we loved the food, drank a good wine and had a good time. everybody was very warm and welcoming and had a lot of patience with our non existing Italian.

We are always in search of authentic food and experiences during our travels. The food was impeccable. I am so glad we found Hostaria del Roody. The staff were friendly and welcoming. If we were in Rome longer, we would be back another night. Hands down the best food and service we have had over multiple trips to Rome. Only positive things to say. If you find yourself in Trastevere, give these local people a try and experience authentic Italian love shown through their food and hospitality.

Fantastic restaurant off the beaten path in Trastevere. Great ambience. Nice to be away from all of the noise and crowds. Food was delicious and service was attentive.

The meal we had at Hostaria del Roody was the best meal we had in Italy. Truly exceptional. Great wine recommendation, simple food that somehow was better than the sum of its exceptional ingredients. Do not miss the burrata and pomodoro appetizer!

The service was exceptionally courteous. The pasta dishes with Pecorino cheese were not to the taste of some diners, and the restaurant replaced them with other dishes without hesitation. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was pleasant and enjoyable. The only dish we found tasty was the beef cheek. The rest of the dishes were less to my friends’ liking. In conclusion, a nice restaurant, but we’ve dined at better places.
Hostaria del RoodyGood morning, we are sorry that you did not appreciate our cuisine. unlike many other restaurants in the area we only use pecorino for the pasta, while usually half pecorino and half parmesan is used, this makes it more delicate, but it is not the original recipe. Pecorino is definitely stronger. We are waiting for you to make you think again

The food was great, very fresh and tasty, staff lovely and helpful. Their Negroamaro wine was very reasonably priced and so smooth. Shame we discovered the restaurant on the last night of our holiday, as we’d have gone there again.

+4Our family found this hidden gem on accident while we were travelling in Rome in August, and we were so glad to have found this cute little restaurant as they probably have the best service and they service very authentic Italian food. The menu has a great selection of food, we tried five different pasta dishes here and they are all very yummy. We especially love the pasta cooked with porcini mushroom, as well as the ox tail. It’s so soft and tender, and also very flavourful. My dad has hypertension and can’t have very salty food, and we are very glad that we got very attentive waiters as they will come to our table to remind my dad about which dish to avoid. They don’t speak very good English but they try their best to communicate with us. I will give them a five star for their outstanding service and great food.

Our family ate here last summer and had a great experience, so we had to revisit when we were back in Florence this year. The staff readily met our request to put our group of seven in the back room (the same place we were last year), and delivered great, personalized service! The menu has so many great options (it easily met the needs of everyone in our group) and the food is some of the best we've had in Florence. I had the gnocchi with clams, and it was probably the best dish I had all week. It's on a side street out of the hustle and bustle of Florence, so it feels almost like a "hidden secret."

One of the best food experiences in Rome! The food was incredible and we loved the local less touristy vibe. The Amatriciana pasta was unbelievably good as well as the filete al funghi. Amazing place!

A lovely find away from the main street. Our server was absolutely outstanding he was so kind and easygoing with us. we recommend the aubergine rolls to start. Everything was well cooked and tasty

Charming restaurant tucked a little away from the busier alleys of Trastevere with some of the best food we had in Rome. The whole sea bass we ordered was delicious as was the filet and porcini mushroom entree. The staff are very sweet and accommodating; great service! Fantastic wine menu with great options at every price. The house wines were very enjoyable.

I felt pressure to finish my meal, as restaurant was full and there were some other people waiting. They asked another customer to pay and leave as other clients were waiting. Its not nice.

I have been a lot of places in Rome, and all over the world. By all accounts Hostaria del Roody is an amazing restaurant. The staff/servers were first class. We asked them to choose lots of appetizers for everyone and they did not dissapoint. They were kind, took great care of us, and every dish was amazing. Beautiful space indoor and out too. 10/10

The tonnarelli pasta with pecorino sauce was delicious. Our filet smothered with mushrooms was also delicious and done perfectly. Our server was excellent all in all a great experience.

Restaurant is in a quiet little street away from the busy area of Trastevere. The staff were so welcoming and attentive. The were great at helping us with selections and patient with the fact that we don’t know much Italian. We had three pastas to share - Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe, Bombolotti all’Amatriciana, and the Spaghettoni fatti in casa alla Carbonara. For a secondi to share, we ordered the filet with porcini mushrooms. Everything we amazing! Pastas were perfectly cooked, the flavors were incredible. You could have made tell that the ingredients were high quality, not over-seasoned and clearly cooked in a way to showcase the dishes perfectly. We are only in town for a week and a half but will be back again before we leave, just so we can try more items on the menu.

Took forever to get dessert, then we was rushed to eat it to make room for new guests.
Hostaria del Roodydear kristian, we brought you the dessert immediately and only after finishing it did we ask you if you wanted anything else! at this point we brought you the bill out of respect for all the people who were waiting in line to eat! as you ate and enjoyed the evening I think it's right to be able to let other people do it too! that's all, thanks anyway

Peter was our waiter, and he was funny, informative, and made great recommendations. The ambiance was very romantic. It is a nice quiet part of Trastevere, but close enough to all the action. Truly was a spectacular place. The caccio di pepe was REALLY good. The lamb though, spectacular.
