Gallo Nero in Siena was one of those rare dining experiences where everything simply came together perfectly. The food was exceptional—true gourmet cuisine prepared with precision, creativity, and a deep respect for ingredients. Every dish felt thoughtfully composed and beautifully balanced. The dining room is simple and rustic, yet carefully designed with Bauhaus-style furniture and clever use of recycled materials. The result is a space that feels both elegant and relaxed. The service was nothing short of sublime. Attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm, the staff managed to be present whenever needed without ever feeling intrusive. I have dined at several multi-star Michelin restaurants that did not come close to matching the overall experience at Gallo Nero. It is a place where outstanding food, a welcoming atmosphere, and impeccable service combine to create something truly special. I’ll be back!

Very competent kitchen staff and waiters. Food was excellent. I hate to nit pick because this place is excellent and for 85 euro tasting menu is a wonderful value. Ambiance such as music, seating, seamless waiting was not quite 10/10 but still quality.

This is fucking Hogwarts of food … the owner is a crazy wizard serving the best food I ever had. Build your own menue and join the club asap.

The food was superb from the amuse bouche to the petit fours. Highlights include the chicken livers amuse bouche, the Raviolo (unbelievably good), the Lamb and the Lemon dessert. Service was excellent as is the location. Congratulations to Rocco, Chef and the team.

Very original dishes with excellent quality of produce. Not a traditional Tuscan restaurant, the latter of which there are plenty. The restaurant nevertheless uses local produce and turns it into very original and tasty dishes. I decided on a wine pairing and was not disappointed about the quality of the wines. The restaurant setting is with lovely furniture of the 70s and the service is excellent. It could do with a bit lesss formal. Overall an excellent experience and definitely worth visiting.

This was the best meal of our May 2025 trip to Tuscany—and one of the finest we've had anywhere in Italy or beyond. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and genuine enthusiasm by the proprietor, whose passion for his family’s restaurant and the building’s history added such richness to the evening. Much of the produce comes from their nearby farm, and the freshness was evident in every beautifully prepared, creative, and delicious dish. Several surprise amuse bouches throughout the meal added an extra layer of care and delight. The wine was equally outstanding. We’ll absolutely return—and would travel far just to dine here again. A true gem and the very best of Siena.

+3I have eaten in more than 50 Michelin starred restaurants in the last 16 months and this is one of the best meals I have had in Italy. From the service, attention to detail on the table, the delicious food and the great wine pairing made the experience unique. Highly recommended restaurant for any occasion.

This is THE BEST restaurant my boyfriend and I have both individually been to. Stellar service, stellar food, stellar presentation, stellar attention to detail. +1I recently had the pleasure of dining at Gallo Nero and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. From the moment we entered, Antonio and Kristina, our servers, greeted us with warm smiles and impeccable service. They were attentive, knowledgeable, and made us feel right at home. The true star of the evening, however, was the chef. The food that was presented to us was nothing short of marvelous. Each dish was beautifully plated and bursting with flavor. The chef's creativity and attention to detail were evident in every bite. Not only did the chef create delicious dishes, but they also surprised us with thoughtful presents throughout the meal. It was such a delightful touch that truly made our dining experience one to remember.

What a wonderful restaurant! We have been fortunate to have eaten in some fantastic restaurants, including some with Michelin stars and this up there with them and in some cases, much better. Friendly and efficient service, quirky but elegant surroundings and truly excellent food. Our best meal in Siena and our best meal anywhere for some time. Thank you.

Simply stunning inventive cookery. Tasting menus are available but we were very happy to choose from the a la carte.

This is dining done right. The ambiance is elegant but not stuffy. All furniture is midcentury giving the dining room a clever and thoughtful look. The service was solicitous but not overbearing. The food excellently prepared. The 5 course tasting menu plus wine pairing is an excellent value at 100Euro.

This was totally unique. Two tasting menus really stretch the boundaries of Tuscan/italian food, each small course a culinary adventure. It made for a most memorable evening.
