The food was good, but not what they promised on the Web. But: I was really looking forward to enjoying the menu with wine pairing, which has been on their Web pages for weeks. Then, when I arrived, there was no wine pairing - just rather expensive wine bottlles and only few options of wine by the glass. The wine pairing is not only on the Web pages of the restaurant, but also on the Web pages of thefork.com

I was particularly taken aback by the behavior of a Korean staff. This is the following concerns during my visit: 1. Dishes were removed from the table without any prior request or communication. 2. Leaving food items without any explanation. 3. Regarding dessert, I was not informed that additional petit desserts would be served alongside the main dessert. When I inquired about the receipt, the server merely nodded, failing to clarify that more items were forthcoming. 4. Additionally, I did not receive a receipt from him. 5. I also observed that the server repeatedly brushed his hair with his bare hands while attending to the table, which I found to be unhygienic. 6. Notably, the table right next to me received accurate and attentive service, further highlighting the disparity. I strongly believe that his absence would provide a better experience for Korean customers. such behavior may stem from a lack of professionalism or any racism. Where to begin! I will make this short and sweet for all the readers. We opted for the 6 course pre-fixe and the wine pairing for each course. The pricing was more than adequate for such incredible cuisine, ambiance and staff. I won't go into detail on each course, but each dish was exquisite, the wine paring was a marriage made in heaven and the service was second to none! Bravo!! It was my girlfriend's birthday, and they made it very special. we recevied a couple of courses for dessert and even a gift from the pastry team upon departure. Chef, Alan (I hope I spelled that right, who I believe was one of the sommeliers), the other sommelier, our server.. literally everyone was so attentive and professional. Thank you all SO much for such a memorable evening. what a team of true luxury hospitality professionals!

This restaurant was way too busy: completely taken over by tourists. It was crowded and noisy, so much so you could not hear the introduction for each dish. The quality of the food is sub-bar for a Michelin restaurant, the taste was bland and sometimes overly sour. Overall I was shocked by how busy the waiters were that night: they were almost running and kept bringing out dishes after dishes from the basement kitchen. They have turned this eatery into a highly proficient standardized operation. We paid eu$365 that night. Y booking into this restaurant was meant to be a treat for an old friend. Definitely not worth it given the food quality, ambience and high price range. I would not recommend this one star Michelin restaurant to anyone.

We had a very nice meal at Contraste and I really have to compliment the service staff who were very accommodating. The restaurant has a set menu of 8 courses and diners can choose how many of these courses they want to order. They also offer wine pairing in addition to the selections on the wine list. We ordered the 8-course menu with the wine pairing. You don't know what you are getting until the plate hits the table. There is no written or verbal description of the menu prior to getting your food. Some dishes were more successful than others, but everything was extremely well crafted and you could definitely see the effort put into the food. There are some very well-trained people working in the kitchen. Our only issue with our meal was with the pigeon breast which we did not like. Even without us bringing this to waiter's attention, he was at the table asking us if we had an issue with the dish and he offered to have the chef replace the dish with something else. (This was an example of superb service.) Overall, it's an interesting place with some very creative chefs.

The restaurant is lovely and charming. The set menu didn't live up to the E250 per person price point; for example, two of the courses repeated similar ingredients and similar appearance. The meat course was pheasant in pastry.... we would have expected that in a country inn, but not a one Michelin star restaurant. The sommelier was delightful.... absolutely lovely. However, we were surprised when he asked if we "wanted our wine glasses changed". There was no sense at all that it was New Year's Eve - no decorations, no sense of excited. The restaurant was absolutely empty by 11.30pm which we found very odd.

Service was speedy and courteous for a couple with 1 Celiac Intolerant guest. Had to ask for a second knife and butter for Gluten protection. One dish came with Gluten touching non-gluten piece on plate. Food presentation was wonderful, but seating comfort and taste quality was not up to par for a Michelin Star restaurant.

In a city with lots of tasting menu options, this Michelin one star really nails it. Great food, service and atmosphere, Contraste is a gem. And, they combine terrfic food with customer friendly options for the tasting menu, 4,6,8 course options, all reasonably priced with multiple options on each. This is a Paris find, it a very nice Madeline neighborhood.

It’s a good restaurant per se, just not good enough to be Michelin starred. Even Michelin stars reward mainly food quality, people generally do have expectations on the ambiance and service, too. The place is way too small for the number of tables they cramped in. Even with quite advanced booking, I was seated literally half meter from the toilet door. As it was ‘menu surprise’, I told the waiter that I do not eat goat cheese, yet half of the desert served was all about goat cheese. We took the wine pairing. Weirdly the sommelier didn’t want to change the wine glass between a gewürztraminer and a Savoie. When I tried to rinse mine with water, he even dared to make condescending comments. I do not care about some new era hippy sommelier’s opinion on mix and match, I should at least be offered the option of having a new glass for a different wine. Food wise, some dishes are really tasty, some we simply didn’t get it at all, especially the coffee marinated beef with sea urchin source.

Very complex but well balanced small dishes. Not only very special combination of flavours and textures but also technically perfectly executed (the cuison of the deer was perfect). Wine pairing very well done as well, no classics. A smaller place suited for relaxed dining.
