8/10The food was great, but it was very hot, even with their AC on. their excuse is that it's very hot outside, but I think they should be prepared for such situations especially when a restaurant is recognised by Michelin!

A modern classic restaurant with a creative menu and fresh ingredients on hand and available for inspection. Recommended to us by a friend who had been there about a year ago. Wait staff very friendly and helpful as you make your menu choices. Squid cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful but sheep butter sauce failed to complement effectively. Sea bass served cold, a bit disappointing as we were the first seating on a Monday and the kitchen was not yet under any real strain. The sauce was too thick and laid a suffocating blanket on a fish that doesn’t require a lot to please the palate. The staff was terrific and that surely makes the experience balanced instead of disappointing. Ordered a Vermouth Bianco, waiter returned a few minutes later to report that it was unavailable. Forgot to take it off the bill. Details, details, details……

6.5/10We had looked forward to dining at Canalha for over a year and hoped it would become one of our regular lunch spots. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. While we were greeted warmly initially, our server rushed us from the moment we sat down, growing visibly impatient when we weren’t ready to order within a minute. Throughout the meal, we felt pressured, our questions about a few dishes unwelcome, judged for our choices, and uncomfortable asking for basic things like to-go boxes (which became necessary since we were rushed to leave the table before finishing our meal). She even argued with us at the request. The server rolled her eyes several times throughout her interactions with us. Items we ordered never arrived, yet we were charged for them. To top it off, we were told to leave to make room for other guests, even though a few tables were open. We never write negative reviews, but this experience felt more stressful than enjoyable; w/o the opportunity to savor the food.

Food was nice, but not amazing. Waitress made the experience really underwhelming and unenjoyable. Was also sat at a table that was right next to another, who also received better service than us. Quite disappointed, and definitely not worth it for the price.

The food had a unique taste. The fish was very nice but there were some dishes that might need a refined tongue to fully enjoy them. The servers we had were nice - the Sommelier was outstandingly great.

5.5/10The best part about the meal with the bread and olives. The onion and lettuce salad at first tasted like it needed salt. But as I continued to eat it, I got mouthfuls of salt, so much so that the rest of the salad was unedible. The pork had gristle in it that I tried discreetly to spit out. The piperade sauce amounted to a brunoise of the ingredients, the flavor was not developed, and there was nothing saucy about it. And finally, they were out of the red wine that I ordered, which seems like poor inventory management to me. This is probably the worst meal I’ve had in Lisbon so far.

The tuna tartare with rice and a quail egg was totally unique and flavorful. The squid was tender with a light chive studded sauce. The shrimp and pasta had a tasty contrast of flavors and textures. The staff was gracious and welcoming.

10/10This restaurant was a little off the beaten path which we enjoyed. We needed some guidance with the menu and our server pointed us to some amazing dishes - we particularly enjoyed the squid in butter sauce and the pork. The place had top notch food and a down to earth vibe.

7.5/10Service was much too quick. Our four shared dishes came so quickly that we were forced to figure out how to manage the plates in a limited space, and to eat the hot dishes first. We ordered dessert to extend our dinner out and still were there for just 1 hour and 15 minutes. The food was good—not exceptional—but the rushed meal resulted in a disappointing experience. I expected better.

The food was *chef’s kiss* (looking at you squid and desserts) Very cool and chill place but with a touch of class and fine-dining. You don’t get bullshit plates here - the main ingredients are in your plate in plain sight, modest but perfectly cooked. Will return 1000%.

6/10Stylish take on a traditional Portuguese fish restaurant. The food was great. The room is nice. The lights could’ve been dimmer. My issue as a single person eating there I was encouraged to order way more than I needed to. The waiter felt more like a used car salesman than someone interested in my having a good meal and night at hot restaurant. Waitstaff are supposed to guide you through your meal not just to encourage you to have a bigger bill. Point in case: some of the larger appetizers are indeed main courses. I know this because after being convinced to order three small plates, a main two side( fish because it’s a fish restaurant!) the Portuguese guy who came and sat next to me, had one plate: steak frite (?) and a beer, I didn’t see the waiter telling him that: oh don’t order that you should have 5 more courses. It made me feel ripped off and unwelcome. Oh you know those gullible stupid tourist they can afford it. I wouldn’t go back.
