9/10Superb mix of innovative yet recognized regional specialties - all prepared to perfection and promptly served. Wait help spread a little thin, so not as attentive as would ideally wish, but hard to beat in quality. Probably my #1 restaurant pick in Florence!

5/10Diluted olive oil with no label and bland food. Another restaurant with a stellar rating on The Fork that was quite average. Tourist restaurant. Again :(

Cara Tania, il Coquinarius è nel cuore di Firenze e dei fiorentini da 25 anni ed è frequentato da appassionati di tutto il mondo. Da noi in Toscana l'olio d'oliva è SACRO e nessun toscano si permetterebbe di diluirlo. E, sinceramente, l'olio extra vergine d' oliva che serviamo ai tavoli del ristorante a noi piace molto. Lo travasiamo nei piccoli brick perché lo compriamo in taniche da 5 litri. Se volevi sapere la provenienza bastava chiedercelo. Oltre all' olio EVO Toscano serviamo in accompagnamento ad alcuni piatti olio all'arancia e al limone dell'azienda agricola "duenovesei" della Sabina romana. In autunno poi facciamo degustazioni con l' olio nuovo delle aziende agricole del Chianti. Come vedi per noi l'olio è molto importante. Come la cucina. Ci dispiace che non ti sia piaciuto l'olio e la nostra cucina. Noi quando siamo andati in Provenza ad degustare i vostri oli e la vostra cucina abbiamo apprezzato con gioia e non ci permetteremo mai di offendere luoghi di cui non conosciamo la storia

2.5/10This restaurant had been recommended to us and we were looking forward to a wonderful expedience. Unfortunately, we were completely let down. Service was deplorable. We sat for 15-20 minutes before someone even approached us. Our server had zero personality and was utterly oblivious to the needs of anyone at our table. A couple sitting next to us apparently felt the same as they ultimately gave up and walked out. Our food was equally disappointing, even down to the bread which was tasteless. There was one appetizer (cheese flan with beef) and one main course (cheese and pear ravioli) that we enjoyed, but the balance was the worst food we have had in Italy. My daughter couldn’t get past the first bite of her pasta - you would have thought the staff might have taken notice and offered her something else, but again, completely oblivious. 9.5/10We had our last meal in Florence at Coquinarius, reviews had looked good but we’d struggled to view the menu on the website. We were surprised to find a taster menu at a really good price! Even more surprised that no one had mentioned it in previous reviews. The menu was fantastic, each course was full of flavour well Thought out and presented beautifully. We had the wine pairing instead of choosing a bottle which worked out good value. This included Prosecco, a white, rose, 2 reds and a vin santo ! Highly recommend the restaurant , had nice feel ( I was a little cold but the weather wasn’t great) and the staff were all friendly and efficient. My personal favourite dish was the Cheese and pear "Raviolino" with Parmigiano Reggiano cream, but every fish was delicious ! Would definitely come back if (when) we are in Florence again !
