10/10The food is absolutely spectacular and beautifully presented! The Chef and his team deserve Michelin Stars. I highly recommend the wine and sake pairing which splendidly accompany each dish and accentuate the experience. We are grateful to the team for their exquisite attention to detail, wonderful service, and excellent work to prepare such a wonderful culinary experience.

4/10Food is very simple what makes price absolutely not reasonable. Sushi fish selection is plane and taste all the same except toro tuna. Main complain is that you can find same experience 3 times cheaper. not worth it.

9/10Fresh fish and other ingredients.Given it is omakase, i will only focus on the sashimi and sushi parts, which are all well presented and executed. The only thing I may mentioned is, I will prefer knowing sushi set at the very beginning so I have some ideas on the sushi set, though I may give the wrong signal saying “just do it” . Hence the sushi chef just started without a summary.

5.5/10A disappointing experience with a bill of 520euros paid for four guests. Rushing us to order and finish, drinks were served after food was ordered even we asked twice for a glass of champagne, no possibility to repit a dish in the middle of dinner, and a lot of attitude and little understanding about what is a good dinner experience. I may not recommend it.

10/10We found the tasting menu an exceptional experience, all of the dishes were delicious and quite special. The wine/sake tasting was superb. The service impeccable. We highly recommend this restaurant and in particular the tasting menu. We were so impressed we have told everybody we know that they have to go.

10/10The Kappo experience is exceptional - incredible food, great service and a relaxed ambiance. I have eaten at Kappo a couple of times now and I will never view sushi the same again. Every bite is a unique experience that will leave you wondering how something so simple could be so good. Is it expensive? Yes. Is it worth every euro? Absolutely!

10/10An extraordinary, unique experience! The only criticism I have is regarding the portion sizes. Since Japanese is a very light cuisine, I feel the food on the Omakase menu is not enough to feel satiated. I was still hungry by the end!

7/10Overpriced. Small menu with limited options. No vegetales in all the menu. Repetitive food items. €70 for a 5 tiny piece portion (I believe it was 5oz) of wagyu was just way too much. I’ve had wagyu tasting that cost $100 (Japanese) and it’s much more reasonable. Good food but repetitive and overpriced.

10/10Kappo is true gem. The food is exceptional, made according to ancient Japanese preparation methods, not easy to spot even in the best establishments in Tokyo, Kyoto or Hakone. Products used for elaborate dishes are of top quality. The whole team works in perfect coordination, like samurai squad, in total silence but with seamless efficiency, thus apart from exquisite cuisine there is an additional esthetic experience. Amazing by all means.

10/10This restaurant deserves the praise it gets and then some. Anyone who eats here and does not choose the omakase tasting menu is really missing out. Similarly, you really should sit at the counter to get the full impact, being able to watch the dishes being made. Each dish is presented to you by the chef who prepared it, along with a interesting and genuinely delivered explanation of the dish. Several of my dishes were prepared and presented by Tiago Penão, the head chef and proprietor, who was very happy to answer questions, and who plainly took pride in the food being offered, and the high standards set and met. The "sushi" part of the meal (or experiences) was really mind-blowing and something I will always remember. I am from Seattle, home to a lot of really good sushi and Japanese restaurants, but Kappo is up there with the best, if not actually the best. The restaurant is small and intimate, which adds to the experience. The front of the house servers are also impeccably nice and just as genuine in seeming to want to make sure that you are happy and satisfied. The sommelier was very helpful in recommending a bottle of wine that would go with all my courses, and because I was dining solo, he let me know that I could take what was left of the wine back to my hotel if I did not finish it all. Every dish was perfection, and loved everyone of them, except for perhaps the second of the two dessert dishes, which was a beautifully toasted marshmallow that was too sweet for my tastes. But that is just me, and not at all a criticism of the dish. Definitely go to Kappo. It is divine.

9.5/10We have been visiting all One Michelin star restaurants in the Lisbon & Cascais areas, for the past 3 or 4 months. Kappo has not earned its star but it surely deserves one - more than some of ones that already holster such badge. As far as food is concerned we cannot think of a restaurant where all dishes were so balanced. We can almost still remember each one of the experiences like it was yesterday. You have about 8 experiences and some of them have 2 to 5 moments. The starter was amazing, the oister, the giant squid, the Toro, and the Nigiris, o my God, the nigiris... Food was presented very well, with great historic detail of the experiences and the flavors or techniques involved. must say irrepressible job. The food was really amazing and service at a great pace. looks were great. If we must point something that was not out of this world, but still very good, we'd say the desert experience - other than that, all a 10! Took something away from the ambiance as we sat at the balcony (the best spot) but there were some tables behind us with some loud people which took away the 10 grade . But it won't be much time before this restaurant gets it star. One word of advice for them, they could add one or two more experiences to their degustation menu, as we left with the feeling that we were not completely full, and there was room for more. They could also charge more if they did that as everything is so good that we actually think this was a cheap experience for the quality we got. Congrats!
