We found this off the beaten path gem this afternoon. We enjoyed everything, from the ambiance to the service and the food. We had the carpaccio, squash blossoms, Amatricania and Carbonara…all were amazing.

The food was excellent. The menu include the usual Roman grand classics but also several unique dishes. Perfectly prepared. Quiet location in the Trastevere neighborhood. Recommended.

Excellent. Came recommended by my son. Didn’t disappoint. Food & service was excellent. Very reasonable priced. We had the house red wine which was very nice. Would highly recommend.

This has become my favorite restaurant in Rome. Every 3 months when I revisit extraordinary Rome I have lunch or dinner or both at Evo Hosteria. Why? Because the food is exceptional. It’s always excellent. And it’s quiet. So if you like a noisy place, this isn’t for you. However, if you want a relaxed, civilized, warm, respectful atmosphere where you can hear your dinner companions or yourself think, and you want something really better than the usual, this is a lovely, rewarding place.

+2We had our New Year's Eve Dinner here. It's a relatively small intimate space that was fully packed. We had the 6 course menu, every course was packed with flavour and delicious, the timing of each course was perfect as well, we were not overly stuffed and had time to enjoy the food. The pork dish in particular was great.

Cannot speak highly enough of our dining experience tonight at Evo Hosteria Trastevere. Absolutely a memory we will take home with us to last forever as a part of our trip to Rome. The welcome the service the atmosphere were brilliant but the food was incredible. Simple, powerfully delicious offerings and to be honest I can still taste and savour the flavour of the grilled octopus.!! An unassuming outside hides a show stopping inside without pretence but full of impact. The people, the warmth of the venue and the incredible food make this a must do that may not appear on every search engine top ten list …..but please trust me it should be!!! Thank you to all the people involved in making this something that I will tell everyone about. A must do!! Thanks soooo much Steve

Wonderful experience - the dishes were perfectly prepared (all 12!) and the service was superb. Lovely spot a bit away from the mayhem; great wine list, friendly staff. The risotto was heavenly.

Been here 10+ times, very authentic and carefully curated menu. Get the papardella, you won’t regret it. The service is also great and unlike the many tourist traps in the area.

from start to finish a great experience! my first no Michelin restaurant in Roma and everything was great, the bread was one of the best in Rom! It’s a bit off the crowded streets of Trastevere, so if you prefer it a bit calmer, that is the palace to go to. Had the octopus for antipasti, the gnocchi bacala and the bacala as well, everything extremely nice!!! Just come to this restaurant and you will be pleased and if you’re not satisfied, you don’t have any experience in food 😁

+6What a memorable evening having dinner at EVO with our family for our last night in Rome. The owners and staff were so hospitable and we had a wonderful meal. What an amazing little gem! Really Italian food, cooked by an Italian chef, born in Italy and who does justice to the art of Italian cooking. Don’t waste your time and hard earned money going to those tourist traps filled with foreign “want to be chefs” that started as plate washers and become “chef” in less than one year. EVO is a wonderful spot for authentic Italian modern cuisine. Every plate we had was divine, full of flavour but not overly flavourful that you no longer taste the meat or the fish you are having. I had the cod and it was delicious. The pappardelle was delicious as was the octopus. I wish I could post pictures of the meals. We have 8 different plates and a wonderful bottle of wine and we enjoyed everything. Congrats to the team at EVO! Bravo! We will be back the next time we are in Roma.

This was some of the best pasta my family and I have ever eaten!

The restaurant tries hard to look refined: crisp linen napkins, well-dressed waiters, and a classy setting. But everything fell apart in the kitchen. We had a pasta and a risotto to start. The pasta was passable but uninspired. The risotto was thin and topped with outdated stripes of white sauce straight out of the 1980s – more gimmick than gastronomy. For the main course, we ordered a pork Wellington. The dough was raw on the inside, the cheese between the layers hadn’t melted, yet the pork itself was almost overcooked. A dish like that requires technical skill, and it simply wasn’t there. The bread served was four dry slices that clearly hadn’t been cut that day – stale and unworthy of any restaurant, let alone one in this price range. To make matters worse, the two waiters kept pacing the floor while constantly clicking their pens. A small detail, yes, but incredibly distracting and stressful during what was supposed to be.

The environment is clean and tidy, the food is actually pretty good, maybe it's a taste issue, we think it's a bit salty overall, the service is pretty good

The food was good. I think it was best pasta I’ve had on this trip. The duck breast was good but still not best. The service was good. I was happy.

This small hosteria has become our favorite restaurant in Rome. After my wife and my lunch at Evo today, I can say that each meal is delicious and beautifully presented. Evo is not your typical tourist type of Roman restaurant. It’s a special little place.
