Worst margaritas I’ve ever had. Food was tasteless except for the tuna ceviche which we very good.

The staff were more than cordial and the food only exemplified the experience. The atmosphere and restaurants aesthetic were beautiful. I’d come back here in a heartbeat and thoroughly enjoyed the experience!

The food was fantastic. The staff were friendly and gave some wonderful recommendations, including the tostada with pork belly, the gringa pastor, and the bunuelo for dessert. The guacamole was also very good.

Good service but food was underwhelming - small portions, somewhat bland and overpriced overall.

While the presentation looked good even mild was super spicy. Couldn’t taste the flavors of the food through all the spice. Major disappointment

We had friends visiting from the US and after a few weeks in Portugal had a serious desire for great Mexican food. My wife and I had been to Carnal many times and knew it was a can't miss experience. From the eclectic decor, friendly environment and stunning food and margaritas we had an amazing evening.

Delicious food! I loved the Michelin recommended taco (pastor) and the staff recommended taco (shrimp)

Honestly one of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve been to! Apart from extremely tasty, the food is uniquely fresh and different to typical Mexican fare. Service is also pretty on the ball.

Pastor was good and so was the shrimp. Need more dishes and more choices. Margaritas were really good.

A really nice Mexican restaurant in Lisbon. We were well looked after and the food was delicious. We enjoyed our meal there.

The restaurant's decor is very nice. The food is terrible. No one from the Chiefs has ever been to Mexico, especially not Micheline's food testers. Chiefs try to cook Mexican food, but the result has little to do with Mexico. The pico de gallo was okay, the rest was indefinable. Chipotle and green chili sauces taste total difference, and the rest too. And the marguerita was sweet with a salty rim. No fresh lemon. Brrrrr. A recommendation from Michelin cannot have been made legally.

We had a lovely time at Carnal. Our waiter had excellent recommendations, the food was superb and our drinks were refreshing and creative. We’d love to go back!

The food at the restaurant was not very good, and the drinks were ok. Everything was grossly over priced for what you get. We tried 80% of the menu, and nothing impressed. I don't know how this place got a Michelin recognition, not only is it not special, it was generally bad. The only thing that was good was the service. As a final note we are Mexican/Americans who know what good Mexican food is, and this isn't it.

Prawns were very fishy and the language barrier made the ordering a bit difficult. We tried to order 3 orders of tacos but the waiter misunderstood and ordered us 6. When it came to the table we explained the misunderstanding and the staff wouldn’t take it off the bill. Tacos were okay for how expensive they were.

This place has changed. Just not a lot of food choices that appealed to me. Service was mediocre.

Great location and great price. Service, ambiance and cocktails solid. Really wanted to like the food. Some of the flavors in a dish too bold and couldn't appreciate other flavors. Steak/beef dry. Tuna and pork were great. Dishes could be a bit simplified.

Fantastic service, cool restaurant, and outstanding food. We loved every dish but do not miss the shrimp tacos — the best I’ve had!

I went to Carnal with my wife, my oldest daughter (25) and her friends. I have to admit that I picked up Carnal because my daughter loves Mexican cuisine and I am not a fan....but I had been very impressed with the cocktails, foods and wine. Carnal is a game changer in Mexican cuisine. Thank you for this incredible experience.

We saw Carnal on the Michelin guide so thought it would be great. We love Mexican food. Our server couldn’t seem to get our order right and while we do understand language was a barrier (he wasn’t Portuguese but from Eastern Europe) he even repeated orders back and had a pen and paper to write orders down. Despite this, he still missed one complete entree and one margarita. Efforts to remedy the order resulted in him bringing 4 new margaritas instead of 1, despite us telling him only one and showing him 1 finger. There is no group appetizer for chips and salsa, so you have to place one order per person which was cumbersome. The carnitas tacos were decent but the carne asada tacos were horrible per two of our guests who said the meat was so full of gristle they couldn’t chew it. Margaritas come WITHOUT ICE, which we didn’t care for, so we had to ask. Our biggest complaint the was the horrible service from the waiter, who never checked back and required us to leave our chair to find him.

Great service. The tuna ceviche was one of the best things I've ever eaten.

The service was slow and impersonal. The food was very average. We have had better tacos, carnitas, and tortas from street cars. The cocktails were great but everything was way over priced for what was delivered. For having a Bib Gourmand, this did not live up to the expectation. They would need a serious revamp before I would recommend.

The staff was delightful & informative. The food was simply fabulous! We had guacamole, several tacos & desert. Each made with the best ingredients; the meat was very tender all ingredients combined to create a perfectly balanced symphony of tastes!

We said we can't eat raw because we have pregnant women. We said there was no raw food, but we had tacos with raw shrimp on them. The hospitality was really bad, and we gave them our change in a lot of coins.
