8.5/10This was a return visit to Cuculia. We ordered the 5 course surprise tasting menu. The three amuse bouche were delicious and imaginative with beautiful presentation. The first course was an onion soup with a brûlée onion powder on top. The flavors were good but the overall product had too much oil for our taste. The second course of roasted pumpkin and the third of chocolate pasta filled with slow cooked pork were spot on. The fourth course of quail was our favorite. The dessert was also delicious and imaginative. Their list of wines by the glass is very well curated and paired well with the meal. The staff are friendly, helpful and professional. Our biggest complaint of the meal was how slow the service was. There was a lot of time between courses resulting in a meal lasting almost 3 hours. While we appreciate not feeling rushed when we dine out we thought this was just too slow. We love the food, presentation and staff but hesitate to return due to the length of the meal.

7/10No idea how this restaurant ended up on the Michelin guide. The food is below average, a bad attempt to be creative with completely non-fitting ingredients. The meat, the fish were just not tasty. Fish was plain awful, cold and rubbery, with disgusting sauce. Very nice interior and wonderful staff, but that couldn’t compensate the food.

10/10I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying the wine pairing menu twice in 2023. I highly recommend Cuculia to all who truly seek and enjoy an elevated culinary experience. Chef Oliver Betancourt exceeds ecxpectations. The menu each visit has been beyond extraordinary and the wine selections were perfect. Ms. Roberta Del Prete went above and beyond to make certain our needs were meet. Our last visit consisted of a party of 8. 6 of which were very tired and jet lagged people who could barely keep their eyes open. Yet they powered through their exhaustion to enjoy the menu. We were the “obnoxious Americans” that evening and I fully appreciate the staff and Chef Betancourt’s ability to navigate our requests. Every course was layered in complexity. Beautifully displayed plates with mind melding in flavors. Culinary art at its finest. I cannot speak highly enough about Cuculia and can only hope others will take the opportunity to share in the experience. I look forward to visiting again in May 2024.

9/10Ordered the Chef's free hand, 6 courses with wine pairings. Service was a bit slow between courses but there seemed to be a rush about 1/2 hr after I was seated so understandable. The tongue with raspberry, cherry and almond sauces was incredible as was the fish course. Vernaccia di San Gigmignano's Vagnoni was my favorite and I'm a red wine drinker. Biggest complaint was where I was seated...directly inside the front door. I'd asked to be seated elsewhere but he indicated because I was only a party of one, there weren't any other options. Again, I understand the almighty dollar (or Euro, in this case), but shouldn't he have attempted to accommodate$1 Not all the tables were full when I left 2.5 hrs later. Over all, still a lovely experience that I won't forget soon.

10/10+2Beautiful meal with my 18 year old son. My last night in Florence, he’s staying for school for 3 months, it was, fun, special and delicious. A true taste adventure…do it with a willing spirit and sense of humor and adventure and it will be one of the best meals of your life!

8.5/10A nice modern restaurant with food that is far away form the traditional tuscan kitchen. Good flavours very good vegetarian choices. Only point to improve was the speed of the service. The time between two of our courses was literally 15 seconds. Because prices are higher than normal in tuscany you might expect a to take Some time. But overall a good experience

9/10Presentation was inspirational. Some dishes were outstanding (dumplings, avocado w octopus ceviche and orange foam) other dishes were good. All were works of art. We appreciated the creativity but some flavors did not work for us, as was the kefir sauce for the lamb. Overall great dining experience!

10/10A wonderfully creative chef with unusual combinations, beautiful presentations, and complex flavors that may have Tuscan elements but draw on his wide range of regional experiences. If forced to choose favorites, they would be the “Tagliolini with bitter cocoa, asparagus, cherry tomatoes, carrots, and red onion,” the “Avocado roll with octopus marinated in ceviche, orange sauce in two consistencies,” and the “Strawberry and tomato gazpacho, vegetable crudités, aromatic herbs.” Variations abound at different times of the year - the delicious raspberry risotto from a year ago was replaced with a cheese risotto with black garlic, white lemon, peppers and pear. The combinations are unusual and they work - what sounds sweet isn’t necessarily so and the tagliolini had layers of developed flavors.

10/10We randomly spotted this restaurant whilst lost in Florence and liked the look of it so much we booked a table. Food was really innovative, service was first rate, wine pairings were excellent. We had the 6-course taster menu and really enjoyed it all.

10/10Best restaurant in Florence : food is amazing, service is very friendly, price is very reasonable. We tried a loooot of restaurants in Florence and this one is by far the best. The 5 dish menu chef was amazing.
