8/10Really enjoyed our visit Excellent service. The food was good. I tried the pigeon - their signature dish - which was fantastic. We then shared a cassoulet, which was good but lacked the wow factor. However the people at the next table seemed to really enjoy both their dishes so maybe the cassoulet wasn’t the best choice. However I then had the soufflé - another signature dish and it was very good. The meal was good but it wasn’t cheap.

8.5/10The food is terrific but they don’t have lighter options - only one fish and it’s in butter and cream - the place is very busy so the service is inattentive and we felt by and large iirrelevant.

5.5/1019:30 reservations when the restaurant opened. They told me the signature starter dish of langoustine is not available because the restaurant is not opened on Sunday and we didn’t go to the market. So this dish will never be available on Monday. Nearly every table was asking for the langoustine. The service totally unprofessional and any acceptable service. The beef bourguignon was very tasty but was served so hot you had to wait a long time to eat at a reasonable temperature. The server introduced the dish here’s the tagliatelle for beef bourguignon. The sweet of millefeuille was exceptional with a large portion to share for two. A young lady ordered that with aghast the size of the portion and only then told it was for two people. We ordered a glass of Grand Cru each and seeing the server loading a small bottle into a machine. Very bad experience.

7.5/10The service, wine and desserts were exemplary. The shared cassoulet was good, but with the meager inclusion of one very small piece of duck to share between two people, our lunch was disappointing at best.

10/10The food here is always excellent, esp. the roasted duck leg, and even the fish. I definitely suggest reservations in advance - you will not regret it!

8.5/10We have visited Joséphine Chez Dumonet several times over the last two decades, whenever we are in Paris, and I’ve often recommended it as “my favorite restaurant in the world” for its excellent, reliable food and authentic bistro atmosphere. A quintessential Parisian experience, to me at least. So I was a bit disappointed this trip, feeling that the usually superb duck confit was below expected standards. The decor of the restaurant itself is feeling tired, too, adding to an overall sense that the place is slipping towards mediocrity. I hope that it was just a bad day, and if not, I hope this beloved restaurant takes some steps to reassert their excellence — because I haven’t given up on them and will return.

8/10It was terribly hot in the restaurant as there is no air conditioning or fan so beware on hot days. Service was off initially-slow seems like all new servers from Bangladesh, and not until the owner came out did the mood and level of service change. He was lovely and engaging. It's really a shame as the food is excellent, but the interior of the restaurant is tired and they need a higher level of service.

10/10The food is classic (stuffed morels, cassoulet, beef bourgougnon, john dory...) and absolutely delicious. The chef owner is engaging and a real showman- making for a wonderful experience!!! A must go whenever I am visiting Paris!

9/10Still a classic! We’ve been coming for years and the food and service never disappoint. Starters were wonderful — langoustine, endive with blue cheese salad, and fois gras. Delicious. The best duck confit and cassoulet in Paris. Closed out with the classic grand matinee soufflé and the millefuille. A perfect dinner!! The owner was wonderful - very present and entertaining!

7.5/10The wait staff were very accommodating. They did their best to help us cope with the heat on a very hot day but it was difficult with no air conditioning and very little breeze for even those sitting outside. We really enjoyed the Gazpacho amuse bouche, it was perfect for a hot day. We have been coming here for years whenever we visit Paris for the Confit de Canard but it wasn't the same this time, it was a bit dry and the outside wasn't crisp. It was hard to enjoy it in the heat also. The maitre d' did help me out by loaning me a personal fan for the latter part of the meal which I greatly appreciated.

6.5/10Duck confit was dry, server just provided sauce instead. Service slow for 2 entrees, people who came after us received their food first. Quite pricey for the food you get.
