We visited Cortile Pepe in the historic center of Cefalù, expecting a high-end gastronomic experience in line with its fine dining branding. The courtyard ambiance was lovely, with a calm, pleasant sound level and a comfortable outdoor setting that initially put us at ease. Service staff were friendly and attentive throughout the evening. However, at the end, the manager’s persistent thanks felt overly insistent, almost as if pushing for glowing reviews. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the expectations implied by the pricing. Some dishes tasted overwhelmingly of salt, others lacked any distinct flavor. Presentation was inconsistent, some courses looked appealing, others came off as uninspired. One bright spot was dessert, which was enjoyable and well executed. Given the premium price level, the balance of what was delivered fell short. We cannot recommend Cortile Pepe based on our experience and feel that skipping it would spare disappointment.

10/10Superb food and service from the moment we entered the restaurant. We ate from the al a carte menu and had veal cheek and quail+scampi to start followed by the rabbit porchetta and then the tarte tatin. All excellently presented and very tasty. Service attentive throughout

+5Everything was wonderful! The atmosphere is beautiful. The service was outstanding and the food was exceptional. Exactly what we were hoping for. They even went out of their way to give us wonderful gluten free chefs bites before the appetizer and dessert. A++

9.5/10Excellent meal with a fantastic presentation. Portions allowed for wonderful tasting in just the right portions. My wife and I typically share and it was perfect! Loved the quaint historical district location. Wish we had realized that you should not drive to the location! As they say it is not possible! Parking in a lot and a short 10 minute walk was nice though.

9.5/10Imaginative and beautifully presented dishes, attentive and friendly service. We dined early evening (so British) so the restaurant was quiet and lacked atmosphere, however a memorable meal none the less.

10/10Excellent food, service and ambience. We had the set menu and were allowed to swop a couple of courses. The food was absolutely delicious and all the staff super friendly. The sommelier was great in helping us choose a wine from the excellent wine list. This was the best place that we ate in during our 5 night stay in Cefalu. It was memorable and I'd love to go back some day.

5/10The staff were very nice but they rushed out the dishes far too quickly - we ordered a cocktail and they insisted on taking the order at same time and then our starters arrived while we were still having a drink. We are those very slowly to try and prolong things - and they tried to take away my plate twice! I asked them nicely to slow down - we wanted to enjoy the meal and not eat too quickly. They did slow down but when my main was brought it was lukewarm - I suspect it had been sitting under a heat lamp while they slowed the service. The main wasn’t great - maybe because lukewarm - though the rest of the food was delicious. When you go out to a special restaurant you don’t expect them to rush you through the meal! Maybe staff were being trained?

10/10Cortile Pepe was a real treat! The space is beautiful and the staff is friendly and helpful. We tried the 6 course tasting menu and every course (which really turned out to be 9!) was exceptional! I highly recommend.

7.5/10Very nice atmosphere, contemporary with rustic finishes. Nice wine list. Food was good but nothing that blew us away. You definitely have to be adventurous… some works… some doesn’t. Small portions but this was not a surprise. Service staff seemed upset when we asked that our wine be put next to us. Servers were busy so we never mind pouring our own wine when needed…Definitely a place for adults. Glad we tried it but not a strong favorite.

+11This restaurant is characterized by the complex preparation of its dishes, based primarily on island products. I opted to choose the set menu, the most complete option. It was truly a pleasure to enjoy the dishes and flavors, great cuisine. The price is above the average of the restaurants in the town, but the meticulous work they manage to get out of that kitchen, I feel, is worth it.
