This restaurant in the Santa Clara neighbourhood of Coimbra is a true gem. The menu is in Portuguese only, but the owner was extremely generous to translate it to us and explained each dish. He also chose the perfect Doa red wine for us. We had the octopus and the grilled beef from Australia and they were cooked to perfection. I would guess everything on the menu is amazing! All the staff were great. Our Bolt driver also had great things to say about the chef. Do not miss this place if you’re in Coimbra.

Traveling around Portugal for the first time, and happened to find this place on our way around the country. The staff was so helpful, and the food…the food was SO good! Everything was perfectly salted and flavored. The wine and port recommendations were pitch perfect. I hope more people get to enjoy this place!

This place was delicious and super hospitable. We were clearly the only non-locals and the owner took the time to translate the menu and provide us with traditional recommendations. Our entrees were delicious and the wine called Giz was a lovely representation of Portuguese wine. Highly recommend— this place is worth the stop if you are in Coimbra!

We were on a girls trip to Portugal and looking for a restaurant to celebrate my friend's birthday. Four American women of a certain age 😁 who wanted to enjoy a night of good food good wine. Our waiter was fantastic in helping us decipher the Portuguese menu and recommending a wine selection to a company our meal. We ordered the ribeye and the garlic shrimp accompanied by the shiitake mushrooms, a salad, and french fries along with a starter of sourdough bread and the cheese plate. All of his suggestions were perfect. The Dão Portuguese wine was fantastic! We had a phenomenal evening. He even gifted my friend with a wine box that she was coveting throughout the evening. You will not go wrong by eating at this gem of a fantastic restaurant.

Feels like and is a real local place! We were recommended to eat here from a local and it didn’t disappoint. Since the menu was only in Portuguese, the owner was gracious enough to translate the entire menu and make us feel totally welcomed. Although it is not in the center of town (near the university), it was worth the trip. We loved it.

I never write reviews but felt compelled to leave a review for this restaurant. We found this place by chance and I’m so glad we came here! This ended up being one of our favorite restaurants in our 1 month stay in Europe. We didn’t know what to get (or how to read the menu) so asked the waiter for help and the chef personally came out to translate the menu and made recommendations based on questions he asked us. He also recommended excellent wine pairings when we asked for more help. He was clearly very knowledgeable and genuinely passionate about each wine he recommended. Every dish came out so so amazing. The flavors were all very well balanced and highlighted each of the star ingredients so well. We especially LOVED the beef tartare, the fried octopus was so fresh and the airy breading was the perfect complement to the tenderness of the octopus, and the rice (sorry forgot what it was called) was amazing in that rich sauce. Would 100% come back if we are ever in Coimbra again.
