9/10Overall a great experience! The restaurant is located in a beautiful building that used to be a convent many years ago. I have been there twice now and the service is friendly and efficient. The food quality was surprisingly good considering that the restaurant is frequented by many tourists and gets quite busy at certain times. We really enjoyed the house croquettes, pastel de bacalhau, polvo assado com molho de amendoa, codfish a bras and sirloin steak a Trinidade - all were quite good. We especially enjoyed the chocolate mousse which has amazing flavour! Very enjoyable evening out with good environment, good food and good service.

6.5/10A great restaurant however too many unprofessional people serving. High noise levels , ok true typical Portuguese but still some noise absorption should be implemented.

2/10Let’s start by saying this was equal to the worst dining experience either of us have had, around the world. Then we add that because of a disastrous evening, the head waiter and manager politely apologised, as well they should. What happened: Our waiter had no experience, didn’t understand the menu, brought us red instead of white wine; my entree forgotten, finally delivered as He finished his entree. It was so noisy with a table of 10 drunken, screaming revellers near us, that we were moved to a slightly quieter area. His steak was tough; my requested fish of the day Bass arrived as a mix of egg/cod worm- looking something which I had to return. I was offered a large grilled prawn to replace it - so overcooked I had to use a steak knife. For these unforgivable events - none of them excusable - we were charged full price including for the shrimp which cost more than the fish I originally ordered. Summary: we should have been given a free meal, or at least shrimp replacement gratis.

8/10Food was good, service was fine but the atmosphere in the front part of the restaurant is not very nice. We asked to be seated in the back but were told that we couldn’t despite free tables there, which was disappointing. We were planning to have a large dinner and splurge, but this way we had to cut the dinner short as it was too uncomfortable and bright to sit in the front part.

10/10This restaurant wins on all fronts: food, service, and ambience! They can well accommodate vegetarians as well as carnivores but why no chicken on the menu? We loved our beef, fish and veggie curry mains. The beer pudding for dessert was super sweet so the espresso and citrus slice garnishes were key to making it more balanced. Our server was a professional through and through and even offered to bring a second bowl so I could try my husband's fish soup. Both the front and back dining rooms with their vaulted ceilings and tile and mosaic decorations are a stunning backdrop. I think every stop in Lisbon must include a dinner here!

7.5/10We were really looking forward to eating here. We were however a bit disappointed. The menu has a large difference in price range depending on the dish, with some dishes unexpectedly expensive for Portugal. The food was good, tasty and nicely presented. We did however feel that the welcome was very impersonal, the toilets needed cleaning and the beautiful ambiance of the restaurant was very noisy. We were running late and tried to call the restaurant a number of times to notify them, but the call was never answered. In general it was fine, but not somewhere we would rush back to.

6.5/10For the price we've paid I'd expected more quality and quantity on the food. I've ate "Bacalhau a Brás" and "Bacalhau ao lagareiro" and the portions where super small, it came with a small part of Bacalhau and a lot of potatoes. The Bacalhau a Brás was good but I was expecting the traditional with homemade fried potatoes taking in consideration the price of the plate. The service was good. But it's bad if when we ask something out of the box (a picture of us in the restaurant) they gossip between them, make faces and roll eyes...

7/10Very interesting place to visit in terms of the indoors. Good service , ok food. The price in relation with what offered is high. We have eaten (with the same prices or even lower) to much better restaurants in Portugal.

10/10I came here a few years ago, before the big renovation, and I read online a lot of not-exactly-positive reviews for a number of reasons. So, I choose to come early in the day for lunch. I have to say it was a fantastic experience starting from the service, which was professional and quick. We were welcomed with a brief introduction to the place, too. The food was great! The octopus salad was tender and flavorful. The steak was juicy and perfectly cooked, and the bacalhau a braz was also great. The artisanal beer is worth mentioning too. The only thing I was not a fan of was the fact that the bill added a tip, very American. I usually leave a tip regardless if the service is good. but the fact that it is not mentioned makes it a bit dodgy. Also, the real total is written small and the total with the tip is written bigger, which doesn't feel right. When I paid with a card, I was not asked if I wanted to add. The total was given with the tip added.

9.5/10Nice place to have lunch. This restaurant is located in a beautiful old building at Chiado. They serve traditional Portuguese food and homemade beer for a reasonable price.
