we noted that the service was somewhat chaotic: first, a waiter was appointed to our table, to whom we placed part of our order, then he was replaced by another without the information about our order. we asked for 3 fish mains and one meat. 15 minutes later, the waiter comes back to us, apologizing for the inconvenience, informing us that there was no more meat - not any of the many mains on the menu. note that we arrived at 20.30 and had booked the table 3 days in advance....

I have my 1st contact with CG 25 years ago! From a little space at that time, to a bigger one nowadays, they continue with the high standards for forth: best meal together the best friendly atmosphere.

Either one has the Lavagante Rice, as everyone says it’s amazing, or all the rest it’s pretty average, and in this case the price/quality relationship is not there. We had codfish, “cherne a bulhão pato” and a steak au poivre, and all way lower quality than many restaurants at the same level. For me was disappointing, since I had great references. Not a bad restaurant at all, but quality is not premium.

Very good food and service. In such an upscale restaurant, I’d say two things would require an upgrade: - coffee; - ice cream.

We took my family here from out of town, and they were absolutely stunned by the place and said it was the best paella they had had in their entire life.

We came in with a large group mixed with adults and children and they accommodated us very well. Everyone enjoyed their meals. We live in Portugal near the ocean but yet my husband said his seafood here was probably the best fish dish he has ever had !

We knew this restaurant was good because it was always busy. We arrived and we’re shown to our table. Almost as soon as we had sat down and before we had seen the wine or food menu, a waiter brought Serrano ham, mushrooms, crab and 2 little pastries with a basket of bread to the table. We were asked if we would like them or some of them or he could take them away. We were a bit confused as to wether they were complimentary or not but the large size of the plates suggested not. We chose 3 of them. They were all very good. We then ordered main courses. I had turbot which came with a large pile of green beans and 2 potatoes. My daughter had a steak which she was told came with fries. The fries were actually a large bowl of crisps, no veg. When the bill came we saw that the Serrano ham was €20 , the crab and mushrooms €10 each and the basket of bread €4. We found they paying€40 for our starters was excessive even for a good restaurant especially as we were just presented with this food before seeing the menu! If we had had more time to think we may have said no at the beginning but felt a little pressurised at the time.

We used to live in Lisbon and we’ve been eating here for over 20 years. Every time we’re in Portugal we come here for dinner. It’s had the same owners the whole time and we’ve seen it grow and adapt and remain true to itself. Overall, a lovely dining experience.

Very good place - high end tapas, fish and seafood - the quality of the food is at the top. The service is efficient, even sometimes.to much and a little bit too fast. It is pricy, but well justified with the quality level. Well renovated old house.

We lived in Lisbon for 4 years and every time we go back this is the one restaurant we eat at and more than once. The food is wonderful, the service is great and Fernando the owner is a true host. No matter how long since we've been there, he always remembers us. Once, due to circumstance, we actually went 11 years without a visit and as soon as we went in , he knew us AND asked about our daughter. Great fresh fish and seafood prepared in the best Portuguese style.

The bar is lovely - the drinks very good, the staff serviceminded and the athmosphere great! We loved the restaurant as well. Good food, excellent wine and drinks. Serviceminded staff and a luxurious athmosphere. The only thing that wasn’t good was that they served crisps with two of the dishes.

It's the third time we visit this rest. The staff is good, the ambiance brilliant and the food of enormous quality. They have a garage , wich is a good help because Paço de Arcos is a crowded place. The prices are very high.

Everything about our experience was top-notch, so why did I give the service a rating of three? When seated the waiters proceed to bring over very expensive covers which they attempt to set on the table. You have to be firm in what you want and don't want. We took them all as we treated them as our starter, but then without asking they brought more bread and more crab, which of course they charged us for. It is a practice that many restaurants employ and one that is very off-putting. It is like bringing another bottle of wine when I did not ask for one. I would definitely go back, but with a keen eye on what is set on the table, particularly when I haven't asked for it. Otherwise it was a great experience.

Casa Galega opened recently in a beautifully restored 19th century building on the main street of Paço de Arcos "Centro Storico". The ambience and decor are really beautiful. The restaurant has a large bar/waiting room that was fairly full and a pleasant space, marred only by the presence of the mayor of Oeiras (Presidente da Cámara Municipal de Oeiras) smoking a large cigar. The menu is clearly Galician in accent, very largely based on sea-food, fresh fish, shellfish, and surprisingly also caviar, red and black. Three fairly advanced and substantial dishes (a very tasty mushroom/garlic dish, a crab paste and 2 shrimp croquettes) were placed on the table before we ordered, and in the Portuguese manner were just left there to be eaten (and paid for) or not. This is common but normally fresh cooked food. The items could be found individually in the menu, but it was never specifically stated whether they are to be paid for or not. We ate them all and there they were on the bill. Our ordered first course was fried green peppers and "little fishes from the garden" (green beans in a light batter). Both plain and simple without any special merit. We had one main course, one of the only 4 meat items on the menu, described as a pulled partridge. It came as fragments mixed with some vegetables in a thick brown sauce, with a small basket of potato chips on the side. Simple, pleasant but not very distinctive, and with a somewhat unattractive presentation: a green vegetable would have helped. We had two glasses each of an excellent (house) white Douro (Duas Quintas) and of an excellent (house) red Alentejo (Explicit, 2019) and started the evening with another glass of the same white and an Aperol Sprit. The wines were poured at the table and the measures were quite unusually generous. The bill for the whole thing was just under €100, which seemed extremely reasonable. The service was absolutely excellent throughout.

Wonderful atmosphere inside and the service was excellent. Our main was incredibly overpriced and was good, but nothing special. Not worth the 157€ we paid for two… starters, drinks etc however, were reasonably priced

Canceled my booking last minute after first confirming in the end called them and magic there is a spot. However this was in the smoking area and I was not asked this. Then they are only interested in selling you the most expensive items on the menu.
