2.5/10This was the worst restaurant I have eaten at in Italy in my two weeks here. My wife and I had high expectations for Piccolo as the reviews are outstanding. Our experience, however, was less than ideal. Our server did not speak to us so we thought maybe he didn’t speak English but as soon as two other tables sat, he was showing them the specials, making jokes, and ensuring their meals were delicious - in English. Each time we wanted to order, we had to call him over. We were totally ignored. The tuna tartare was not great, Bolognese was fine, Cesar salad was mediocre, and the tiramisu was store bought - nothing we would order again. Fork should not offer such high discounts to this establishment. I would not recommend anyone eat here.

2/10I booked a dinner through The Fork with a 50% discount and even called the restaurant to confirm it was valid for the whole menu, except the tasting menu and drinks. Everything seemed fine until, while waiting for our main course, a huge flying cockroach appeared in the dining room, right next to another table and then near my mother’s seat. The waiter ignored our request to move and acted as if nothing happened. We had to finish our meal tense and disgusted, afraid the insect would come back. The food was just average, nothing special. When the bill arrived, the discount was missing. The waiter and manager insisted there was no discount, blamed The Fork, and were extremely unprofessional. Only after I mentioned that I would leave a review did the manager change his tone, apply the discount and apologize. Very unpleasant from start to finish – poor hygiene, bad service and lack of respect for customers.

Gentile cliente, la ringraziamo solo parzialmente per la sua recensione. Noi non siamo responsabili di ciò che avviene sulle strade di Roma, ma solo di ciò che avviene all’interno della struttura. Con il tavolo all’esterno può capitare di vedere qualche animale in periodi ancora con caldi estivi. Per quanto riguarda invece lo sconto, come le abbiamo già accennato al ristorante, la sua prenotazione non prevedeva sconti. Questo era indicato chiaramente sia dal sito di TheFork, che dalla sua email di conferma ricevuta da TheFork. Il sistema è completamente indipendente dalle nostre volontà. Cari saluti

9.5/10I was super impressed with the food, I had the fish tasting and it was excellent! I was actually surprised as a judgy foodie (yes I said it lol) I was highly surprised that the portions were so large, quite often as a tasting the portion sizes are smaller but these were actual size portions so I was so full and it was impressive! Also just wanted to add, the table next to me were loud, iPhones ringing and dinging and watching what may have been sports on them and throwing their bags and items everywhere and it was just inappropriate (later broke a glass) I gave it about 10 minutes and asked to move and the server was most accommodating and it was a quick smooth transition to a different table and I greatly appreciated this, especially when I heard soon after the sound of a glass breaking and someone going in with a broom to clean it up ugh…. Thank you!

9.5/10Mito our head waiter was very attentive, professional, timely as requested and positive. He definitely guided dinner with his service. The dinner for all was delicious. The presentation exquisite. Our group of 8 enjoyed all aspects of the time at Il Piccolo Mondo. Highly recommend them for excellent Italian cuisine.

5.5/10Through our booking, we received a 50% discount, which we did end up receiving on our check. Most of the menu items were in the 20 euro range. We were offered a fish special (not on the menu) and two of us chose it. We figured it would be in the range of other items on the menu. When we got the bill, each of the fish specials was 88 euros. We did get our 50% discount, so they ended up being 44 euros. We were so shocked that we ended up just paying the bill anyway. But, I can only believe that they jacked up the price of this menu item to compensate for the 50% discount elsewhere. It left a very very very sour taste in our mouths to feel as if we were taken advantage of.

Prima di scrivere accuse gravi e infondate, sarebbe stato opportuno informarsi con maggiore attenzione. Le sue insinuazioni risultano offensive non solo per la proprietà, ma per tutto lo staff che lavora con serietà e trasparenza. Nessun “raggiro”: acquistare un pesce fresco di mare a 45€/kg e servirne 800g a 44€ è perfettamente coerente, e il cliente ha sempre la possibilità di scegliere una porzione a trancio, come indicato nel menu e come spieghiamo a voce a chiunque ponga una domanda. Le opinioni sono sempre ben accettate, ma solo se basate su fatti concreti e non su supposizioni. Le critiche, se costruttive e oneste, ci aiutano a migliorare. Quelle infondate, invece, rischiano solo di danneggiare ingiustamente chi lavora con passione e correttezza.
