9.5/10We ate dinner last night at this small, family owned restaurant off the beaten path. It had high reviews and accepted a reservation for 8. It was busy, but all locals from that neighborhood. Only 1 server spoke broken English. We all had a different pasta dish that was incredible. Service was insanely good, even by American standards. We drank all the wine we could drink. Probably 10 bottles total between 8 of us. The entire bill: €20 per person. You can’t eat at Applebees for that. What a treat!

10/10We discovered this fantastic authentic Italian restaurant was just around the corner from our hotel; what a gem - delicious food, lovely ambiance, friendly staff, great value. We spent two nights in Rome, and had our evening meals here on both nights. Buzzing with locals who are so lucky to have this gem on their doorstep

10/10visiting from the UK I found Il Ritrovo to be an excellent restaurant. the food was genuinely excellent, well priced and the service genuinely excellent. we visited three times in our stay. 1 mistake was made with a meal, once this was identified the meal was replaced and a discount give excellent service. The Mario's seafood pasta was superb!

10/10We were able to reserve a table 10 minutes before we wanted to eat, service was prompt and very friendly and the food was incredible and excellent value for money. The cheesecake was the best we've ever had, we will definitely be coming back.

7.5/10The food was amazing but the service was awful. We turned up 15 minutes before our booking and asked if we could have a drink and wait. The restaurant was empty and they said no and turned us away!!! We had to ask for everything and at times we felt forgotten. A real shame.

10/10Our dinner on Christmas eve, was literally the best experience we had in Rome. There was a fix menu with so many dishes, we could not eat them all. Everything was so tasty and the stuff was so polite. We left the restaurant with full hearts and stomaches. Definitely a must! P.s. such a great white house wine!

10/10Best meal in our 2 week Italian vacation! Restaurant staff are excellent - providing the Perfect balance between attention and allowing us to enjoy the time together. We shared a first course of a crab fettuccine that was world class and then had a second course of encrusted turbot with thinly sliced potatoes, and a green pepper entrecôte that was perfectly grilled. The meal was so good we are intending to repeat the experience on our last night in Rome!

10/10I went to this restaurant every day for 5 days whilst in rome. 3 takeaway 2 dining in and all was amazing. Both pizza and pasta was excellent. And although I didn't speak any Italian they were amazing and very helpful.

10/10We found the staff very friendly and the food was excellent. We went back a second night so we could all have the sea bass in a potato crust. It looked fabulous and tasted so good! The atmosphere was lovely and the food and wine were very good value.

10/10We are a family of five an had a fantastic evening at Il Ritrovo a San Giovanni. The waiters were firendly, patient and lively. They were also very helpful with suggesting courses from the menu matching our indications. The food was simple but the quality was exceptional. We had five different main courses between us. They were all fantastic. We had three different deserts that also were perfect. We found the quality to price ratio to be very attractive and the overall experience very enjoyable.

10/10We let our food and wine be decided by the recommendations of the incredibly friendly and helpful waiter. The starters and the meat accompanied by a bottle of red wine were absolutely exquisite. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone!

9.5/10Fantastic food, we tried the mouths-watering homemade pizza and pasta, yummy grilled fish and seafood and a die-for steak that was cooked as per our request rare to perfection. Staff was super attentive and friendly, the owner ensured we were happy throughout and even put the Champion League match when we enquire if possible, delighting our party of 7 (including 3 kids).

10/10Two of us had pranzo ("lunch" doesn't do it justice) on a Sunday, after making a reservation. When we arrived at the restaurant there was a sign on the door that it was full. The food, the service, the ambience were all topnotch. We ordered the two different tagliatelle dishes, the seabass encrusted in potato, the iconic artichoke alla romana and artichoke alla giudea and, for dessert, the cheesecake frutti di bosco and sorbetto al limone. Everything was delicious. We recommend this restaurant without any reservation.

10/10Birght, friendly inviting place. Like being in someone's dinning room. Lots of food options, mostly seafood. Excellent, attentive service. Would definitely recommend it to both veteran and new visitors to Rome.
