9/10Superb mix of innovative yet recognized regional specialties - all prepared to perfection and promptly served. Wait help spread a little thin, so not as attentive as would ideally wish, but hard to beat in quality. Probably my #1 restaurant pick in Florence!

Cara Tania, il Coquinarius è nel cuore di Firenze e dei fiorentini da 25 anni ed è frequentato da appassionati di tutto il mondo. Da noi in Toscana l'olio d'oliva è SACRO e nessun toscano si permetterebbe di diluirlo. E, sinceramente, l'olio extra vergine d' oliva che serviamo ai tavoli del ristorante a noi piace molto. Lo travasiamo nei piccoli brick perché lo compriamo in taniche da 5 litri. Se volevi sapere la provenienza bastava chiedercelo. Oltre all' olio EVO Toscano serviamo in accompagnamento ad alcuni piatti olio all'arancia e al limone dell'azienda agricola "duenovesei" della Sabina romana. In autunno poi facciamo degustazioni con l' olio nuovo delle aziende agricole del Chianti. Come vedi per noi l'olio è molto importante. Come la cucina. Ci dispiace che non ti sia piaciuto l'olio e la nostra cucina. Noi quando siamo andati in Provenza ad degustare i vostri oli e la vostra cucina abbiamo apprezzato con gioia e non ci permetteremo mai di offendere luoghi di cui non conosciamo la storia

2.5/10This restaurant had been recommended to us and we were looking forward to a wonderful expedience. Unfortunately, we were completely let down. Service was deplorable. We sat for 15-20 minutes before someone even approached us. Our server had zero personality and was utterly oblivious to the needs of anyone at our table. A couple sitting next to us apparently felt the same as they ultimately gave up and walked out. Our food was equally disappointing, even down to the bread which was tasteless. There was one appetizer (cheese flan with beef) and one main course (cheese and pear ravioli) that we enjoyed, but the balance was the worst food we have had in Italy. My daughter couldn’t get past the first bite of her pasta - you would have thought the staff might have taken notice and offered her something else, but again, completely oblivious. 9.5/10We had our last meal in Florence at Coquinarius, reviews had looked good but we’d struggled to view the menu on the website. We were surprised to find a taster menu at a really good price! Even more surprised that no one had mentioned it in previous reviews. The menu was fantastic, each course was full of flavour well Thought out and presented beautifully. We had the wine pairing instead of choosing a bottle which worked out good value. This included Prosecco, a white, rose, 2 reds and a vin santo ! Highly recommend the restaurant , had nice feel ( I was a little cold but the weather wasn’t great) and the staff were all friendly and efficient. My personal favourite dish was the Cheese and pear "Raviolino" with Parmigiano Reggiano cream, but every fish was delicious ! Would definitely come back if (when) we are in Florence again !

5.5/10We were not particularly pleased by how we were treated at this place. The manager/waiter was not very helpful and was actually impatient and in a hurry when we did interact with him. I ordered grilled octopus to share (one of my favorites) and actually received a single tentacle the length and diameter of my index finger. My wife declined to have any out of mercy. My main course was stuffed pigeon. This is a very small bird, about the size of a man's fist However, I hadn't expected it to come to the table, all by itself, in the center of a large bare plate, garnished by 6 tomatoes, literally the size of peas. This was an unsatisfying experience on many levels. In fact, writing about it makes me a little angry now.

10/10The food is amazing. It is my fourth time in this restaurant, the first after COVID. I am happy to say that the high standards are the same. The restaurantis not big and was full (lots of locals) so I advise to book in advance.

4.5/10We were mostly annoyed by staff or made to feel like we were an inconvenience. Our server was short with us. We asked for still water and he brought sparkling - repeatedly. Half of the group was finished before other half was served. We would ask for something like napkins and he would need to be asked more than once and dropped them on the table. He was rude and difficult. Food was good, but not worth the terrible service.

4/10We came to this restaurant with high expectations based on the reviews. Sadly we were disappointed due to the food. We ordered an appetizer, pasta and a salad. Rather than experience the usual Italian approach to serving dishes one at a time, they brought out all three dishes at the same time 5-6 minutes after we ordered. We were shocked but decided to go with it. The octopus appetizer was gummy and lukewarm, and the pear ravioli had a very strong butter sauce which drowned the delicacy of the pear filling. The salad had only leaf lettuce and the pears were brown from being prepared too far ahead of time. The Asiago cheese had no flavor and the hazelnuts were raw and had not even been toasted. There was no dressing, just sweet balsamic syrup drizzled over the top. The Prosecco was nice and cold and our waitress was quite lovely, but this restaurant has obviously changed from what it once was. All of the other restaurants we have been to in Florence have exceeded our expectations, sadly this one was quite the opposite.

9/10the food was really exceptional, as i t always is there. unfortunately we had to wait and wait for the 2nd course, despite asking twice about it. this has never happened to us there before; but, the glitch was disappointing because we took visiting family there for lunch.

10/10This place is definitely our favorite in Firenze. Their burrata pasta with pistachio pesto and onion cream is in my top five favorite foods in the world. My wife loves their pear and pecorino pasta with parm cream. If you’re nice they’ll give you some limoncello on the house.
