We were welcomed by the host and the pastry chef. Both were so charming and made us feel right at home. My daughter has celiac and had many options to choose from. Everything was delicious from start to finish. And the pastry chef was so endearing and funny—the owner came later and told us about the history of the restaurant. Plus his gelato is hand made and is one of the most famous in Rome. I could go on and on—you won’t want to miss this place. We will go back again before we leave. Buon appetito!

They seem to be heavily understaffed… people would sit and leave after long waiting and not even a menu would be served after 10-15 min sitting. Which makes experience unpleasant of course regardless of how delicious is food. Too long to sit, to order to get order, to receive orders (number of tables would be informed their orders were late/lost) … I mean it’s a shame, location is beautiful so is the food.

An absolute shambles of a restaurant. The location and images do not live up to thy hype. Horrendous service, 25 minutes seated without a drink. Food, awful, you’d be better served at a different restaurant. At least you’d get served. Quality of produce was poor and the waiters couldn’t clearly be bothered. It wasn’t even that busy. I would avoid, just head to Campo Di Fiori instead and get great food and service as you won’t receive it here.

They were very accommodating with asking for vegetarian options. They made a pappardelle with vegetables garlic and oil that was not On menu and was excellent. My husband had the truffle fettuccini and says it was the best pasta he has ever had- period. It was very light and creamy and just perfect. Highly recommend!

We were there for New Year’s Eve dinner with a set menu. The food was delicious, all four courses. We had a very nice wine with dinner. The service was excellent. We never felt rushed. All in a charming and cozy room.

The outdoor sitting is beautiful and romantic. We ordered the gratin aubergine as our starter. My husband had the saltimbocca and I had the Amatriciana both were amazing. We finished the meal off with their homemade gelato, which was very good. I highly recommend this place.

The food was excellent, with creative imagination and expertise in the recipe, and just as excellently prepared in the kitchen. The service was competent and attentive. (To our pleasant surprise, we observed how the restaurant management expertly and respectfully corrected and guided the younger service staff in their work - when appropriate. Something we often miss in Rome's restaurants...). The restaurant has its typical Rome charm in the outdoor area, the interior is a bit cramped; but that is no reason at all to avoid a visit. The prices are certainly above average, but justified given the quality of the food. Conclusion: highly recommended, your budget permitting ...

Our first dinner in Rome and it couldn’t have been better. The staff were kind, it was not overcrowded, and the food was incredible. The area around the restaurant is beautiful at night. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!

tucked away in a side street this unimposing restaurant is a true gem. The food is absolutely 1st class. Grilled calamari and the Octopus are both stand out dishes as well as the ever popular cacio y pepe. Definitely save room for desserts. The restaurant Queen was very enthusiastic in her descriptions and with good reason. I'm not normally a dessert person but glad I didn't miss this. Highly recommend

This restaurant was picture perfect! And not only was it beautiful, the service was great- very friendly and professional, and the food was simply delicious. We had pasta dishes to start, and the Chateaubriand for the main which was amazing. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this little gem of a place!

Tucked away in a narrow alleyway at the foot of a picturesque staircase. Not a lot of tables so a reservation is a must. Service was excellent from start to finish. The food was fresh and there were special touches to all of the dishes that gave them a unique and pleasant effect. We went here on the recommendation of a neighbor who visits Rome frequently as an airline pilot.

This was our “Easter Dinner” in Rome. Absolutely blown away by the warm welcome and the high level of the cuisine. All courses were perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. We asked for, and received, excellent wine recommendations. Our only regret was that we were leaving Rome the next morning and, so, could not quickly return for a repeat of this experience. Next trip to Rome, the Cucina del Teatro will be our first dining stop!
