10/10Wonderful experience - the dishes were perfectly prepared (all 12!) and the service was superb. Lovely spot a bit away from the mayhem; great wine list, friendly staff. The risotto was heavenly.

10/10Been here 10+ times, very authentic and carefully curated menu. Get the papardella, you won’t regret it. The service is also great and unlike the many tourist traps in the area.

10/10from start to finish a great experience! my first no Michelin restaurant in Roma and everything was great, the bread was one of the best in Rom! It’s a bit off the crowded streets of Trastevere, so if you prefer it a bit calmer, that is the palace to go to. Had the octopus for antipasti, the gnocchi bacala and the bacala as well, everything extremely nice!!! Just come to this restaurant and you will be pleased and if you’re not satisfied, you don’t have any experience in food 😁

+6What a memorable evening having dinner at EVO with our family for our last night in Rome. The owners and staff were so hospitable and we had a wonderful meal. What an amazing little gem! Really Italian food, cooked by an Italian chef, born in Italy and who does justice to the art of Italian cooking. Don’t waste your time and hard earned money going to those tourist traps filled with foreign “want to be chefs” that started as plate washers and become “chef” in less than one year. EVO is a wonderful spot for authentic Italian modern cuisine. Every plate we had was divine, full of flavour but not overly flavourful that you no longer taste the meat or the fish you are having. I had the cod and it was delicious. The pappardelle was delicious as was the octopus. I wish I could post pictures of the meals. We have 8 different plates and a wonderful bottle of wine and we enjoyed everything. Congrats to the team at EVO! Bravo! We will be back the next time we are in Roma.

The restaurant tries hard to look refined: crisp linen napkins, well-dressed waiters, and a classy setting. But everything fell apart in the kitchen. We had a pasta and a risotto to start. The pasta was passable but uninspired. The risotto was thin and topped with outdated stripes of white sauce straight out of the 1980s – more gimmick than gastronomy. For the main course, we ordered a pork Wellington. The dough was raw on the inside, the cheese between the layers hadn’t melted, yet the pork itself was almost overcooked. A dish like that requires technical skill, and it simply wasn’t there. The bread served was four dry slices that clearly hadn’t been cut that day – stale and unworthy of any restaurant, let alone one in this price range. To make matters worse, the two waiters kept pacing the floor while constantly clicking their pens. A small detail, yes, but incredibly distracting and stressful during what was supposed to be.

10/10This small hosteria has become our favorite restaurant in Rome. After my wife and my lunch at Evo today, I can say that each meal is delicious and beautifully presented. Evo is not your typical tourist type of Roman restaurant. It’s a special little place.

9.5/10We discovered this restaurant a few years ago on the Fork and went back twice. Back in Rome again, and again we went two nights in a row because the food is that good and that interesting. I don't see their menu online - could be they change it often - but the food is unique and very tasty. This is not your tourist menu! We go to Rome quite often and wouldn't hesitate to go here again. The ambiance is plain but thoughtful, but the love is all in the cooking.

10/10We had an excellent meal here. I've tried a number of restaurants in Trastevere and generally found them to be good, but this one is a step above. The dishes are well prepared and nicely presented. I especially enjoyed the appetizer of stuffed zucchini flowers, baked rather than fried - quite original and very tasty. The service was attentive and helpful, and the atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing.

We were delighted by our first experience at EVO, beginning with the flavors and presentations of the starters- the zucchini flowers with cacio e pepe crema, the fresh burrata and the extraordinary meatballs, which may be among the best I’ve tried. I enjoyed the roast duck breast and my friends enjoyed their truffled carbonara. The wine, a Barbera di Asti DOCG, and at a very good price. We were delighted with the service and I will be back!

10/10To summarise - sempre “excellentissimo”! Forget pretentious Michelins and look no further - this is the wonderful Italian trattoria, authentic, genuine cuisine! Honestly the best restaurant in Rome if you want quality genuine Italian cooking. I miss it so much and will come again when back in Roma!

10/10YOU! YOU TOURIST READING THIS! I am from Rome alright, and do know places to eat a nice dinner. This was my first time at EVO, and EVO is now in my personal top 5 list. So don't hesitate and enjoy what I had, their cacio e pepe served with a sushi shrimp, awesome pairing!
