We had a reservation for 3 at 7:30 and we arrived at 7:25. They didn’t let us in as they said they open at 7:30. It was very cold outside and we waited till they opened at 7:35. We went inside and got to sit at a large table which had to share with others. We ordered a la card and 1 bottle of water to share. The food came really fast. The dishes were very tiny, but delicious. The presentation of the food was excellent. We asked for spoons for the soup. We got only two. When we wanted to drink the soup, they already took it away. They helped to refill the water, but they refilled only 2 glasses, while we were 3. When we finished the bottle of water, they brought us a new bottle, but we didn’t order it. They opened it and refilled our glasses without us asking for it. They cleared the table really fast as if they wanted us to leave quickly. They brought us the bill without us asking for it. On the bill they charged us 2 waters. The experience was bad, it was expensive, we were not full.

Delicious Omakase. Fantastic selection of Sakes. Very kind service. Lighting and music is perfect. Make sure you book through the Fork and ask for the bar seating,. We'd booked through Google and didn't have that option, so we were randomly assigned a normal table, but the staff was kind enough to accommodate us at the bar!

This was our last dinner in Spain after a 14 vacation. We picked Jara because of it's high ratings and what we considered to be a fair price for Omakase. We arrived a little late for our 7:30 reservation. It is a small restaurant and when I checked in, the Maitre d informed me that I had mistakenly made a reservation for 2 and we are 4. Initially, he explained that the restaurant is completely full and he regretted that we would have to go elsewhere. After I explained our situation, he spoke to someone else and offered us a table that was reserved for a 9:00 party. He told us that we had to be out before 9:00, we happily accepted. When I told him that we would all get Omakase, he told me that there would not be a problem getting us out by 9. As it turned out, the 9:00 reservation canceled and we were able to enjoy our food and dessert past 9:00. The food was definitely worth it, I highly recommend Jara and am extremely grateful to the Maitre d for saving our last dinner in Barcelona!

We enjoyed the tasting menu very much and would recommend it as a perfect way to try out a restaurant. The service was excellent. We were a bit surprised that IVA (VAT) was not included in the price of the tasting menu (as is the usual procedure) - it was added on to the total.

This dining experience wasn’t exactly what we had hoped for. The food was good, though was very overpriced for what it was. It wasn’t worth the €200 bill. I grew up in California and was spoiled by excellent Japanese food, so maybe it just wasn’t up to par with those standards. The food quality was great, but the dishes were nothing spectacular. For nearly €100 each, we expected a better experience. There are plenty of other places in Barcelona you can spend this money on for similar sushi. I noted in my reservation that we were celebrating my boyfriend’s birthday. I also noted this to two of our servers and asked if we could have a special song or dessert to celebrate, which I would have happily paid for. Unfortunately the birthday was not recognized. Our experience at Jara was subpar and we won’t be returning or recommending it to others.

Clean, beautiful place. Incredible staff , well dressed, profesional and very informative on their offers. The food was excellent. If you want top of the line sushi I highly suggest you go there.

By far the best sushi we’ve ever enjoyed. Along with exquisite service and atmosphere, Johnathan and his staff were the best!! So good that we cancelled our last night in Barcelona reservation because we have to have it one more time before we go home. Thank you Jara for making our time in Barcelona so memorable. We will put your restaurant on the top of our recommendations for friends and family. We would rank you above any of the Michelin star restaurants we’ve enjoyed. You’ve earned it! John and Judy

Before it was the friendly restaurant with 7-10 seats only. But it was lovely and this place had a soul. Unfortunately the commercial approach ( many people and time mode) killed this unforgettable atmosphere. The same with their dishes. They are not unique already… So pitty…

The intimate atmosphere and the opportunity to watch the sushi chefs execute their food art made for an unforgettable evening. Easily the most delicious sushi I have ever had.

From top of the shelf food quality (o-toro, chu-toro, ...) to the all black ambiance carefully designed to maximize the focus on the live action, everything creates a special experience. Being able to watch Jara-sensei preparing one of the best nigiri I've given the chance to taste, this is true luxury. Itadakimasu!

Amazing service. We went as a couple new Year Eve and we were amazed by the quality of the products and the service. Our waitress spoke English and everything was perfectly done and explained. I have tasted a lot of sushi places in Barcelone and this one easily the best.

Amazing sushi! The tasting menu was fabulous, so good we ordered extra of two of the dishes. Coming from the states, we don’t always find great sushi, but this was one of the best sushi experiences we’ve ever had!
