Il Baretto in Porto Rotondo offers one of the most beautiful views, and at sunset, it’s pure magic. The service is excellent and genuinely welcoming, without the pretentiousness you sometimes find in the area. The food was very good (the hummus is a must-try—OMG!), although the menu is a bit limited in options. The only downsides were the €10 per person service charge, which adds a bit to the bill—though it’s roughly equivalent to what you’d pay for tips in the U.S.—and the fact that the restaurant is a bit hard to find, as there are no signs indicating its location and it’s rather hidden, in my opinion. Overall, it’s an excellent choice for a fancy night out.

We dined as a couple at Il Baretto (“the little bar” in inglese), Porto Rotondo, Sardinia, on a Friday evening in late June. We arrived on time for our 7:00 PM (1900 ora) reservation and had our choice of tables on a piazzeta overlooking the Porto Rotondo yacht basin. The view of the yacht basin and of the nearby open sea was delightful. For our meal, we chose insalata mixte, Baretto’s version of pasta carbonara (oversized rigatoni noodles and peppery pancetta - yum!), frittura di calamari e gamberi (squid and small prawns, locally sourced), and sparkling wine by the glass. Our dessert choice, fresh mango slices in a delicate sauce with pastry crumbles), was especially memorable. To walk to Il Baretto, pay careful attention to the Google Maps App on your phone. It is located on the Piazza Rudalza but there is no directive signage on nearby streets and alleys. Il Baretto shares floor space on the piazzeta with another restaurant, Deste. A third ristorante, Paramare, is situated below.

We had one of the best seafood pasta dishes I have ever had. It was unique and exceptional. The fish was very fresh and also very good. Great staff. Very friendly. I will return very soon.

### Four-Star Review for Il Baretto in Porto Rotondo During my recent visit to Il Baretto in Porto Rotondo, I had a delightful culinary experience. The location is incredibly welcoming, with a beautiful terrace that offers a breathtaking view of the sea. The meal began with an appetizer of hand-cut tuna tartare, served with various accompaniments on the side. This dish was exquisitely prepared and is highly recommended for tuna enthusiasts. The fregola with shellfish was also delectable. The shellfish reduction and the fresh gambero created a fantastic combination that truly pleased my palate. The wine list is small but intriguing, featuring many local wines. The Vermentino Katala from the house of Tondoni was delightful. Overall, Il Baretto offers a wonderful dining experience with its excellent food, warm hospitality, and stunning seaside views.
