This experience was truly infuriating. I ordered 150 grams of "Molejas de borrego alentejano," and the waiter told me the actual weight might be a bit heavier than I ordered. I agreed. But when the bill came, they cooked 330 grams. Holy crap! They doubled the amount I requested! .

5/10Very hectic place, they all are only busy and nothing is with passion. You pay a full fish but get only the half. I visited too many good restaurants where the guest is the core and not turnover.

5/10Service was really long, not a « high class » service at all. Waited 15 minutes for water and when I asked again, never got it. I got bumped into a lot, a fork fell on my back and I got no excuses. The food was….flavorless. Nothing was great. The main dish (a fish) was so stale, it was almost sad. Oh and the server didn’t think to tell us the fish was 141€ (the price wasn’t on the menu because it was a recommandation/catch of the day), but he took his sweet time hyping it up (which it cleary didn’t live up to). Don’t waste your time, there are much better place less cheap.

10/10Impeccable ingredients prepared to enhance their natural flavors. Service is friendly, knowledgeable and very professional. Çanalha is one of the finest dining experiences in Europe! Reservations are essential so plan ahead if you want to go. It is absolutely worth it!

9.5/10As a Chef from the United States, my wife and I visited for Lunch. I have to say the food was excellent, especially the grilled vegetables, fresh marinated goat cheese, Sliced Iberico Chorizo and the Grilled Iberico Pork. Based on other Michelin recommended places, I do not understand not having 1 Star. Truly a place if you are looking for quality food, I would recommend highly.

+1All the awards are well earned. We had an incredible experience at Canalha. The place is small but staffed up to make you feel well taken care of. A great variety of fresh fish and meats despite its size. After a few appetizers, we created our own surf and turf with a full Salengo, lamb chops and to die for Pork Presa. We finished off the meal with Chocolate Mouse and Flan. Very reasonable wine list too. Highly recommend.

3/10> Unfortunately, our experience was quite disappointing. The waitress with glasses seemed to manipulate the situation to increase the bill. She claimed the fish was not fresh and steered us toward the meat instead. What was served was 1200 grams of meat—far too much for just three people. Moreover, it was undercooked and excessively fatty. We were very dissatisfied with the entire experience.

7.5/10The food is good and of high quality, but extremely expensive for the wine to be served warm at the table and for one of the waitresses to ignore our request to add more ice to the wine cooler. I also didn’t like that the waitress pushed us to order more food, there was definitely too much food for two people, since the waitress insisted. The room is also very small.

9/10The first have we were seated in a table just off the door the bathroom and the kitchen, dozens of people passed next to us, no comfort and privacy, the table should not even be there. After an hour the staff was kind to find us another table.

7/10Exceptional Food, Let Down by Rude Service The food, as expected, was absolutely delicious — but the experience was unfortunately overshadowed by the behavior of our server, which left a lasting bad taste. We enjoyed a variety of starters, followed by the ribeye steak to share. The kitchen clearly knows what it’s doing, with everything cooked to perfection and even delivered by the chef himself. The roasted vegetable salad and the steak were the undeniable stars of the meal — the steak was seasoned flawlessly, and the vegetables, paired with a bold red pepper paste, were bursting with flavor. We ended with a round of desserts that did not disappoint; the chocolate mousse being ever so decadent. Unfortunately the service did not live up To the same high standard. Our server was noticeably rude and unwelcoming throughout most of the service only uping his game towards the end of our meal. With so many great dining options in this foodie city that kind of service is hard to Overlook

A modern classic restaurant with a creative menu and fresh ingredients on hand and available for inspection. Recommended to us by a friend who had been there about a year ago. Wait staff very friendly and helpful as you make your menu choices. Squid cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful but sheep butter sauce failed to complement effectively. Sea bass served cold, a bit disappointing as we were the first seating on a Monday and the kitchen was not yet under any real strain. The sauce was too thick and laid a suffocating blanket on a fish that doesn’t require a lot to please the palate. The staff was terrific and that surely makes the experience balanced instead of disappointing. Ordered a Vermouth Bianco, waiter returned a few minutes later to report that it was unavailable. Forgot to take it off the bill. Details, details, details……

6.5/10We had looked forward to dining at Canalha for over a year and hoped it would become one of our regular lunch spots. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. While we were greeted warmly initially, our server rushed us from the moment we sat down, growing visibly impatient when we weren’t ready to order within a minute. Throughout the meal, we felt pressured, our questions about a few dishes unwelcome, judged for our choices, and uncomfortable asking for basic things like to-go boxes (which became necessary since we were rushed to leave the table before finishing our meal). She even argued with us at the request. The server rolled her eyes several times throughout her interactions with us. Items we ordered never arrived, yet we were charged for them. To top it off, we were told to leave to make room for other guests, even though a few tables were open. We never write negative reviews, but this experience felt more stressful than enjoyable; w/o the opportunity to savor the food.

Food was nice, but not amazing. Waitress made the experience really underwhelming and unenjoyable. Was also sat at a table that was right next to another, who also received better service than us. Quite disappointed, and definitely not worth it for the price.
