The surroundings are absolutely beautiful, but don’t make up for the mediocre food. Our four course dinner took three hours to be served to us. Originally we planned to walk around the island after dinner but couldn’t because we finished eating at 10pm, when it was already dark, even though we began eating at 7pm. We sat for so long that my back began to ache and I had to get up and stroll between courses. Luckily I could as it took about an hour for each course to be served. The food itself was mediocre, everything was served with a thick glutinous sauce that reminded me of hospital food. Some dishes were actually a cold. The dessert tasted stale and was obviously store bought and stored in the freezer. We ordered a wine pairing which they forgot to serve and we had to ask for again. The final insult was the bill at nearly 400 euros. We won’t be back.

We arrived early, was shown to a lovely table and left there. Eventually we were given the wine list which was virtually thrown on the table on a tablet. We pressed something and lost it so tried to get the attention of the waiter to help. Again eventually we did but everything felt like such an effort. There were no pleasantries nothing that made us feel welcome or valued as paying customers so we left. The waiter wanted to know the problem and said “but you’ve only been waiting 10 mins” it was 20/25 but what I wanted was an apology and also not to expect to wait. We had no menu. No drink. The table next to us sat down a good 5 mins after us and had both. Very disappointed.

Fabulous view of Isola Bella & Lake Maggiore from outside terrace at south end if tiny Isola Superiore. Magical dmall lake Boat transfers available through restaurant. Perfectly prepared delicious meal. Smiling friendly impeccable service & menus in English, Italian, etc. Foods & Wines from immediate region highlighted. Go on clear day or night if possible but definitely go.

The whole experience of fabulous food, drink and service by Bevina was outstanding. I found this place in the Michelin Guide and would highly recommend it when visiting Isola Superiore either as part of the three island tour or not.

Amazing experience and would highly, highly recommend to anyone visiting Maggiore. Beautiful restaurant in an incredible setting. The food is the best to be found in the area and the staff are exceptional. Service is perfect. We had lunch at 2.30pm and stayed on the terrace relaxing with a drink until 5pm and weren’t hurried away. Highlight of the holiday - thank you Verbano!

We took two different multiple course menus. The only dish we really liked was dessert. Very expensive for what it was.. the most unfortunate dish was pasta with potato sauce and cubes of potatoes that were not cooked (crunchy), we were looking forward to it.

Very nice restaurant (and hotel) beautiful located on small island with spectacular view over Lago Maggiore and the mountains. Food/the menu/vine was excellent, very high quality with exquisite taste including great service. All for a reasonable price. I can sincerely recommend a visit :-)
