I was expecting creative, tasty food. The food did not meet expectations.

We had a wonderful meal at Cibleo. We sat at the bar so we got a chance to see their work up close and personal. It’s very impressive what they are able to do in such a small space! The service was impeccable - friendly, informative and helpful. And the food was divine! An eight course tasting menu for 55 EUR is a great deal - every dish was delicious, but our particular highlights were the cod fritter in a sake potato cream, the soba noodles with a squash broth and spicy onions, and the curry chicken with sheep’s milk yogurt and rice. We also ordered the extra dishes, and the bao bun with pancetta and marinated vegetables was simply out of this world. They have a fascinating fusion of Japanese and Italian cuisine. A wonderful, memorable meal, and we’d love to come back again!

The food was excellent! Innovative,fresh and a beautiful fusion on Japanese/italian cuisines. The service was prompt and pleasant. My only complaint would be that it's very small and my 6' husband felt quite cramped at our table.

Do not miss this opportunity! Incredible and reasonably priced tasting menu. Try to get seated at the bar so you can watch chef at work. As about the history of the founder and his other restaurants. Quite interesting. Food is absolutely fabulous and creative. It was a taste explosion in every bite. Bravo!

Highly recommend the tasting menu and experience here. We enjoyed sitting at the bar to watch the chefs. High quality ingredients and good flavors. Excellent service and suggest making a reservation. Unique mix of Japanese and Tuscan flavors. Outdoor seating also available.

Ciblèo offers an ambitious blend of global cuisines, but for me the execution fell short. The dishes felt more like rough replications than authentic expressions—flavors that didn’t quite come together, more clashing than enriching. A taco with a cold, hard tortilla and a flan-style dessert paired with an odd soy-based sweet-sour sauce are good examples of how the complexity felt forced rather than natural. The wines were uniformly dry, muted, and lacked thoughtful pairings, even when requested. Service was kind but disorganized; we were served tasting plates before ordering, charged for an item we hadn’t asked for, and rushed out at the end. While the staff was polite and helpful, the overall experience didn’t match the price point.

+3Wonderful people and great concept, but I wish it was more unique and impactful with flavor. Great for folks who want to explore Japanese tastes in familiar Italian dishes, but if you're looking for something that is unique to both Japanese and Italian flavors like I was, this may not be the place for you. The chicken curry and taco were not something different enough to try in a different country. The beef tartare was good use of beef but definitely more simple, very heavy handed on the oil. My favorite dishes were the vegetable dishes: the eggplant and fish wrapped in greens. We ordered the additions of both the veggie gyoza, shrimp gyoza, and baozi with roast beef. The skins were very silk and well made but the filling was very salty and lacked any depth. The roast beef buns felt haphazardly thrown together, and was very soggy from the veggies. Their infused cocktails were wonderful, do get the Cibleo Panchi.

7 course tasting menu-food was all amazing. AC wasn't working so we were seated out back near an alley. Sewer gas smell made it unpleasant.

We sat at the bar and had the tasting menu. All the food was impeccable, with fantastic taste and beautifully presented. The staff were terrific, recommending wine to match and watching the chef's work close at hand made it a memorable experience.

Every dish on the tasting menu was very creative as well as different from one course to the next. It was fun to eat there and we will definitely go back. Quite a change from the usual Tuscan fare, not that there is anything wrong with Tuscan food!

A fantastic find that combines Tuscan heritage with Asian flair. Very much enjoyed the place, service and food. For full experience and Chef’s explanations sit at the counter. A must for all food lovers.

This Italian/Korean couple was extremely happy with everything. We visited on our honeymoon but it was my 3rd time there and all were exceptional. Everyone was warm and engaging and the food was incredible. Cibleo is on the very short list of places I absolutely have to visit whenever I'm in Florence. It is extremely rare to see fusion done well and so few chefs understand different types of cuisine so deeply thay they can blend just the right elements to create something unique and wonderful. Chef Kawai is a true master of his craft and everyone at Cibleo works extremely hard to make their guests' visit perfect.

The setting is nice, although small and space can be an issue even when sitting down. Service is friendly, I suggest changing chopsticks and especially the spoon once used - it’s unpleasant to taste previous dishes. Great advice on the sake, it really worked with the food. The food itself (tasting menu) was good, a good variety of flavours and textures. I loved the first course (the tongue in particular) and the steamed fish. We struggled with the take on the ribollita, it doesn’t work. It’s gloopy and the smoked fish (aka “fish prosciutto”) taste dominates the dish. The ramen broth was a bit too thick and I don’t understand why not serving pork chashu but instead literally a slice of boiled chicken breast. Lighten the broth and put more flavour if the dish closes the savoury part of the menu. Disappointing end of the menu, also lacked transition to the desert. The desert itself was simple and good. Overall we liked it and would try again once the menu changes, but didn’t blow us away.

Every bite is an explosion of flavor. Reminds me of David Chang’s Ko in NYC. Bar seating, watching the chef, talking to the chef and the charming hostess. Flurry of extras and surprises. Love Tuscan food but such a wonderful divergence in this beautiful Renaissance city.
