This was the best meal my wife and I have ever had in our lives! This was our last day in Florence on our honeymoon before we head down to the Amalfi Coast to cap our trip off, but we will be dreaming of this place forever. The food was out of this world, the service from Gianluca, Catalina, and Luigi was impeccable, and the restaurant itself had the most intimate and perfect ambience. It’s a wonder this place only has one Michelin Star - it should have 3! Everything from the amuse bouche of miso broccolini and apricot, to the antipasti of stuffed tomato and salmon mosaic, to the primi of beef ravioli (of which we ordered ANOTHER after our secondi), to the secondi of pork with a raspberry and cherry sauce and beef filet with the best potatoes I’ve ever had - this was a meal for the ages. Top it all off with an amazing bottle of wine, multiple treats to celebrate our honeymoon, and incredible desserts, this place has our whole heart. We will be back every time we come to Florence!

10/10Very good quality food. I took a la carte and was served with lovey dishes, well presented and very good quality produce. As I was alone, I did not take a bottle of wine, but asked for a glass to go with each course. I was offered a very good selection of wines, which matched the dishes perfectly. It is not easy to eat well in Firenze, due to the extremely high volume of tourists, but if you want to have a fine dining experience, this is definitely a place to go.

Memorable food, professional service. Unassuming area of Florence. Quaint, cozy and Michelin star chef tucked away not far from one of the bridges. Such a spectacular experience.

+4I came here with my sister for my birthday, and it was exceptional. The staff were so kind, welcoming, and really attentive both in terms of explaining the food and making it feel so special for me. I am grateful to the chef for accommodating us, the amazing complimentary dishes everyone received which whetted our appetites (the broccoli was exquisite!), and for designing such an imaginative and delicious tasting menu. I didn’t get the name of the staff who attended to us, but both were very committed and passionate. One recommended soft drinks to complement our food and another brought out a candle for my birthday with a raspberry illusion! Both were friendly, genuine, and made us feel comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed the five course tasting menu. Highlights were the carpaccio (with the thinly sliced plum, herring eggs, and the most delicate fish), the bisque powder on the taglioni, and the best surprise dessert (chocolate, hazelnut, passion fruit, all in harmony). Grazie mille!

10/10The chef, said to be from Venezuela, creates dishes that are incredibly delicate and exceptionally delicious. The cuisine appears to be influenced by Japanese cooking, as one dish's sauce contained soy sauce. The plates used are carefully chosen, and the staff is wonderfully welcoming. It is a highly recommended restaurant.

10/10The food was delicious. A fusion of Italian ingredients and exotic touches. We had the 5 course menu that was a success from start to finish. The wine list is comprehensive and the prices are good. The staff were fantastic in their explanations of each dish, suggestions and service.

This was a return visit to Cuculia. We ordered the 5 course surprise tasting menu. The three amuse bouche were delicious and imaginative with beautiful presentation. The first course was an onion soup with a brûlée onion powder on top. The flavors were good but the overall product had too much oil for our taste. The second course of roasted pumpkin and the third of chocolate pasta filled with slow cooked pork were spot on. The fourth course of quail was our favorite. The dessert was also delicious and imaginative. Their list of wines by the glass is very well curated and paired well with the meal. The staff are friendly, helpful and professional. Our biggest complaint of the meal was how slow the service was. There was a lot of time between courses resulting in a meal lasting almost 3 hours. While we appreciate not feeling rushed when we dine out we thought this was just too slow. We love the food, presentation and staff but hesitate to return due to the length of the meal.

No idea how this restaurant ended up on the Michelin guide. The food is below average, a bad attempt to be creative with completely non-fitting ingredients. The meat, the fish were just not tasty. Fish was plain awful, cold and rubbery, with disgusting sauce. Very nice interior and wonderful staff, but that couldn’t compensate the food.

10/10I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying the wine pairing menu twice in 2023. I highly recommend Cuculia to all who truly seek and enjoy an elevated culinary experience. Chef Oliver Betancourt exceeds ecxpectations. The menu each visit has been beyond extraordinary and the wine selections were perfect. Ms. Roberta Del Prete went above and beyond to make certain our needs were meet. Our last visit consisted of a party of 8. 6 of which were very tired and jet lagged people who could barely keep their eyes open. Yet they powered through their exhaustion to enjoy the menu. We were the “obnoxious Americans” that evening and I fully appreciate the staff and Chef Betancourt’s ability to navigate our requests. Every course was layered in complexity. Beautifully displayed plates with mind melding in flavors. Culinary art at its finest. I cannot speak highly enough about Cuculia and can only hope others will take the opportunity to share in the experience. I look forward to visiting again in May 2024.
