Warm welcome to the restaurant from the staff on the roadside. We were given a choice of seats and our waiter was very friendly. The food was all beautifully presented. I had the polvo (octopus) which was delicious. My husband had T-bone steak, which although was cooked as he asked, was a little tough and stringy. We enjoyed a lovely local red wine to accompany the steak.

The staff welcomed us on our arrival. Due to the holiday season, they did not have the fresh fishes that we wanted. We ordered the codfish and octopus, which although not fresh, tasted quite good. The restaurant is located in an interesting setting (see photos). But it was a bit cold inside, maybe because of the old winter weather.

Had a fabulous night tonight food was fabulous we had the seafood rice for 2 so tasty ,cheese cake and almond and fig cake both very good ,this is our 3rd time this week can definitely recommend we are both foodies my husband being a chef for 44 years There was live music tonight so a Lovely atmosphere playing well known oldies .

We had the T-bone steak it. comes with gratin potatoes salad and sauces it was delicious can recommend restaurant been twice this week and great value with the discount the waiter is very welcoming and friendly

Had a fantastic meal here last night best meal so far in Algarve had the fish kebabs and lamb chops both were delicious and desserts were very good almond tart and chocolate fondant and was given cherry liqueur on the house .Will definitely be back fantastic value on the fork discount

It wasn’t just that the food was fabulous. (It was!) The ambiance of the restaurant was wonderful…..but the staff was the best!! The wait staff, the kitchen staff, and the wonderful chef! There were hugs all around when I left……I would definitely return and recommend this place to anyone who wants a special all round experience.

+1Tucked away behind the main hill road is an oasis of calm and surprising charm. We were helped to our table in a gorgeous round room. The table was set attractively laid with a white cloth and gleaming glasses and cutlery. Great wine menu and a superb main food menu with lots of choice including those for vegetarians and vegans. The waiters were very friendly and explained the dishes carefully. Everything we had was delicious. We had a fabulous time in a quiet dining room where we were able to talk and laugh. We can’t wait to return. Thank you Gum Tree Lounge… we loved it.

Amazing dinner at Gum Tree tonight. Fantastic food, drinks, ambiance and service. We had seafood rice and an amazing beef tartare that was the best we have ever had. We will definitely be back. This is definitely a hidden gem in Carvoeiro. They even have a very relaxing looking bar area out front that we will come back to try.

Lovely outdoor setting, Traditional Portuguese food. The food was well presented and cooked to perfection. The service was attentive and friendly.

The Gum Tree has been there under different management for years. Have avoided the place due to past experience although the setting is lovely. Someone recommended so we decided to venture. Food was excellent. A little bit of confusion when we arrived in that no one asked if we would like a drink and we sat there quite some time wondering what the set up was? Waiters were very friendly. Enjoyed the evening very much.

Honestly this was the perfect evening! Beautiful surroundings, staff with a sense of humour and some of the best food - the vongole was the best Ive ever had! Thank you for a great evening and for being so nuce to our 21 month old granddaughter x

A lovely sweet girl is welcoming you, she really does her very best. We had some drinks at the Irish pub and saw she worked very hard. So we decided to make a reservation. It all looked very promising and it really was. The whole swimming pool to ourselves:-) We had a lovely evening, the octopus tartar is the best!

Great menu great staff and lovely surroundings. I would recommend that you give it a try you won’t regret it. We will be back for sure. The house wine is lovely

Very good food we had the lamb & a surf & turf skewer a large selection of steak, chicken wrapped in bacon , fish red peppers & onions and 2 tiger prawns. The only downside was sitting round the pool at night the plate of lamb was not heated & the food cooled quickly Although the lamb was cooked perfectly. The service was a little hit & miss a busy Saturday night & being on the far side of the pool it was sometimes not easy to catch the waiters attention although they were very polite & professional during the night. The added bonus was live entertainment by a very good singer. We will be back as it was very reasonably priced.

The restaurant is almost in a garden, surrounded by trees. It is possibel to eat by a pool. The food is very good, we have stayed in Carvoeiro many years for vacation. This restaurant is one of the best

A hidden gem set off the beaten track. The food was delicious and served in beautiful surroundings. All the staff were very welcoming and incredibly helpful. Cannot wait to return.
