Great tapas and very attentive and friendly staff. I would definitely come back. Tapas were a good size and the croquetones were especially good.

My first visit to Gastrobar Mali was to test it out before taking a group that I had already made a booking for via The Fork. I had a really nice lunch. I reconfirmed my group booking with the manager while I was there, and it was already written into the diary so everything seemed OK! When I took my group to Gastrobar Mali we found we weren’t even seated at the restaurant - instead we had a makeshift table set up in front of the bike shop next door... We were offered the set menu as well as a la carte. We all went for the 14.90 EUR pp set menu. When it was time to pay the bill and while we were counting the money the manager came to the table and spoke angrily at me. She appeared to be telling me that we were not allowed the set menu (that we had been offered and already eaten) because I booked via The Fork and that the food we had eaten was worth 30EUR pp! Apparently it was because I had chosen “booking without special offer”. There was no special offer to choose on The Fork, and the default booking option is “book without special offer”. So I booked it. If the set menu was not available to us because I had booked via The Fork it should NOT have been offered to us at the restaurant. And to be shouted at for it by the manager in front of my group was very unpleasant. Then when she saw that I was getting upset she told me “no pasa nada”!!! Really? Pasa mucho. This is not the way to treat guests at a restaurant! She even marked the reservation as “not attended” on The Fork, which has meant I got an email from The Fork telling me off for not attending - when I was most definitely there being shouted at! Regarding the food: My solo lunch of salmon tartare was delicious. The set menu was OK but the paella was a bit dry, although the flavour was good. Service, aside from the rude manager, was lovely. But I won’t eat there again.
