We had a lovely date night at Hamachi. The food was as close to Japanese food in JP as it can be. Everyone on staff was friendly, attentive, and discreet as to not interfere with our private dining. Very cosy and warm atmosphere. We enjoyed our time here and would love to make another reserveration for our next date night.

Looks basic from the outside, but it's a small restaurant with a nice setting. Can be loud with people around. Service was excellent, food was really good. Sushi rolls were fresh and the 2-person menu had very long waiting times between courses but was excellent of taste. All in all, definitely recommended to visit!

Very good and tasteful. Sashimi was excellent. Best in a long time. Very friendly staff. Worth a little detour as it is located close to historic Schiedam with its canals and monumental buildings.

Nice cosy Japanese restaurant with awesome Maki sushi. We enjoyed the maki shrimp/salmon/sea bass, tempura shrimp, spicy tuna, beef(grilled), edamame beans, yakitori, lamb chops etc. We loved them all along with the great friendly service. Make sure you make reservations.

Highly overpriced for the quality and quantity of food and service. There was no one waiting on the table, and we actually had to go at the counter on our own 3 times. Once for placing order, 2nd time for getting cutlery and then for asking for the check. In short disappointing, won;t be visiting again.

Hamachi must be one of the best Japanese restaurants in South Holland. Great food with friendly service. The surprising desserts made the dinner so perfect. We will definitely visit back soon!

I was quite surprised about the sushi - I have never been able to differentiate the flavours of a maki this clearly and deliciously, also, the makis were nice and small! Maybe this is the first time I have ever been to a place where they make proper sushi! The service was very attentive and helpful, only the English of our waitress was not enough to sufficiently communicate with 2 of my dinnermates ("What does the Sushi Selection contain?" - "Oh a selection of sushi."). With my very limited knowledge of Japanese dishes (I can't even quite memorise the types of sushi I like), the menu was a bit of a challenge to me (let alone to the English-speaking at our table), but anything I tried was absolutely excellent (like really juicy and tender beef teriyaki, avocado- & salmon makis and half of a tempura, and a bite of a Moriawase Kaisen main dish). On the sideline - I sat really comfortably and did not face the challenge of humidity on the seat when getting up from it, nice detail :-) The atmosphere is beautifully comfy, lighting and interior are undistractingly pure and simply with a touch of stylish. Very good sanitary facilities. I'll be back for sure!
