Great food w very nice service but horrid setting with loud wedding party near us that ruined our night. What a waste. Place should have told us that they were fully committed rather than providing us a terrible experience. Would never expect from a supposed Michelin star establishment. Really should have given one star

Every single dish inclusively the greet fom the kitchen was perfectly coocked with the needed bite and the beloved tenderness. Harmonic taste composition included, this restaurant and kitchen is insane! A so called must go!

The staff were very attentive and the food was the best we’ve had on Lago Maggiore! We were celebrating a birthday and they gave us the best table (on the island)!

The surroundings are absolutely beautiful, but don’t make up for the mediocre food. Our four course dinner took three hours to be served to us. Originally we planned to walk around the island after dinner but couldn’t because we finished eating at 10pm, when it was already dark, even though we began eating at 7pm. We sat for so long that my back began to ache and I had to get up and stroll between courses. Luckily I could as it took about an hour for each course to be served. The food itself was mediocre, everything was served with a thick glutinous sauce that reminded me of hospital food. Some dishes were actually a cold. The dessert tasted stale and was obviously store bought and stored in the freezer. We ordered a wine pairing which they forgot to serve and we had to ask for again. The final insult was the bill at nearly 400 euros. We won’t be back.

On the 4 dish menu, two were excellent but the other two had some flaws. The sommelier spilled the wine, which didn’t help…

Top service and outstanding meal quality. Didn’t appreciate much the tip requirement as part of the billing.Would prefer to pay more for the individual dishes.

We arrived early, was shown to a lovely table and left there. Eventually we were given the wine list which was virtually thrown on the table on a tablet. We pressed something and lost it so tried to get the attention of the waiter to help. Again eventually we did but everything felt like such an effort. There were no pleasantries nothing that made us feel welcome or valued as paying customers so we left. The waiter wanted to know the problem and said “but you’ve only been waiting 10 mins” it was 20/25 but what I wanted was an apology and also not to expect to wait. We had no menu. No drink. The table next to us sat down a good 5 mins after us and had both. Very disappointed.

Fabulous view of Isola Bella & Lake Maggiore from outside terrace at south end if tiny Isola Superiore. Magical dmall lake Boat transfers available through restaurant. Perfectly prepared delicious meal. Smiling friendly impeccable service & menus in English, Italian, etc. Foods & Wines from immediate region highlighted. Go on clear day or night if possible but definitely go.

The view and the food! Wonderful awesome view on the lake and really tasty modern menu! Good service, nice atmosphere - nothing to say. Must visit!! And we were not a first time:)

+3The whole experience of fabulous food, drink and service by Bevina was outstanding. I found this place in the Michelin Guide and would highly recommend it when visiting Isola Superiore either as part of the three island tour or not.

Amazing experience and would highly, highly recommend to anyone visiting Maggiore. Beautiful restaurant in an incredible setting. The food is the best to be found in the area and the staff are exceptional. Service is perfect. We had lunch at 2.30pm and stayed on the terrace relaxing with a drink until 5pm and weren’t hurried away. Highlight of the holiday - thank you Verbano!

The food, atmosphere and service were fantastic. Beautiful way to spend our last night at Kake Maggiore. We will be back again.

We took two different multiple course menus. The only dish we really liked was dessert. Very expensive for what it was.. the most unfortunate dish was pasta with potato sauce and cubes of potatoes that were not cooked (crunchy), we were looking forward to it.

Very nice restaurant (and hotel) beautiful located on small island with spectacular view over Lago Maggiore and the mountains. Food/the menu/vine was excellent, very high quality with exquisite taste including great service. All for a reasonable price. I can sincerely recommend a visit :-)

It was a peaceful, perfect experience, again. Particularly the wine suggestion was great. the atmosphere and the views are just magnificent. The menus are now more expensive, but the quality and the refinement of the food do compensate for that.

+2We had dinner here with a group of friends to end our holiday together. The food was excellent, i had the Piemonte menu which was great. The wines that came with the optional pairing where good as well. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for the quality of the food and the service. Thank you again for your hospitality and the great food!

Excellent food….we had the fish 4 course menu….all lovely. Our waitress, Sol, was wonderful…so knowledgeable about wine and pointed us in the right direction with her recommendations. Enjoyed the idea of arriving and departing by boat, which added to the evening.

Very nicely decorated restaurant, and beautiful terrace. Some of the dishes were very good (like Lobster linguini, and Piedmont steak), some other were total misses like the fish of the day, and deserts were bad and eggy. I think they try too much in terms of making some dishes too modern...

Charming destination restaurant, excellent cuisine, ambiance and service. The best experience in Lake maggiore, and we tried all the top places. Not inexpensive, but by all means value for money.

Delicious food in a magical setting. We had a mixture of set menus (for the adults) and kids menu and it was all super tasty. The staff were great and we will definitely be back!

Everything about the experience at Il Verbano was of the utmost quality. From the service to the food, everything was impeccable. I can highly recommend this restaurant for quiet intimate dinners at some of the quiet corners, looking over the lake. It also would suit a celebratory dinner at the larger tables in the courtyard. Truly an experience worth aiming for.
