5.5/10We came here because of the great reviews. It was a Monday evening, so unfortunately quite. Little ambience. Food was ok not outstanding. We encountered an incident, and got reseated. With good customer service you may expect a word about it or some kind of “goodie” such as a coffee or a drink on the house but there was no acknowledgment. We left disappointed due to high expectations.

+1What a great evening! My partner and I had dinner at this restaurant for Valentine's Day. We were in a good place, good chairs. The staff is very friendly and it is very pleasant, good atmosphere, quiet and very tasty food. Definitely worth repeating! Thank you!

10/10Contraban was 10/10 across the board. The service was personal and professional (staff spoke English but was congenial when I tried to practice my Spanish). The food was excellent, including the marinated salmon, vegetable croquettes, grilled squid, and sea bass. The atmosphere was sleek and elegant. if I am ever in Barcelona again, I would absolutely revisit Contraban.

December 24, 2024, to January 3, 2025 was my year to spend in Barcelona for the holidays. When celebrating my world travels I would like to mark it with my tradition of eating in a Michelin style restaurant in different countries around the world. This year I chose your restaurant to celebrate the end of 2024 at the beginning of 2025. Your ambiance your atmosphere your choice of menu selection and your service was truly top match and I can understand and appreciate fine dining at one of these exclusive Michelin style restaurants. +1Marina manager was wonderful. Good enthusiasm and knowledgeable. First three courses outstanding crab , pork , gratin. Followed by well cooked but below the standard of previous courses and unremarkable. Ordered venison and a bottle of red but not available. Plates not changed between course of raw fish. Food arrived drinks did not. Poorly trained staff or disinterested maybe? A good dining experience albeit flawed. As a result of not having the venison or wine we were offered dessert. However 1 was charged to the bill and had to be rectified. Needs refining! Mixed emotions were had.

6.5/10We are vegetarian and we ordered two dishes to begin with. The food looked beautiful however the taste was extremely bland. it did not feel comparable to other Michelin restaurants I have been to. therefore we were disappointed and did not order any further dishes.

8/10Great little restaurant with an interesting philosophy about food as art. Ambience is lovely. Menu is very interesting. We tried the langoustine carpaccio, the cod croquettes, the roasted carrots, steamed fish, and cannelloni. We were there the day before a holiday, so they were out of some dishes and there was only one waitress and one food runner who doubled as the bartender. Still, the service was pretty good given the small number of staff. My only criticism is that the outdoor chairs were a little uncomfortable. Would go again!

Contraban was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The moment we walked in, the warm and inviting ambiance set the stage for what turned out to be an extraordinary creativity meal. Beautiful, quiet, warm place with the lights and a really nice dj with ambient house music. The menu offers a perfect blend of creativity and comfort, with dishes that are both visually stunning and packed with flavor. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just looking for a fantastic meal, is a must-visit. It exceeded every expectation, and I can’t wait to return!

+1We found this restaurant in the Michelin guide and decided to try it. We did not order the tasting menu. We ordered bread with butter. Butter comes in Smoked, Peppered and Seaweed, three flavours, every one has its uniqueness. Grilled carrots with crispy rice was exceptional and innovative! Grilled squid with gnocchi was so tender and cooked to perfection. Chateaubriandt was cooked in banana leaf encased in clay. It was definitely the highlight of our meal! Don’t forget to try the tiramisu which was the best one we have tasted! The meal is excellent and we will recommend to anyone who comes to Barcelona! Mucho Gracias for such good recommendations on the dishes!

Beautiful setting with wonderful staff who were very attentive and helpful. The food was amazing Inventive and comfort food at same time Only drawback was man at next table who did not seem to understand that patience is a virtue and thus, was loud and demanding The lemon cake with pistachio ice cream dessert was perfect ending

5.5/10Food was super average. I am surprised they are recommended by Michelin. We ordered the rustic bread, tomato salad and two main courses. Barcelona is food heaven and you can find much better quality at lower prices at many other places. Decor looks super cool. There was a DJ playing on Thursday night but there were only 3-4 other guests. Maybe people show up later but by 9 still no one showed up. Absolutely nothing special about the service. Wrong menu, wrong language, Got still water instead of sparkling etc etc etc. its not a bad place. But when a restaurant is in Michelin guide then expectations are much higher and in Barcelona the bar should be much higher

8/10The atmosphere and food were very good. The service was very slow, and the server apologized for this at the end of our dining experience. It seemed the restaurant was understaffed the evening we visited. Our server did her absolute best and was very kind, but she just had too many guests and was basically on her own for the whole restaurant. Maybe this is a one off, and there are typically more servers, but our experience was definitely hindered by super slow response times.
