2/10We arrived early, was shown to a lovely table and left there. Eventually we were given the wine list which was virtually thrown on the table on a tablet. We pressed something and lost it so tried to get the attention of the waiter to help. Again eventually we did but everything felt like such an effort. There were no pleasantries nothing that made us feel welcome or valued as paying customers so we left. The waiter wanted to know the problem and said “but you’ve only been waiting 10 mins” it was 20/25 but what I wanted was an apology and also not to expect to wait. We had no menu. No drink. The table next to us sat down a good 5 mins after us and had both. Very disappointed.

10/10Fabulous view of Isola Bella & Lake Maggiore from outside terrace at south end if tiny Isola Superiore. Magical dmall lake Boat transfers available through restaurant. Perfectly prepared delicious meal. Smiling friendly impeccable service & menus in English, Italian, etc. Foods & Wines from immediate region highlighted. Go on clear day or night if possible but definitely go.

10/10+3The whole experience of fabulous food, drink and service by Bevina was outstanding. I found this place in the Michelin Guide and would highly recommend it when visiting Isola Superiore either as part of the three island tour or not.

10/10Amazing experience and would highly, highly recommend to anyone visiting Maggiore. Beautiful restaurant in an incredible setting. The food is the best to be found in the area and the staff are exceptional. Service is perfect. We had lunch at 2.30pm and stayed on the terrace relaxing with a drink until 5pm and weren’t hurried away. Highlight of the holiday - thank you Verbano!

4/10We took two different multiple course menus. The only dish we really liked was dessert. Very expensive for what it was.. the most unfortunate dish was pasta with potato sauce and cubes of potatoes that were not cooked (crunchy), we were looking forward to it.

10/10Very nice restaurant (and hotel) beautiful located on small island with spectacular view over Lago Maggiore and the mountains. Food/the menu/vine was excellent, very high quality with exquisite taste including great service. All for a reasonable price. I can sincerely recommend a visit :-)

10/10It was a peaceful, perfect experience, again. Particularly the wine suggestion was great. the atmosphere and the views are just magnificent. The menus are now more expensive, but the quality and the refinement of the food do compensate for that.

10/10+2We had dinner here with a group of friends to end our holiday together. The food was excellent, i had the Piemonte menu which was great. The wines that came with the optional pairing where good as well. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for the quality of the food and the service. Thank you again for your hospitality and the great food!

9/10Excellent food….we had the fish 4 course menu….all lovely. Our waitress, Sol, was wonderful…so knowledgeable about wine and pointed us in the right direction with her recommendations. Enjoyed the idea of arriving and departing by boat, which added to the evening.

7.5/10Very nicely decorated restaurant, and beautiful terrace. Some of the dishes were very good (like Lobster linguini, and Piedmont steak), some other were total misses like the fish of the day, and deserts were bad and eggy. I think they try too much in terms of making some dishes too modern...

10/10Everything about the experience at Il Verbano was of the utmost quality. From the service to the food, everything was impeccable. I can highly recommend this restaurant for quiet intimate dinners at some of the quiet corners, looking over the lake. It also would suit a celebratory dinner at the larger tables in the courtyard. Truly an experience worth aiming for.

10/10The most magical anniversary meal, in a breathtaking setting. We chose the Piedmont tasting menu, 6 courses and we selected the wine ourselves. The service was a perfect balance of attentive without being invasive. We’ll be back

10/10Ristorante Verbano has been a favorite of ours for many years. But the new management has launched it to a completely new level of excellence. We will certainly be returning, even if we have to fly 3000 miles to do so.
