The food was absolutely disgusting, one of the dishes we ordered was a chicken breast and was smelling like it expired three days ago. Very cheap ingredients, just a tourist trap.

The food at this restaurant was good; we had starters and a pasta dish. We were the only diners for most of the evening. The young staff seemed inexperienced and not sure what they were doing. There were problems with the card machine when we came to pay.

An amazing dining experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. There’s a great variety on the menu, so everyone can easily find something they’ll love. The atmosphere is very pleasant and welcoming, making it perfect for both a relaxed meal and special occasions. On top of that, the service was friendly, attentive, and professional. Highly recommended — definitely a place worth coming back to!

Our experience at Hosteria il Caminetto Firenze was mixed. The staff were polite and the environment was relatively quiet, which made the dinner more comfortable, especially given the location so close to the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore. The highlight of the night was surprisingly the chips—crispy, flavourful, and easily the best part of the meal. Unfortunately, the Chianina steak was quite disappointing. It lacked seasoning, wasn’t juicy or tender, and while you could tell you were eating meat, it was hard to recognise it as a premium Chianina cut. For the price point, the value for money felt low, especially when compared with other options in Florence offering much better quality. The restaurant certainly has potential, but the execution of the main dish needs improvement to match the expectations set by the location and the cuisine. Overall, a quiet place with polite service, but the food—especially the steak—could be significantly improved.

The pasta was great. The staff were really friendly.

We ate at the terrace and people were smoking. Asked if we could sit more distant, but this was not possible, because those tables were for more than 2 persons? Later on through they seperated the two tables when only two persons came. Waiter was a bit rude. The food was cold when it was served. All in all too expensive for what we received in return. I do not recommend the restaurant.

Very good restaurant and we had incredible steak there. The salads were also good. Me and my husband enjoyed it very much and we would highly recommend this place for a dinner. The only downside was music (we would prefer something more romantic instead of pop), but it’s a matter of personal preference. The staff was very welcoming.

It is very good and quiet restaurant in the heart of Florence’s historic center. Having learned from experience about the generous size of the Florentine steak, we decided to share a small green salad as an appetizer. For the main course, we had the Bistecca alla Fiorentina con filetto “Chianina I.G.P.” from Tuscany. Chianina is an Italian breed of large white cattle, and the steak was truly amazing and it was exceeding all our expectations!”
