This place is very popular and busy. Make sure to get reservations. We sat at the bar and watched as they prepared some of the dishes. Everything was fresh and nice presentation. Excellent meal for lunch.

9.5/10Friendly service, delicious food, only thing I would change is that the whole meal took 3 hours when I feel like it could have been done in 2... Maybe that's the New Yorker in me, not able to slow down. Beautiful spot and beautiful food.

We visite Canalha as a family of four and absolutely loved everything about our experience. The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, the service was outstanding, and every dish was full of flavor. It’s rare to find a place that delights both adults and kids equally, but Canalha truly delivered. We’ll definitely be coming back, highly recommended!

4/10Quite problematic from the start. I booked a table in advance yet was seated in the middle of the bar - the only one in the restaurant seated there - totally unacceptable. The food was fine, actually quite good, and service was fine, but as a solo woman this was entirely unacceptable and felt disrespectful.

8.5/10The food was very good. But I have to say it is overpriced, in particular due to the behaviour of the staff to e.g. select the wine above the limit communicated and to be intransparent with the prices of the fish. The quality is really good, but when you leave you feel a bit ripped off.

10/10This was our third time at Canalha and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the experience. We decided on two smallish appetizers, along with a larger one and a main meat dish, and it was perfect for the four of us. Highly recommend.

7.5/10Watch out for getting scammed on the "fresh seafood" -- everything on menu with prices was reasonable, so we were shocked when one single fresh scarlet shrimp (recommended by waiter) cost €58! And when he suggested a fish and we agreed we got a giant whole fish which cost €78 (about 3 pounds for 2 people). If you go order off the menu that has prices, ignore waiter " suggestion to only get a couple of things off the menu, and a few fresh seafood (no mention of price) And the fresh seafood was NOT any better than things on the menu.

10/10We loved everything about Canalha! Wonderful to find an authentic and modern Lisbon dining experience! We were charmed by the sommelier and so loved his wine recommendation that we followed it up with a visit to the winery! Parabens!!

5.5/10I reserved a seat at the bar, but even there I had to wait a long time for a menu. When I chose my dishes, I had to wait again, and then it turned out they were out of stock. I made another choice. The man behind the counter insistently recommended squid with my choice. I declined. But they brought it anyway. I had to give up my meat, which, by the way, they hadn't even thought about cooking, and eat something I didn't really want so the employee wouldn't have any problems. In the end, this rather mediocre squid turned out to be one of the most expensive dishes on the menu. And yes, my wine, which I ordered right away, was also forgotten. The restaurant has high ratings and they obviously try, it's a shame not everyone does.

2/10This experience was truly infuriating. I ordered 150 grams of "Molejas de borrego alentejano," and the waiter told me the actual weight might be a bit heavier than I ordered. I agreed. But when the bill came, they cooked 330 grams. Holy crap! They doubled the amount I requested! .

5/10Very hectic place, they all are only busy and nothing is with passion. You pay a full fish but get only the half. I visited too many good restaurants where the guest is the core and not turnover.

5/10Service was really long, not a « high class » service at all. Waited 15 minutes for water and when I asked again, never got it. I got bumped into a lot, a fork fell on my back and I got no excuses. The food was….flavorless. Nothing was great. The main dish (a fish) was so stale, it was almost sad. Oh and the server didn’t think to tell us the fish was 141€ (the price wasn’t on the menu because it was a recommandation/catch of the day), but he took his sweet time hyping it up (which it cleary didn’t live up to). Don’t waste your time, there are much better place less cheap.
