This was our first family meal in Rome and it was fantastic. The food was great, but the best part was the kindness of the servers. They welcomed us, a Korean family, so kindly from the beginning, and they were so kind from the food description to the alcohol guide. Their smiles and words at every moment made me feel cared for and interested, and it made my impression of Rome as a city itself improve. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting the area because of the best servers and delicious food.

Hard to fault this beautiful little place. Simple, exquisite food. Unusual exploration as well as Roman classics and perfect local wine. The fried eggs with truffle, spatchcocked rooster and potato and artichokes were all perfect. The service is relaxed but engaged and helpful. Untouched by fashion or over ambition this back street gem is the kind of place you dream of returning to.

booked a table for new years eve at Da Mario instead, we were installed in another restaurant across the street ("chez les amis"), with much less atmosphere we had read stellar reviews about da Mario and were very excited before our booking, however the experience was not in line with our expectations (and price paid for new year fixed menu)

Every body had the chance to decide the room and the different menu The fixed menu was the best selection of our standard menu cooked by our chef So we wish to see you again and experience what you were waiting for Happy and happy new year!

Made a reservation and was seated right away. Staff were attentive and food came fast. Ordered the tableside beef tartare, which was a great portion, tasted great and prepared right in front of us. Had a glass of wine and ordered the truffle pasta, which tasted amazing and they gave a healthy portion of truffle (shaved in front of us, mixed and finished with more truffles). Finished the dinner off with tiramisu, which tasted great. Would definitely come back!

I highly recommend the filetto di manzo (beef tenderloin steak). I chose the pepper sauce over the cream, and I’m very happy with my choice. The steak itself is delicious, but the slight spiciness from the whole peppercorns adds a really appealing touch. I enjoyed it so much that I asked the server for a pasta recommendation and ordered another dish. The carbonara wasn’t overly rich, and the truffle aroma complemented the pasta perfectly. It’s completely different from any carbonara I’ve had before. For reference, the pasta with black truffle is €18, while the one I had with white truffle is €35. White truffle is quite pricey!

The staff and the food made our visit memorable. We enjoyed a delicious fettuccini with truffles - they were very generous with the truffles! Everything we had was delicious. Our server was wonderful! We shared that our niece and nephew had been to the restaurant for 2 or 3 times in the last few days, and that they recommended it to us. The server and manager were really appreciative of our business and treated us like family.

We loved this place so much that we went back a second time during our stay in Rome. Fabulous pasta, delicious filet mignon, and fantastic service. Very nice menu and wine selection, and reasonably priced. If we ever go to Rome again, this special place will be the first place we go!

Fantastic food, nice and friendly visit For starters, we had Aubergine Parmigiana and Roast Beef Carpaccio. Penne Arrabbiata and Rigatoni Amatraciana. Dessert was pistachio ice cream and Tiramisu, all washed down with a bottle red wine from Lazio.

Do yourself a favor and make this reservation. This was our favorite dinner in Rome the food was delicious, service was amazing, and the atmosphere felt like a family. The 2 of us had wine, salads, entrees, dessert and espresso each and our total came to 62 euro, we wish we would have come sooner considering the evening before we spent 500 euto at another restaurant that did not compare to our meal at Da Mario! 10/10 recommend

I’ve been with friends at Da Mario Ristorante in Rome. Very good experience! Food was amazing, good wine was suggested and very attentive service. I really enjoyed and recommend. We chose Chatoubrian beef for 2 people and it was delicious!

GO GO GO!! Loved it so much we went 2 days in a row. Would have gone a 3rd time but they were closed Sunday. The food was AMAZING & so was the service! Valerio, the owner, took his time to teach us about the history of different items on the menu that we ordered. He even went above and beyond to surprise us both days with some free items like the cannoli, the sweet wine & biscotti, & more. When you order something with prosciutto you can watch it being carved off the leg right in front of you. He even taught me how to do it when we ordered the prosciutto & melon and let me try doing it myself! All the other patrons were Italian which is a great sign. Valerio really took his time to talk with us since lunch was a bit more mellow. I believe it can be harder to get a table for dinner so make a reservation! We got the prosciutto with melon 2x, carbonara, clam linguini, caramel cheesecake, creme brûlée, duck ragu, cacio e pepe, wine, and a seasonal berry cheesecake he created just for us!

Our waiter was Valerio, wow what an amazing guy. His English was amazing and his recommendations were spot on. He recommended wine for the guys and a special white wine for the ladies. PERFETTO!! The food was absolutely delicious. I wish I had more days in Roma to spend at Da Mario’s.
