Wonderful staff, good food, quick service

When we entered we were not impressed both by the location and the menu. But after we ordered and the food came, oh mama mia! The food was delicious, the food plating was so close to premium restaurants! It was amazingly good food! Few dishes but very good!

They could have honoured our booking instead of pretending we didnt have one. The place was busy - they should have just told the truth Instead tgere was a charade of show us your booking....no no no...there is no booking. Ridiculous.

Honestly a memorable experience. Everything I like about hospitality. The food was all fresh quality stuff, the service was just extra lovely and we felt comfortable and left really full and happy!

This is a fantastic restaurant for Americans visiting this neighborhood in Rome. The food is freshly prepared, the staff provides excellent customer service and the owner is very gracious. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The food was freshly prepared, the cutomer service was excellent and the host was very gracious. The restaurant is also beautifully designed and decorated. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting this neighborhood in Rome. We had a lovely dinner here on a beautiful December evening.

+1Very kind and accommodating staff... When they were available. Full of food tour tagliere tasting groups, 2/3 of patrons. Sformatino of zucchine with Parmesan cream was delicious, as was the cut and cook of the guanciale on the carbonara. Nicely curated small wine selection, though a bit pricey. Table not ready for our reservation, but this is a small space, and they generously offered glasses of prosecco while we waited. Ricotta and porcini ravioli (5 for €23) not very strongly tasting of mushroom, and the pretty saffron cream on them was a bit low in quantity and over reduced/tacky/dry. Tagliatelle on the carbonara was overcooked. Torta Caprese had spot-on cocoa and almond taste, but was a bit dry/crumbly, came with canned whipped cream and only a slight afterthought of pistachio cream. Staff generously offered a limoncello digestivo Afterwards, but getting their attention was not particularly easy. €95 for 1 app, 2 pastas, 1 dolce, and 3 glasses of wine (2 people). A bit too hip.

Dani, Princess, Patrick and John went above and beyond to provide a wonderful dining experience for us. The food and service at this place is exceptional. I highly recommend Il Segreto!

The carbonara was delicious. We also had the grilled octopus that was so tender and tasty. It was a little loud, but I guess it is a good sign that everyone was happy! 😀. Service was impeccable. I would highly recommend

The food was impeccable. Service was great. Shoutout to the staff who went above and beyond for our family and even making sure our 1 year old feels comfortable. The bruschetta with buffalo mozzarella and carbonara were the standouts.

This was the best service we had in Rome hands down!! Our server Daniel was so attentive and kind. The food was excellent and a good portion. I could not suggest this restaurant enough! Also when one of us forgot a book, another server ran far down the block to bring it to us. Unbelievable!

Il Segreto features expertly-crafted dishes in a small, fun setting two blocks north of Vatican City’s northern wall. A wood-fired grill makes for great roasted foods (octopus was superb), and the staff is young and hip but knowledgeable and attentive. It was an oasis after several hours of walking marble floors in the nearby Vatican Museums.

one of the best meals we had in Rome, and the staff was very kind to us. i had the special, and it was excellent. i was a little nervous that our waiter was very talkative and boisterous at first (we are quieter folks, and were a bit tired for the whole song and dance), but he seemed to pick up on our vibe, calmed down, and was very helpful and sweet.

Amazing place: delicious carbonara, great tiramisu, and cheesecake with raspberry sauce, paired with good wine. The decoration is nice and simple. The staff is absolutely amazing: customer-centric, kind, friendly, funny, and genuinely interested in meeting customers' expectations. I will definitely go back there!
