Very friendly service and really good indian food in this little family run restaurant!

The food was sooooo good. Best butter chicken I've ever had

We adored the curries, probably the best I’ve had. However the poppadoms were horrid, those cheap hard things. This spoiled the meal for me as I really look forward to a proper, light poppadom. No idea why a good restaurant would serve those “ microwave “ things passed off as baked.

We had a delicious meal at Indian Gate. The food is amazing, the staff and owners are wonderful. Friendly and helpful. If the food didn’t bring you back, the owner's loveliness would. They brought over us some homemade hot sauce for us to try, it certainly needs a warning label on, it was hotter than hot. ???? They very kindly package it up for to take home. We look forward to sharing it with the people who say they can eat any level of spice ????

Food is delicious. But expect many noisy neighbors. People were talking so loud we couldn’t hear each other. And we were seated near to the exit, so it wasn’t so pleasant. But it’s just a small thing

We stumbled across India Gate during our walk through town and returned for dinner. The food was delicious and there were plenty of vegetarian options. Service was great and the place is cozy and inviting. We would definitely recommend India Gate.

Everything Excellent !

Nice restaurant. Not busy but we did have a reservation. Attentive service. They did insist that Vinho is a sparkling wine, it’s not. The pakoras were tasty, as was the Tarka dhal and jeera rice and raita. Good solid food. Much needed after a long cold rainy day of playing tourist with jet lag.

The naan and chutneys were amazing, as was my lamb dish

This little restaurant is in the Alfama district of Lisbon and well worth a visit. Polite and courteous service -a taste of India rather than a watered down version.

Best garlic naan anywhere. Excellent curries, vindaloo, everything!! The house red and white wines are very good.

Hands down one of the best Indian restaurants in Europe. We are used to authentic Indian food and this place had everything we were looking for. Highly recommended.

India Gate is my favorite Indian restaurant in Lisbon. My partner and I have ordered takeout from there probably 10 times in the past year or so. Today, I brought a couple of friends to the restaurant for my first dine-in experience. The decor is quite nice, although having the television on with depressing news in the background is a downer while dining out. The food served was as delicious as ever. We ordered some of my favorite dishes: Chilli Chicken, Saag Paneer, Lamb Curry, Samosas, and Butter Naan. The surprise came when we received the bill. There was a fee for "condiments" that I had never been charge for before. Thinking this was an error, I asked the manager/owner about it. He said that the fee was added to help offset the $2.50/per person charge that The Fork charges him for the reservation. On principle, my friends and I found this tactic to be appalling and reprehensible. He suggested that I call directly for reservations next time. Unfortunately, for the three of us, there may not be a next time.

The food was good, and very good service. However, it does not stand out from any other Indian restaurant around. I'd be please to come back, but no excited to!

At 200 meters from the famous Praça do Comércio in Lisbon, we went to this restaurant, thanks to the notes he had obtained on the site of the fork. And we were not disappointed !! With a very courteous reception, the service was fast (but not too much), and of quality. The food was very tasty and everything we tasted was delicious, tasty, and perfectly cooked, just picked up without being too spicy (strong), entrees to exquisite dishes and cheese nans. In conclusion, we had a great time in this great Indian restaurant, all for a price quite reasonable. So, if I have only one tip to give, go there without hesitation, you will enjoy!

We had the Sag Gosh, it was good, the lamb was very good but the spinach was a bit salty. Overall I’d go back everything else was great. Prince is reasonable.

Reasonable prices, excellent service and ok selections for vegetarians. Don’t like that people can smoke in restaurant. Food was very good but no one special dish. Liked butter paneer, bhegan, and onion pakoras. Did not like raita. Seemed old.

Simple clean decor and nice table settings. Attentive and pleasant staff. Accommodated the table we preferred. Good assortment of North Indian dishes that are staple in most Indian restaurants. Smoke Goan specialties thrown in. Prices were reasonable and the flavors were excellent.
