We enjoyed the tasting menu very much and would recommend it as a perfect way to try out a restaurant. The service was excellent. We were a bit surprised that IVA (VAT) was not included in the price of the tasting menu (as is the usual procedure) - it was added on to the total.

This dining experience wasn’t exactly what we had hoped for. The food was good, though was very overpriced for what it was. It wasn’t worth the €200 bill. I grew up in California and was spoiled by excellent Japanese food, so maybe it just wasn’t up to par with those standards. The food quality was great, but the dishes were nothing spectacular. For nearly €100 each, we expected a better experience. There are plenty of other places in Barcelona you can spend this money on for similar sushi. I noted in my reservation that we were celebrating my boyfriend’s birthday. I also noted this to two of our servers and asked if we could have a special song or dessert to celebrate, which I would have happily paid for. Unfortunately the birthday was not recognized. Our experience at Jara was subpar and we won’t be returning or recommending it to others.

Clean, beautiful place. Incredible staff , well dressed, profesional and very informative on their offers. The food was excellent. If you want top of the line sushi I highly suggest you go there.

By far the best sushi we’ve ever enjoyed. Along with exquisite service and atmosphere, Johnathan and his staff were the best!! So good that we cancelled our last night in Barcelona reservation because we have to have it one more time before we go home. Thank you Jara for making our time in Barcelona so memorable. We will put your restaurant on the top of our recommendations for friends and family. We would rank you above any of the Michelin star restaurants we’ve enjoyed. You’ve earned it! John and Judy

Before it was the friendly restaurant with 7-10 seats only. But it was lovely and this place had a soul. Unfortunately the commercial approach ( many people and time mode) killed this unforgettable atmosphere. The same with their dishes. They are not unique already… So pitty…

From top of the shelf food quality (o-toro, chu-toro, ...) to the all black ambiance carefully designed to maximize the focus on the live action, everything creates a special experience. Being able to watch Jara-sensei preparing one of the best nigiri I've given the chance to taste, this is true luxury. Itadakimasu!
