6/10Our drinks order took a very long time, and our food order was incorrect. So, lots waiting. When our food did finally arrive, the tacos were soggy, as though they had been waiting for a long time. Disappointing.

5.5/10The service was so slow, we had to repeat 2-3 times for some orders. They got our orders wrong and added extra tacos, but we didn’t realise because it’s hard to keep track on the food you ordered with their ordering system (self ordering on a paper) The food is nice though, nice nachos and tacos.

10/10Always happy to come back. One of the best places in Geneva. Food is excellent. Service is amazingly friendly. Don't get spooked by it being on the "right side" of the lake. Try it and you will want to be back.

10/10I reserved a table here, and although we ended up running late, El Catrin was very kind and allowed us to come anyway. Very friendly staff and good tacos! The vegetarian options are also nice.

6.5/10The food quality decreased compare to last time I visited the restaurant. The side dishes were tasteless (rice and beans) and guacamole nothing special. The desert tres leches was quite good and margaritas saved the night. Polite service and cute atmosphere.

3.5/10Avoid. Thirty years of coming to Geneva and experiencing the Mexican/Tex-Mex "restaurants du jour," and like the others before it, El Catrin does not get it right. The food is neither real Mexican nor Tex-Mex. Whatever it is, it is not particularly good. Worse is the way it is run. I order a Margarita on the rocks. The server brings one of the pre-mixed frozen mixed-in-the-blender "margaritas" that may be suitable for children, but certainly not for adults who have had a real margarita in their lifetime. I informed the server that I ordered a margarita on the rocks. I am informed that a margarita on the rocks is "not possible" because "the bartender is very busy." WTF? The bartender is very busy and cannot mix a cocktail because it takes more time than th. rowing the premix in a blnder full of ice to produce a slushy. Are the El Catrin owners running a restaurant, or what? Restaurants get busy - the lucky ones - and staff deals with it. If the bartender cannot mix a cocktail because "it is busy" find one who can. Unbelievable. I asked the server to take back the slushy margarita and - when the bartender is less busy, please bring me a margarita on the rocks. Eventually, I received a margarita on the rocks. I guess the bartender had a lull. So for me, that set the tone for the evening. I would say the preceding experience might have colored my evaluation of the food. However, I have been to El Catrin several times before. The food was not particularly good on previous occasions, and tonight's meal was no different. The place seems to be enormously popular, but - in my opinion - this is because the international clientele who may not have experienced food in Mexico, or in good Tex-Mex in places from where Tex-Mex originates, enjoys Geneva limited offering. The bottom line is that I cannot believe a restaurant calling itself "Mexican" would state that a Margarita on the rocks is "not possible" because the bartender is too busy. More importantly, I would characterize the food as "Mexican-themed" and not very good. The food does not fall into the category of, "they simply cannot cook in the back," But is does fall into the category of uninspiring. With no reason for a return visit.

10/10The place is good, a bit noisy. The food is really good and they have bilingual service in French and English ( and some Spanish) . Menue is in two languages. The vibe comes from decoration and the good food they serve you.

9.5/10Excellent meal and atmosphere as usual. Really a great place. Slight disappointment that our order was "forgotten" and we had to wait a long time, but the waiters really apologized and offered compensation so we left happy and of course will return.
