the restaurant itself is great...the service very good.....the food was fine, not exceptional..but ok. the worst part without doubt was the ambiance..the atmosphere.the night we went there was a party of 20-30 really, loud, annoying Americans, who had no regard for anybody else in the restaurant. They clearly just wanted to show what great fun they were pretending to have..irrespective of any other nationalities present they just wanted to shout and be noticed. this was mentioned to the waiting staff who shrugged and said " they are Americans, what can we say". dissapointing responce

The “reception” at the initial queu took a little bit too long. Then everything went smoothly. I gave 4 stars to the food but don’t mind this. I was a “very frequently flyer” at Trindade some 50 years ago. Then I stopped going, Trindade closed and went through some changes and as it is the case when we compare things now with the things in one’s youth they are never quite the same. 😀😀

Beautiful interior, mixing the old (1836) with the modern. Very friendly and relaxed service. Food was OK, albeit a bit bland. I had the Fish soup, the dressed crab and the croquettes, and all 3 could do with a bit more spice.

Amazing venue. Beautiful surroundings. Food was fresh and delicious. Wine list somewhat limited but the Portuguese wines were delicious. We had a vegetarian in our group and the options were very limited. Otherwise a great experience.

Fresh and superb food served well. Perfect tastes and preparations. The traditional cod was more exceptional than traditional. The croquettes of beef and cod were perfectly balanced and done. The clams with garlic had just the right touch and the cilantro was a great addition.

Excellent value and caring service. We sat outside in the courtyard even thought it was noisy, both nights with a rowdy all male party ! All pretty good natured though.

Food is consistently good and the chocolate mousse in particular is excellent. Great place to be for a leisurely meal as it is a big room so it's ideal to take your time to eat and chat.
