the first time. I couldn't even finish my snails and that's never happened. We were sad to drive all the way over there for this experience, but it wasn't like this the first time. Complete 180.

10/10Café Francoeur was a haven on a rainy evening in Paris. We chose to sit inside as it felt cosy, rather than under the covered and overheated outer area. The food was everything we had been craving, after a long month of traveling that had us in restaurants every day, often with very similar menus, not particularly inspired. My husband said his soupe de l’oignon, with the croutons and cheese on top was one of the best he had had in years. He also ate roast lamb with Jerusalem artichokes and a tarte tatin. I enjoyed the warm lentil and bacon salad, with Coquilles St Jacques au natural, mashed potato that was like silk and a crème brûlée. We ate a lot. We enjoyed every bit. We enjoyed our cheerful and helpful waiter and loved the very traditional bistro/café decor. Appprox. €120
