A restaurant that does not cater to tourists but instead radiates a genuinely local atmosphere shaped around its regular guests. The setting is typically tavern-style, unpretentious and not designed to impress at first glance. The waiters and staff project a warm, friendly attitude while still giving you enough space to enjoy your meal in peace. A good choice for those who want to experience authentic local cuisine in an everyday, no-frills environment without unnecessary pretension.

10/10 recommend for a solo dinner for any dude solo traveling. Literally the roasted pork was phenomenal and the service was excellent as well!

Great suckling pig. We went with a group of friends for a long, delicious lunch and everything was delicious. The staff all indulged our terrible Spanish and the food didn't disappoint.

Excellent food. The cochinillo is the best! Very good customer service. Staff take pride of what they do. We noticed a lot of locals eating there so you know it is not touristy but a genuine Madrid gem.

This is my second time in Madrid with my family, and I made a point of bringing them to El Senador. The service is incredible, the food is wonderful, and the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. I have a 2-year-old niece, and the staff were very attentive. I will definitely return.

Wonderful staff, authentic Spanish food. We were on vacation with a large family and they were able to accomodate us. We didn't know exactly what to order since we wanted to try the traditional lamb and suckling pig. Our Spanish is not so good. Didn't know exactly how much to order and what sides, etc. So we left it to the staff who took excellent care of us from the wine to the desserts. One of our favorite restaurants of the entire trip. Thanks so much!

The worst service I have ever received in my life. Purposefully charged the wrong price for menu items and had to ask for the bill three times over the course of 45 minutes. Food is absolutely amazing, but I think they take advantage of non-native speakers

The staff was amazing, the food was beyond compare. We had the cuchinillo and some lamb chops. Easily the best lamb chops that we have ever had. The cuchinillo was superb also. We absolutely will visit any time we are in Madrid!

THE FOOD WAS FABULOUS. Our server Jesus was fabulous & very fun. The presentation of our roast suckling pig was great. We loved this so much. The crispy salad was perfect. The wine was a perfect choice for the four of us. The surprise small dessert drinks deliscous and the birthday dessert and chocolate added more good memories to our visit to El Senador. We would definitely go again and recommend. From our little travel group of four, from Ontario, Canada

Service is decent but not exceptional! Their specialty roasted pig is very moist, crispy and delicious! Squid we ordered was excellent as well.

We ordered the signature dishes of roast lamb and suckling pig, the pig was just edible, the lamb was cremated but cold. We had ordered a nice bottle of wine so we enjoyed that and wrote the food off to experience. For a Saturday night the restaurant was empty, having suffered the food I can understand why.

The food was excellent! We ordered a cochinillo, Callos de Madrilena and drink. Tasty! The service was awesome, the owner himself entertained us.. very friendly and funny.

we had the sheep for 2 and it was incredible, the wine selection is great. the servuce was also very good. we had a very good evening! will definitely come again.

We travel to Madrid on yearly basis and are always looking for authentic environment with quality food. Today our expectations were exceeded with service. And the best tomato salad with al little oil and salt, cochinillo with potatoes and freshest melon for desert. For sure we’ll be back on our next trip!

Booking was easy, the staff was nice despite the language barrier, they were all wearing a smile and just happy to serve.The Cochinillo was delicious and the cod melts in your mouth. It was a good dining experience.
