I was super impressed with the food, I had the fish tasting and it was excellent! I was actually surprised as a judgy foodie (yes I said it lol) I was highly surprised that the portions were so large, quite often as a tasting the portion sizes are smaller but these were actual size portions so I was so full and it was impressive! Also just wanted to add, the table next to me were loud, iPhones ringing and dinging and watching what may have been sports on them and throwing their bags and items everywhere and it was just inappropriate (later broke a glass) I gave it about 10 minutes and asked to move and the server was most accommodating and it was a quick smooth transition to a different table and I greatly appreciated this, especially when I heard soon after the sound of a glass breaking and someone going in with a broom to clean it up ugh…. Thank you!

9.5/10Mito our head waiter was very attentive, professional, timely as requested and positive. He definitely guided dinner with his service. The dinner for all was delicious. The presentation exquisite. Our group of 8 enjoyed all aspects of the time at Il Piccolo Mondo. Highly recommend them for excellent Italian cuisine.

5.5/10Through our booking, we received a 50% discount, which we did end up receiving on our check. Most of the menu items were in the 20 euro range. We were offered a fish special (not on the menu) and two of us chose it. We figured it would be in the range of other items on the menu. When we got the bill, each of the fish specials was 88 euros. We did get our 50% discount, so they ended up being 44 euros. We were so shocked that we ended up just paying the bill anyway. But, I can only believe that they jacked up the price of this menu item to compensate for the 50% discount elsewhere. It left a very very very sour taste in our mouths to feel as if we were taken advantage of.

Il nostro menù è sempre disponibile con prezzi e modalità di vendita chiaramente indicati, inclusa la specifica sul pesce venduto al peso. Prima di scrivere accuse gravi e infondate, sarebbe stato opportuno informarsi con maggiore attenzione. Le sue insinuazioni risultano offensive non solo per la proprietà, ma per tutto lo staff che lavora con serietà e trasparenza. Nessun “raggiro”: acquistare un pesce fresco di mare a 45€/kg e servirne 800g a 44€ è perfettamente coerente, e il cliente ha sempre la possibilità di scegliere una porzione a trancio, come indicato nel menu e come spieghiamo a voce a chiunque ponga una domanda. Le opinioni sono sempre ben accettate, ma solo se basate su fatti concreti e non su supposizioni. Le critiche, se costruttive e oneste, ci aiutano a migliorare. Quelle infondate, invece, rischiano solo di danneggiare ingiustamente chi lavora con passione e correttezza.

We had a great meal at Il Piccolo Mondo. We actually had a discount voucher for the food except for the tasting menus which very good . However my husband and I went for the fish tasting menu and I am so glad we did ! The food was fantastic and quite different to what I have had before . The cured seabass in cucumber as part of the starter with an octopus arancini were amazing. As was the ravioli with different cured sea food on top and a lobster/ prawn bisque- I wasn’t too keen on how it sounded but it was just amazing and the best dish ! We then had seared tuna with a sesame crust which was just perfect and all this was then followed by a deconstructed berry cheesecake. The wine was good and reasonably priced. We had a lovely lunch and will definitely go back.

2/10I am extremely angry and disappointed with the experience I had at this restaurant. The menu clearly listed the fish at €12, with no indication of weight. When you look at the menu, they make a point to tell you how fresh the fish is — But when the bill arrived, I was charged €96 for the same dish — a complete shock. To make it worse, a €41 bottle of wine that I never ordered was added to the bill. When I questioned this, the staff gave no explanation, no apology, and handled the situation with total disrespect. This is not just dishonest — it’s outrageous. I feel scammed, and I strongly advise others to avoid this place. No one should be treated this way.

4.5/10Food did not meet expectations of a supposedly top restaurant. Main course was meh and not hot, had been sitting for a while and salad was tired. Service was slow, ambience nice. Dissappointing….would not return.

Delicious food. Lovely atmosphere. Waiter was very helpful explaining food and wine menu options. Purchased Lovely bottle of Sauvignon white wine for €28 suggested by waiter. Used 50% off deal having pre booked table which made total meal price really great value. The only negative comment to make is that both main meals (veal and chicken) came out only luke warm. Need to order side of vegetables as little to no veg included within main meal options. Overall experience very good.

Lovely restaurant with nice staff but they were over stretched it seems. It was very nice for a bit until they seated a group of 18 people next to us. It was incredibly loud and obnoxious. Our server was infrequently available and hard to hail and service was very slow. The food was very good and overall it was a good meal but we could not have a conversation with our table. I know they cannot control the noise exactly but for a large group like that, they should probably seat them away from other guests.

6/10Scam Alert – Hidden Charges & Dishonest Upselling! We had an incredibly frustrating experience at this restaurant due to their dishonest pricing tricks and sneaky extra charges. When ordering pasta, the waiter casually asked if we’d like “a bit of truffle”—without mentioning that this small addition would explode the price from €16 to €45! At no point were we warned about this absurd surcharge, and we only noticed it when the bill arrived. To make matters worse, when we questioned the price, the staff avoided giving a clear answer and only admitted to it after we pressed them multiple times. This is nothing short of a scam designed to trick customers into overpaying. Adding insult to injury, they also slapped an unexpected 12% service charge on top, making the final bill even more ridiculous. With unprofessional service, deceptive pricing, and hidden fees, this place is an absolute rip-off. Avoid at all costs unless you enjoy being scammed!

10/10This is an excellent restaurant and very affordable. We went twice. Valerio, our waiter, is the epitome of the original style of waitering that made it a profession, rather than a job. Go there, you’ll love the ambience, greeting, the table service, food, the wine, the bill. Thanks Valerio, great service.

8/10Amazing food, waooo! But the level of service is far behind the food quality, the communication is not friendly at all. Privacy? I do understand income is important, but unable to talk with my partner due to the noise level as tables are super close (30-40cm) to each other reduce the culinary experince.

3/10Fairly bland food, in an absolutely freezing restaurant. Sat eating with our jackets on - after complaining several times, they offered to move table after we finished eating! After charging us full price, all the manager cared about was how to avoid us giving a bad review online. Tourist rip off.

10/10An excellent restaurant very close to Barberini. Great for ‘locals’ who want to spend a quiet evening out, but also for tourists who want to experience excellent Italian cuisine in a beautiful location. We will be back.
