+2Beautiful location with panoramic views of Bergamo old and new town. Warm welcome, well presented Varied menu offering a choice of local & regional specialty dishes, freshly cooked with local ingredients. Staff attentive and knowledgeable. Wine cellar a must see!

Absolutely beautiful quiet place with a stunning view. The photos don’t even make it justice. I went with my friends on a holiday on my birthday and it was the perfect evening. Difficult to access without a car unless you’re into a big climb. Super recommend this gem.

Il Pianone is a gorgeous family-run restaurant in a family home in Bergamo Alta. It was a special birthday for my husband and we were met by Carlotta who showed us to our table in the expansive garden with an outstanding view! Surprise bubbly, a delicious meal and a lovely ice cream birthday cake awaited us. Friends arranged the lunch and Carlotta was lovely to make our lunch so special. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Without a doubt, this is the best restaurant in Bergamo. The combination of excellent service, delicious food, and stunning views creates a truly unforgettable experience. They offer a wide selection of high-quality wines, including some of the finest Tuscan varieties. The regional cuisine is so delightful that you'll find yourself wanting more.

We always expect great food in Italy, but this was above and beyond. We will long remember the wonderful meal at Il Pianone, along with the spectacular view and great service. This is a must in Bergamo.

The view is absolutely breathtaking, and the food was exquisite.. totally beautiful ambience from start to finish

+6Basically the food was good, with the exception of one dish (calf's liver) which was cooked too long, it's a pity that no-one took any notice of this, although we told the waiter nicely. The rest of the food was very well presented and good. The ambience is very pleasant, in summer the garden and terrace must be fantastic, as well as the view of the city

The view is gorgeous and we really liked the service. The food is very disappointing, nothing from what we ordered was even close to delicious.

+1Friends from Norway recomended The restaurant and we were not dissapointed. Very tasteful food (aperitif, second course and dessert with ditto wines). The atmosphere was excellent and we loved the ambience with the beautiful view.

Fantastic view over the surroundings- come before sunset. Food was top quality-enjoyed tuna tartar and t bone steak with a good chianti. Very friendly service.

Nice location. Food was delicious Unfortunately, there was a wedding with music blasting all through our dinner. I am guessing this is an unusual occurrence. It would have been outstanding otherwise

The restaurant is set in a truely picturescue location controlling almost 360 degree views over Bergamo and the beautiful surrounding hills. The service, food and wine are exceptional with really friendly staff who are profesional and really helpful. The location is also perfect for weddings, parties and other events. I’d love to go back and can’t recommend it enough to anyone wishing to visit!

Beautiful restaurant with a gorgeous view of the valley below. The wait staff were attentive, kind, and polite. We enjoyed the food and the experience immensely and hope to return again someday.

The place of the restaurant is extraordinary - on the top of hill over Bergamo so the views are stunning. The tables are placed in the garden what creates magical atmosphere indeed. But that’s all. The food was realy disappointing and the prices do not reflect quality at all. We took 2 starters (melon with ham and beef tartar) and then risotto with shrimps and lamb rack. Starters were nothing special as for such highly rated place, the serving very simple and the taste so so (beef for tartar was more grated but not minced). There was only 1 shrimp in risotto and I felt like I’m eating risotto with sand - the same creaking between teeth, maybe because of sandy seafood. I left more than half as it was unpleasant to eat it :( My husband took lamb rack and it comes in the pink salt ‘coat’. The waiter unpack the dish in front of you, cuts it and serves. Again, maybe it’s a specific way to prepare meat but all these melted fat on the roasy really didn’t whet the appetite. But the meat was good - soft and juicy.

The place is a classic. The views from within and from the large outdoor gardens are as good as they come. The welcome and service are excellent. The menu is good if maybe an entry or so small in each section. The food is very good but not "great". We suspect the restaurant is resting on its laurels. I just needs to slightly up its game to match the one or two other great restaurants in town. All that said, this is probably *the* place to be on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon and evening when the weather is good. Probably a huge, yet fun, scene.

Amazing to visit! The food is really good, and the service is great. A short walk from Alta Bergamo. The view is absolutely stunning, and it is definitely worth a visit.

The menu does not change from month to month (unsual for an upmarket restaurant) and the service was poor. We gave up on ordering dessert after waiting for half and hour, and then we had to wait another half hour for coffees and check. The private parking lot was a nightmare. We will not dine there again.

The restaurant is in a small area a bit outside Bergamo Alta. The panorama from the terrace is ashtoning! Food and service are very good with choice between meat or fish. The wines proposed are also good even if the list is not huge. It deserves to be visited.

Amazing setting, fantastic view, beautiful garden. The car parking is a great feature to have in Bergamo Alta... Food quality is on par with prices, not exactly a cheap place. Sort of formal environment.

A truly beautiful place with attentive formal service. A fine view. A family dedicated to your pleasure. We had a great time. The fish in salt crust was very simple but divine.
