10/10This is the first review I have ever made but felt compelled to do so. This meal rated as our best in Barcelona. The food and service were both excellent and of tremendous value. Such a lovely evening all around.

9.5/10El Salón offered delicious food and a unique atmosphere. Dishes ordered were grilled sea bass as a main course and a walnut bread with Iberian ham as a starter. Lemon basil sorbet was a lovely dessert to end our meal.. Service was pleasant and courteous. Our only drawback to the evening was not finding it as quickly as we had thought. So from being walking distance from our hotel, we ended up having to resort to taking a cab to get us there. Needless to say we realized it was our fault to because we missed a right turn. This place is a true gem so close to our hotel.

10/10What an amazing restaurant, gorgeous food, attentive waiters, fine wines. Outside looks plain but the inside is very different, with a mix of jazz music, fine food and drink, served by excellent waiters, the food is to die for we both had avocado and anchovies which was delicious, then my wife had the sea bass and I had the squid with black rice both of which were excellent, for desserts we both had the cheesecake. We have eaten all over the world, and I cannot say that I have eaten better food anywhere, even in 5*+ hotels. Go there, eat there,Enjoy good food ..

10/10Not been to El Salon for about ten years but very pleased to say, it’s still excellent. Very friendly staff, excellent quality food, reasonable prices. We went with visitors from abroad who also loved it.

10/10Tucked away location, this restaurant has it all. The ambience was quaint in a building that was dated back to the early 1700s. the food was delicious and the service was superb. Mark’s linguistic flexibility helped us through the menu where the food was absolutely delicious And the experience was delightful in a relaxed and comfortable setting.

10/10El Salon is a small friendly restaurant with a lovely ambience. We booked this for my husbands birthday and were so impressed that we booked it again for our last night in Barcelona. The staff are both friendly and courteous and the food was excellent, we had the Burata starter with tomatoes and pesto which was delicious and we both had the cod for our main course which was memorable. From our table I could see into the kitchen and was impressed to see the number of dishes being delivered, as the restaurant is small, they have tables in the nearby courtyard. The food style is more bistro than traditional Spanish. Well worth a visit

9/10Lovely venue, great staff, good food. Unfortunately a little salty for me, too much soy, lacking in vegetarian options but we had two fussy teens who weren’t keen on the options. If you are lucky enough to not have fussy eaters (or dietary challenges) I would recommend it.

9.5/10This was hands down the best meal I had on my whole 2 week vacation. I cannot recommend this place enough. I had the stuffed salmon and it was incredible. The flavours came together in such an amazing way that I will be thinking about this meal for years to come. It’s a shame that this is our last night in Barcelona as I would definitely have come back here tomorrow to try some more of the items on their menu. The presentation was also excellent. Kudos to the chef!

10/10Only had a few hours in Barcelona and found this little gem through google maps. Read the reviews, and checked out the menu on their website and decided to take a chance. We were not disappointed. A very nice cosy restaurant with nice decor, very attentive staff, English speaking when needed and food was good quality, tasty and nice portions. It’s a little bit away from the tourist spots which made for a more authentic experience. Will come again.

10/10I love this restaurant! I first visited in 2013 and when I returned to Barcelona this year, I couldn’t wait to eat there again. Even though I was not feeling well on the day I visited, I didn’t want to miss out. The staff were friendly and patient with me and I still very much enjoyed the food. The ambiance is lovely; a relaxed and charming restaurant in a side-street of the gothic quarter, with some of the best food I have ever eaten. I will be back again next time I’m in Barcelona, hopefully in better health :)

10/10Gorgeous little restaurant hidden away in the old town. Food was excellent and a bit different. We shared a salad, ham pear mozzarella and rocket to start. I had salmon with Gorgonzola and tomato jam, my husband tuna with oriental veg. Would definitely recommend and staff were lovely. English spoken.

10/10This small idyllic restaurant was great. I book fairly late for a large group and they remained extremely nice and open. The food is amazing for a good price . Highly recommend and I would come back. Their wine selection and menu diversity was also great!
