9.5/10The food was excellent. I ordered the pork dish with roasted potatoes. It was one of the best meals on our 5 week trip throughout Italy. Highly recommend.

5/10We are vegan, the waiter had zero interest in helping us select food the could be adapted. We made our own adaptations, he dumped our food on the table and we never saw him again. After about half an hour another waitress came by and actually was willing to help us with dessert and coffee.

10/10We arrived earlier than we had booked (12:30 instead of 1:00 on a Sunday), and it wasn’t busy (yet) so they accommodated us without a problem. By the time we left around 1:30 it was quite packed. Greeter and wait staff were all friendly and new English quite well. My 16-yr-old son and I ordered 2 pizzas which were served very quickly - both were excellent, delicious and cooked to perfection - thin crust crispy (not burnt/crunchy) on the outside and a bit softer toward the middle. The number of pizza options were staggering - 4-6 pages worth. One pizza each was enough to fill both of us. My 16-year-old said “best pizza he’s ever had”. If your group needs variety, there’s much more than just pizza on the menu and we can’t speak for those options, but if the pizza is any indication of the quality ingredients and cooking mastery, you will not be disappointed.

8/10Overall we had good impression, most of the dishes come very fast, but they didn’t come out in right order (starting foccacia came in the middle of eating main dish). Grilled octopus was great but arrived once others already fished their meal, it was worth to wait, but shouldn’t be like that. Rissoto had very fatty becon and kids didn’t want to eat it, even rissoto as such was good. Tagliata from chicken was the best dish on our table, foccacia also was good.

8/10Thin crusty pizza, several options. Fast service (maybe too fast, a bit of more care for each customer would be nice), you feel a bit in a fast food scheme. Good and tasty pizza but nothing extraordinary.

10/10While on a day trip to Assisi, I looked for a restaurant close to Piazza Comune. We were a group of 8 ladies and il Menestrella was a perfect fit.. No only was the setting very unique surrounded by ancient stone walls..there was even a room with glass floors so you could observe the Roman ruins below while dining!! The food choices were a good fit for our group - 2 needed gluten and lactose free items.. they had both available - gluten free bread & pasta and sauces with no cream or cheese. So everyone was able to order what they wanted.. The restrooms are also very nice & clean. Highly recommend this dining venue when you are in Assisi..

8.5/10Their pizza was delicious. Great, generous caprese! Service came quick on first course but slow on an additional pizza we ordered. Super cool atmosphere with the ancient brick building. Bonus - she brought us olive oil for the bread.

10/10The best food we’ve eaten in the entire week of travel. Ordered mixed radicchio salad, chicken with pear & honey was tasty, tender & moist. Had to try their pizza, ordered with shaved truffles on thin crust, excellent. The 1st restaurant that served balsamic vinegar & olive oil with their bread. Delicious, portions are good and reasonably prized. The ambience is very elegant. Highly recommend.

9.5/10Very friendly staff and nice atmosphere. The food was very good, the pizzas were very large with crispy bases and good toppings. Prices were very reasonable for the quality. Recommend if you are in Assisi.

10/10Gorgeous interior - as if you are in a beautiful castle! They have an astounding number of pizza choices and their crust is delicious! Also had a salad with pear beets and Gorgonzola - Yum! The prices are reasonable, ambience is great and food delicious!

10/10It was very busy the night we were there, and yet, the staff remained patient & helpful; ever-friendly. Inside of restaurant is lovely and the food was delicious. I am celiac and there were several options for me on the menu. Definitely a must-visit if you are in Assisi.

9/10A really nice meal. And not just a pizzeria as I thought initially, although the very thin crusted pizzas looked scrumptious. Maybe we’ll try them in a few days. Very atmospheric setting with a large Roman wall dividing the dining room. Seating was probably too close considering pandemic restrictions, but I’ll forgive them for that. Well worth a try. You might need reservations.

8/10We ate here 3 times during our time in Assisi as it is one of the best we found. Not super touristy, good food & reasonable. I would have given higher based on first & second visit but on third visit I got the lamb tartufo for the 2nd time and it was cold when served and portion was very small and full of bones so not very much meat at all. If I was rating on 1st time I would have rated higher.

10/10Proper pizza in a tourist town is always tough to find, but this place mostly delivered it. I say 'mostly', because I could tell that the ingredients used were not of the most luxurious variety. Great service, nice atmosphere.
