A nice location in the historic center of Viterbo. The staff was welcoming and kind. We enjoyed a primo of tonnarelli with black truffle and a generous topping of guanciale. Per the secondo, unfortunately the rabbit was a bit dry, but my husband thoroughly enjoyed his fagioli con cotiche.

We visited Il Gargolo for dinner as recommended by our accommodation hosts, and had a wonderful time there. It was a special dinner as my partner and I were celebrating 20 years of our relationship with the two friends who are accompanying us in our trip to Italy. Food, wine, service and value for money were all top at Il Gargolo, we even were serenaded by a local piano accordion player at the end of our meal, it was a memorable experience for all. We were a group of 14 "Irish Pilgrims " walking the Via de Frangcigena, our hotel had recommended Il Gargolo for our evening meal. From the moment we went through the front door, we had the most wonderful experience, from the warm welcome we received to the really magnificent food. We would all highly recommend this restaurant.

My waitress made it a very pleasant experience. I visited twice. Made sure I got the Beet Risotto with beautiful Cheese each time... Quaint lovely place!!!

Pasta tartuffo and there was some Meat(Pork) with. I cant remember the name but fantastic pasta!!!!! It was 10+. Wonderful service, so nice people working there!!!!! Good wines.

The food is excellent, prepared and presented with care. Both the interior and the outside patio by the fountain are lovely. The service though is what makes this place so special: friendly, knowledgeable and ready to go the extra mile. We really wanted to eat outside, but it started to rain during our meal, so they quickly moved us under a canopy and brought our food out under umbrellas - even the bread stayed perfectly dry!

An absolutely fabulous meal from start to finish. We all received a very warm welcome, dietary needs were considered and expertly catered for with suggestions on dishes of the day. The range of food was amazing with 12 very happy diners. Every dish was beautifully presented and extremely tasty and very moreish. Complementary shots arrived at the end leaving us feeling well cared for, appreciated and very satisfied. And best of all, everything was reasonably priced. A definite recommendation from our party. Thank you.

My carbonara was wayyy too salty. The saltiest pasta and carbonara I’ve had living in Italy for a year. Everything else was good.
