The dish we tried was good but overall the restaurant is quite expensive. Service is a bit too cold. Reception not welcoming. We had lunch in the patio, which is nice but you still need to have the shadow open because of pigeons or falling plants from the planted wall…

Room was very elegant, although my request to sit at the bar was not accommodated. The food presentation was very good, but textures and flavors were off. The DJ was playing music that was dated and sleep inducing. Everything was overly salty, (and I really like salt.) Nothing was of a level of a fine dining hotel restaurant. The gnocchi were mushy, not airy. The thick saffron sauce clashed the the squid ink sauce. The was no moistness to the bone marrow osso buco. the potato and cheese pastry was a salty pub grub mess that could have been frozen. it all was quite bad. The table next to us were very underwhelmed by the food as well.

We came here because of the great reviews. It was a Monday evening, so unfortunately quite. Little ambience. Food was ok not outstanding. We encountered an incident, and got reseated. With good customer service you may expect a word about it or some kind of “goodie” such as a coffee or a drink on the house but there was no acknowledgment. We left disappointed due to high expectations.

What a great evening! My partner and I had dinner at this restaurant for Valentine's Day. We were in a good place, good chairs. The staff is very friendly and it is very pleasant, good atmosphere, quiet and very tasty food. Definitely worth repeating! Thank you!

Contraban was 10/10 across the board. The service was personal and professional (staff spoke English but was congenial when I tried to practice my Spanish). The food was excellent, including the marinated salmon, vegetable croquettes, grilled squid, and sea bass. The atmosphere was sleek and elegant. if I am ever in Barcelona again, I would absolutely revisit Contraban.

December 24, 2024, to January 3, 2025 was my year to spend in Barcelona for the holidays. When celebrating my world travels I would like to mark it with my tradition of eating in a Michelin style restaurant in different countries around the world. This year I chose your restaurant to celebrate the end of 2024 at the beginning of 2025. Your ambiance your atmosphere your choice of menu selection and your service was truly top match and I can understand and appreciate fine dining at one of these exclusive Michelin style restaurants. Marina manager was wonderful. Good enthusiasm and knowledgeable. First three courses outstanding crab , pork , gratin. Followed by well cooked but below the standard of previous courses and unremarkable. Ordered venison and a bottle of red but not available. Plates not changed between course of raw fish. Food arrived drinks did not. Poorly trained staff or disinterested maybe? A good dining experience albeit flawed. As a result of not having the venison or wine we were offered dessert. However 1 was charged to the bill and had to be rectified. Needs refining! Mixed emotions were had.
