3/10Food was average to poor. Beer was blend and had no bubbles. It tasted like a beer that was standing to long on the table. We gave it back. They didn't ask why we gave it back. I have eaten in many restaurants in Barcelona and this is far from good. White wine Alberino was sour, cheap quality.

10/10We have been to El Chigre a few times and truly consider it our happy place. Found coincidentally wandering through the streets of Barcelona almost 10 years ago, El Chigre never stopped delivering great food by a small family-like team. We have our favorites from the menu, though every dish is beautifully thought through and executed. Thank you

8.5/10Excellent food, inventive dishes and everything tasted so fresh. The service however felt rushed and we were cramped on to the bar, which we didn't expect. Next time we will request a table and reserve earlier so not to be racing against the clock. But we will return, because the food was delicious.

7.5/10I visited twice and can tell that the food and service are in consistent. The first time the black rice was delicious and had crispy edges the way paella should have. The second time the black rice was bland and no crispy edges. The push the daily fish but it’s not prepared in a tasty way. You have to ask to have it cleaned or else they won’t bother to do it.

10/10El Chigre is absolutely our most favorite restaurant in Barcelona. The food is incredibly delicious from the stuffed dates to clams to steak. It’s so good we can’t wait to come back again. The service is fabulous, warm and friendly

10/10Went for cider one day after wondering around Barcelona. After getting a small plate of oysters and tomato bread decided to come back for dinner. Very tasty, fresh seafood with great tapas and the best fabada I’ve ever had. A very freshening break from all the other food in Barcelona and well worth a visit.

5/10The food was mediocre and also the food came to the table after one hour that we ordered. The shrimps also were very small, and also we paid a lot of money for no reason. Only the entrecote saved the day, thus the 2 star, otherwise it would be a decent 0/5 Dissapointed.....

10/10The service is superb -- Max was an attentive server who got to know us and offer different and unusual drinks and dishes. A free plum liqueur, on the house (!) was a perfect way to end our meal. The ambience in this small space was casual, but the food level was anything but -- the jamon and fabada were especially fine. Vermuts and ciders are a house specialty and all we sampled were delicious!

We were running late but the hotel called ahead and El Chigre 1769 honoured our booking. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. they recommended great dishes. We also tried the house vermouth. The atmosphere was vibrant and it was noted that people kept trying to enquire if there were tables free. I strongly recommend booking.

10/10My second time at the restraint lovely food and ambience to go with it and through in Priorat wine is perfect. We had Turbot fresh and cooked to perfection. Love the Russian salad and signature octopus. Good specials board .....if I lived in Barcelona would visit very often.

10/10Service was great, even though we were a party of 5 and only one person ordered alcoholic drinks. They were really great at suggesting us what is fresh and what are their popular dishes. We had a great time. Especially enjoyed their grilled octopus, black rice plate, and grilled whole fish. Keep in mind the bill is higher than usual.
