My waiter accidentally spit directly in my eye and I'm still giving this place 5 stars. Directly into my eye ball, and i was wearing glasses. It was such a freak occurrence. He was mortified, I was shocked it even happened an we moved on. Food was absolutely phenomenal, everyone seemed lovely, space was cute. Would return.

The food was wonderful, The ambiance also great. While the server was also very good at her job. I felt that the service itself was rushed. I like to sit and take my time with food and there seemed to be a "burn and churn" mentality to the service.

Overall, we enjoyed our experience at this restaurant. The food was good and the place is charming. However, we felt rushed by the service. The dishes came out too quickly and we would have liked to take more time. The thing that really ruined our experience was this: Once we had finished the bottle of wine and just before dessert, my wife and I asked the waiter for a glass of red wine. When the bill arrived, we realized that each of these two glasses of wine cost 26 euros! (in comparaison the bottle we drank before was 34) We would have appreciated it if the waiter had told us the price per glass or offered us other options, as we would not have chosen it if we had known it was the most expensive. We felt ripped off, which was a shame because up until then we had been having a lovely evening. We complained and were offered a shot of limoncello. So it's a good restaurant, but the service could be improved.

Whole experience was a little rushed. Had the table for 1 1/2 hours but restaurant not at all full but staff explained we had last sitting before the staff break between 6 and 7. Variable service from genuinely wanted feedback and helpful to feeling of being processed. Partridge pie and open omelette with prawns and chocolate cake were the standout dishes. Pulpo with sweet potato not our cup of tea.

We had a very good experience. The food was consistently good and well prepared, and the overall atmosphere was great. Service was also a strong point — our waiter, Ricardo, was particularly friendly, attentive, and professional, which made the meal even more enjoyable. A solid place with good food and good service.

The terrine and the carpaccio were such flavorful bites! All the umami of sweet, salt, and fat in each bite, with crunchy potato sticks in the serving of the carpaccio roll to give it great mouth chew. The sweet breads were also well executed, and to cut all the richness was a simple green salad of lettuce and onions with the best dressing I have had in Portugal! Perfect vinaigrette! I wish I wasn't so full or I would have loved to try a dessert! Will definitely come back here! Service is impeccable! The warm fermented bread to start with a good olive oil was also lovely. Great wines and a staff that goes the extra mile! Open for lunch until 4:30pm, and dinner at 7pm. I will be back! Super nice touches on so many things in the restaurant. Aesthetically pleasing and comfortably inviting.

I visited this restaurant with high expectations, but the experience did not fully live up to them. The space is quite small, with tables placed very close together, which limits privacy. We were given recommendations on what to order, but we chose not to follow them, that was a good decision, as we would have ordered far too much food. The starters were good, although it was noticeable that some items had been prepared in advance, as they arrived already cold. The rest of the food was pleasant but not particularly memorable, and nothing truly stood out. Perhaps we were unlucky with our choices. The wine was very good, but there were issues when opening and serving it, as wax ended up in the glass, had to ask for it to be filtered. While the waiter was friendly and available, he seemed distracted and lacked the level of service expected from a Michelin-recommended restaurant. Overall, I’m glad I tried it, but I don’t think I’ll be returning.

This place is very popular and busy. Make sure to get reservations. We sat at the bar and watched as they prepared some of the dishes. Everything was fresh and nice presentation. Excellent meal for lunch.

Friendly service, delicious food, only thing I would change is that the whole meal took 3 hours when I feel like it could have been done in 2... Maybe that's the New Yorker in me, not able to slow down. Beautiful spot and beautiful food.

We visite Canalha as a family of four and absolutely loved everything about our experience. The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, the service was outstanding, and every dish was full of flavor. It’s rare to find a place that delights both adults and kids equally, but Canalha truly delivered. We’ll definitely be coming back, highly recommended!

Quite problematic from the start. I booked a table in advance yet was seated in the middle of the bar - the only one in the restaurant seated there - totally unacceptable. The food was fine, actually quite good, and service was fine, but as a solo woman this was entirely unacceptable and felt disrespectful.
