9.5/10The primary reason for the visit was for the bœuf bourguignon, which I had heard a lot about. And it was as fantastic as advertised! But so was everything else - the artichoke hearts, the fois gras pâte, and the millefeuilles de pigeon. The wine selection was terrific and the service was extremely friendly and efficient. Our only regret was not saving room for dessert. The souffle looked amazing! We’ll definitely be back!

10/10The duck confit was excellent, the langistinos so tender, the artichokes so flavourful ... but what was unforgettable was the amuse-bouche: Gazpacho. I thought I did not like tomato soup, and I'm still dubious about it hot, but the gazpacho was absolutely *chefs-kiss* - so much so that I've resolved to learn to make the stuff. I doubt I'll get anywhere near that good, not being a trained chef, but I have to try! Also, the service, including Chef Dumonet (fils?) himself, was every bit as good as the food, and the classic outside-in-Paris-in-the-springtime atmosphere was not to be missed. Six stars, we'll be back despite it being four hours away by Eurostar.

9.5/10The atmosphère was very warm and beautiful. We started with an endive salade with blue cheese and the délectable dressing in the world! The waiter was kind enough to give us the ingrédients as I am hoping to duplicate as best as I can. My husband ordered the cassoulet. The serving was too enormous and would have been gréât if it had been offered as a demi- the waiter suggested a doggie bag, but we were walking back to our hôtel and couldn't imagine what we would do with it. I had the cote de veau Rôtie and it was delicious. We couldn't pass up dessert and ordered the tarte tatin. Unforgetable . It was pricey but worth it as it was our first trip to Paris.... I highly recommend Josephine chez dumonet.

10/10What a delight! The white asparagus and the artichoke appetizers were perfect. Our dinners of duck and boeuf bourguignon were incredible. The Napoleon we had for dessert was divine. This was, by far, the best meal we have had in our six days in Paris.

7.5/10**Warning to Tourists/Non-French Speakers - servers will try to cheat you, especially if you do not know the restaurant culture in France** I was excited to dine here. Food is great, service is the worst I experienced in France. 1. With a reservation for one, I got the worst seat in the restaurant (between the toilets and kitchen). 2. Disrespectful server: I speak French and the server kept speaking to me in English, told me I could not change the table and the restaurant was full (despite being 60% capacity during my stay). 3. I wanted only water so they brought me a 75cl bottle and charged me 9 Euro. 4. Servers just throw the plates of food on the table and walk away. 5. They bring you the bill without you asking for it (the first time it happened to me in France). 6. They write “Tips” on the bill, even though in French it’s printed “service compris” (service included). So bad it made me upset about the experience for the rest of the trip. My Parisian friends know not to go.

10/10This is our 2nd time in Paris in 4 months. We ate here in November and we couldn’t wait to come back. The duck is the best that I’ve ever had and the cassoulet is incredible. Save room for the soufflé which is light as a cloud.

9/10The food was delicious and the portions were huge I would recommend eating here, however, they tried to charge us 9 euros for tap water and wrote on the bill for tips. This let's them down as it isn't necessary. No where else did this they should stop doing it as it will give them a bad reputation

2/10This was the most disappointing meal we ate in Paris and it was on our last night there. We had high hopes for the traditional French cuisine, which turned out to be less than mediocre. We ordered stuffed morel mushrooms that arrived in a brown sauce that had no flavour. We also asked for a salad that was a pile of frisee overdressed in balsamic vinegar that cost 16 Euros. For our main courses, we ordered boeuf bourginon--it had three chunks of meat swimming in sauce, no carrots, no shallots, and no potatoes. We also ordered cassoulet--it had a tiny piece of duck, one piece of sausage, massive chunks of inedible bacon hidden in enough beans to feed a small army. The service was also terrible and the ambience lacking. The food was overpriced too. I would not recommend this restaurant at all. I can't tell you how upsetting it was for this to be our final meal in Paris. :(

8/10The service was really excellent. The fois gras was practically frozen so it was impossible to taste. The terrine was ice cold so it was flavorless. The celebrated bourgeonne and confit were beyond delicious. The souffles was extraordinary -I would go back just for the souffle

10/10Chez Dumonet remains one of Paris's great restaurants" authentic, friendly, with remarkable food and a brilliant selection of premium wines by the glass. A salad of mache with shavings of fresh black truffle; a mille feuille of fabulous rare pigeon in a potato crust; a splendid cheese course. How could one do better? Nicholas Fox Weber

7/10Joséphine chez Dumonet was recommended and we came for an authentic restaurant but straight from the beginning the service was bad. We had to wait for everything, often ignored, no great wine recommendations, had to ask to have our dishes cleared after sitting there for like 30 min with dinner complete. No check backs or check ins from the waiters. The food was good but definitely had better during our visit in Paris.

8.5/10The beef bourguignon was phenomenal - the best we’ve had in Paris or anywhere else. The grand marnier soufflé was like a cloud. Truly delicious food. And we had a stuffed mushroom appetizer that had such incredible flavor.

9.5/10+5Many of the US based restaurant lists have Josephine chez Dumonet on their list of top Bistros. The meal did not disappoint. If you come expecting a moderately priced meal you will be disappointed. If you expect excellent Bistro fare prepared and served in an elegant fashion, you will be very happy. Simple decor, kind of three sections to the restaurant. We sat next to the kitchen and got to peek in from time to time. The food was excellent from a starter of stuffed morels to John Dory and Au Bourguignon and souffle and Apple tart for dessert. expect about $90 USD sans wine per person.

4.5/10Our presence never was seem to be welcome. The menu was not explain, the wine was served in a small glass different from all other tables. The waiter was never around us snd never ask if we wanted to have another glass of wine. The order of the food was wrong. At the end they brought us the check without asking for it I had ask for a desert but the waiter was always running and did’nt hear. Then he came to say deserts were ordered at the beginning of the meal, yes it was written in the menu but a good waiter explains those rules and be patient and kind. They all were rude at the end, so we paid and left. For sure I will never go back. Paris has tons of places with excellent food and waiters that make visitors happy and welcome!

5.5/10Beef burgundy was fabulous; white fish was not good. Americans are seated at back near kitchen and toilettes. Food was hot when served and desserts were wonderful. After we were seated we waited quite a while before anyone returned to take wine order.
