10/10Capranica is one of the very best restaurants in Rome. We came here on a recommendation and really didn’t expect to love it as much as we did. My husband and I shared the lasagna as a starter and it was the best lasagna we had in Rome (probably ever). Then we ordered the chicken with potatoes. It’s served almost like a franchise with proccuito and cheese. I would have never ordered this dish because who orders chicken in Italy but it came recommended and omg it’s the best chicken I’ve ever had. We loved it so much we made reservations to go back again and the second time was just as good. For reference we took a trip to Rome for 35 days and tried soooo many restaurants and this one along with one other is a true special gem. Please try the chicken and lasagna. You won’t be sorry.

10/10We visited twice this trip to Rome as this was definitely the best tasting meals for a reasonable Rome price. The staff were amazing and helpful. I am still thinking of each course I had the two times we visited. This is the type of place which will be in my dreams. We can’t wait to return. It’s hard to say it was best meals we had in Rome but it was both times. Others came close but this was the star among the rest.

10/10Everything from the server, to the food and the ambiance made for a very special dinner. I especially liked the beef carpaccio and the pasta carbonara, finished with a delicious flan type dessert topped with cherries. On this wonderful night we were serenaded by a piano player playing great classic songs. (I believe he plays Friday through Sunday). I highly recommend the restaurant.

Enoteca e Taverna Capranica was a hidden gem in the heart of Rome! Tucked away on a quiet street, it felt like a special find among the city's many dining options. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the food was outstanding. The truffle gnocchi, in particular, was absolutely incredible. It was one of the best meals we had during our trip. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an authentic and memorable Roman dining experience.

10/10We got a lovely table in an alcove next to the piano and overlooking the terrace. Food was great and service excellent. Hostess was very gracious and went out of her way to accommodate despite restaurant being very busy

10/10This is an authentic enoteca with excellent food, wine, and digestives. We always come in every time we are in Rome. Warm, romantic atmosphere, excellent service, delicious food (with which dietary restrictions such as gluten and lactose can be easily accommodated), and a huge selection of wines, grappas, etc, at very reasonable prices.

The food, wine and atmosphere were our favorites of the trip. I was relaxed without being elusive. We enjoy the grilled vegetables appetizer, the bruschetta for 3 and four of the pasta dishes, including the pasta with asparagus, which was outstanding. The wine selections was also enjoyed by all. We will return.

7.5/10Capranica is a gorgeous and spacious restaurant that feels dipped in luxury and the olden times. The service is as polite as you’d expect, and it’s easy to relax and get carried away in the delicate background piano music. The food however, is blah, I’m sorry to say. Nothing we had was of any real substance; nothing had the real taste you’d expect from a restaurant in Italy, with such tremendous history no less. It’s unfortunate - it would have been lovely to have a great experience bursting with flavors in such beautiful surroundings, but it simply doesn’t seem to be the case here.

Hard to think of a more perfect place to spend a slow afternoon with friends. Simple food, beautifully cooked, good wines, attentive service and a great relaxed ambience. World class Cace e Pepe, perfect Carciofi, beef exactly right, etc. Slow, joy.
