6/10I had high expectations but the food was not up standard, especially considering its Micheling affiliation. That goes in particular to the meat which was of ok quality but not cooked in a proper way with no propser searing (especially considering it is a Tuscan restaurant). Service was fine, but lack of English skills pulled it down a bit. Also, the service seemed stressed and many mistakes were made. Also, on a final note, I went there to celebrate my birthday and would have expected some type of recognition but received none. I do not recommend this restaurant and I am not sure why the Michelin guide can have it one their list since, at least at the time of my visit, the standad was not even close to what one would expect.

10/10We’ve dined at Ristorante Cesare four times now, and each visit has been a true pleasure! The food is simply fantastic – authentic, flavorful, and prepared with great love for Italian cuisine. Whether it’s their homemade pasta dishes, fresh fish, or delicious meat options, every bite has been an experience. The staff is not only skilled and attentive but also warm and welcoming, creating a wonderful atmosphere. They truly go the extra mile to make each guest feel special. Ristorante Cesare is a place we’ll always return to when we’re in Rome. Exquisite food and genuine Italian hospitality make every visit truly memorable. Thank you.

6/10Given that this restaurant was on the Michelin app, we were so excited to give it a try. Our server was not your typical friendly Italian gentleman….he was curt and rude. We had a few items that were fantastically delicious (fried squash flowers). Several items on our order were forgotten. The clam spaghetti was less than to be desired (clams were tasty but the spaghetti and sauce were almost inedible).

7.5/10The food was very good. The mushroom salad was excellent and the beans were surprisingly tasty. On arrival, we sat for nearly 30 minutes with no water before anyone came to our table. Once the waiter came by, the service was good. The part of the dining room where we sat was very warm, which detracted from our enjoyment of the meal. We may try this place again in the winter when the dining room might be cooler. We are not sure why they were not running the air conditioners near our section on this hot day. The bathrooms did, however, have air conditioning.

3.5/10I had reservation at the restaurant, unfortunately we were seated in the back with a partition and could not enjoy the ambiance of the restaurant, felt like 2nd class citizens. Very disappointing experience.

We visited this restaurant on our honeymoon. (24.06) The food, atmosphere, and service were amazing. If I ever visit Italy again, this restaurant will be the reason, especially Carbonara was fantastic. Thank you for the great memories.

10/10Amazing food in a great ITALIAN atmosphere! Had dinner (Antipasto - Primo - Secondo) and every single dish was perfect. Full of Italians, it was a pleasure to eat the real thing. Not a tourist trap, as so many in Rome.

7.5/10Ambience warm. Air conditioning only in the back of the restaurant. Poor service. Took too long to be served. They forgot to bring salad and charged for it. Waiters seem not happy and overtired. Food was very good although.

7/10Oddly mediocre. Clearly they garner the Michelin-reading tourist crowd, but the food was entirely average. The neighboring table hosted a nine year old’s birthday party- their pizza looked better than our carbonara and cacio e pepe.

4/10The service was terrible: the server clearly didn’t like us because he refused to respond to any “grazie” we said for each drink and dish he brought to our table, he didn’t even pour the wine, and generally seemed to try to avoid us. However he was happy to chat to all other customers around us. Maybe because we were Anglophone or maybe because we were tourists or maybe because one of us wasn’t white — or a combination of the above. The fritti were decent, the spaghetti vongole delicious, the watermelon ripe, house red adequate, but the swordfish spaghetti special was bland as if it lacked any seasoning or salt.

7.5/10Everything is good, except the bad experience I faced when I called for paying the bill. A service guy saw me calling for paying bill but ignored me twice. I don’t know if the guy is not responsible for my table and hence ignored me.

10/10For our first trip to Rome (and Italy), we wanted our first dinner to be a traditional Roman restaurant and this place hit all the right notes. The appetizers and dishes were among the finest we experienced, and the desserts were the best of our entire trip. I had tiramisu four times in a week and theirs was the winner--the texture was perfect and it was topped with a generous dusting of cocoa. My wife had a Roman cake (cannot remember the name) that she couldn't stop talking about all week. We highly recommend Hostaria da Cesare for experiencing traditional Roma food!

10/10Wonderful little restaurant with a wide variety of food options from pasta, pizza, fish or meats. The baked white fish with artichokes was excellent. The pasta was also well received. We intend to return this trip or next. Be sure to reserve.
