10/10Each of us really enjoyed our meals - pasta with wild boar was a standout and polenta appetizer. Absolutely loved the candlelit ambiance (real candles!) - will be back before our trip is over. Highly recommend.

The food was good. The service was a bit rushed and some food was taken away before we finished. Also, we didn't get the 30% discount by booking through The Fork. We paid full.price. Not value for money unfortunately.

10/10We found this restaurant 4 years ago and we go back every year, the service, the food, and the ambiance is fantastic! Since going every year on our yearly trips to Florence, the manager Klevis recognizes us of which I really appreciate. Nina our server was fantastic on a personal note.

10/10The staff was extremely accommodating in cooking our Florentine steak little more to our liking. Anyone familiar with Florentine steak knows it is served very rare and the staff was wonderful about not making us feel uncomfortable with our preference.

5/10We've been coming here for 8 years and it was always at the top of our list...a must visit for us, our family and friends. Sorry to say that the food quality and preparation has fallen drastically out of favour. Doesn't appear to be sufficient skill in the kitchen any longer. Beef and pasta dishes are poor and appetizers are tasteless and awkwardly presented. So sorry to see you go Il Paiolo...perhaps success has destroyed another Florence institution.

Really good food, service and location. You hear stories about how it’s tourist-priced, but to be honest, even if you walk further out, the prices are similar—maybe €4/5 cheaper. For the portion size and quality of the food, it was bellisimo. The fillet I ordered was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, followed by the potatoes and the garlic butter spinach. The Bolognese was tomato-rich and delicious, and the wild boar was full of flavours.

10/10Michele and the staff were excellent. We got the bruschetta and octopus to start and they were both the best we’ve had in Italy. We shared a steak and gnocchi for our main and born weee delicious. Great place to eat while in Florence for sure!

5.5/10We were so looking forward to our meal, after all the hype about this restaurant! Arrived, and it took a while to get our order in, and get a glass of wine. Ok, so anticipation still high, my fillet arrived, and was so sinewy, I had trouble cutting through it!! I complained, and a second one was made, only to be exactly the same! My friend, who had ordered the steak with greens and Parmesan, was given hers, a pale gray color, which not only looked anemic, but certainly didn’t live up to their reputation! The roast potatoes were anemic too!! !the staff was friendly enough, but it didn’t make up for the experience!!

6.5/10We had reservations but we had to wait 30 minutes to be sitted . Inside the restaurant was very nice, romantic, they had a great wine selection .We ordered tomato bruschetta, salad, steak and grilled vegetables . Everything was great except the most important dish. Our steaks looked beautiful but impossible to eat , it was 90% fat , barely any meat on it, difficult to chew. After couple of bites I gave up , I only ate my salad and the vegetables, they were good, I guess you can’t go wrong with that ( salad comes without any dressing, you have to mix it on your on with evoo and balsamic vinegar)and when the waiter asked how was my food I told him exactly how I felt about it, to my surprise he didn’t even offer something else or a refund. He simply said that’s how it is. I’m not a complainer neither is my husband, but we both were very disappointed:( For a restaurant like that I would expect a better service, unfortunately I will never go back.
