9.5/10The food at l’Inconnue is exquisite. The former Passage 53 sous chef expertly combines textures, temperatures, flavors, and ingredients to create truly outstanding cuisine. Hiroko’s impeccable service makes you feel right at home. I highly recommend this neighborhood gem.

10/10We loved everything about L’Inconnu: the refined dishes, rooted in Italian cuisine but cooked with Japanese precision and care, the friendly service, the beautiful dining room, cutlery and crockery and the classical music playing in the background. We hope to be back soon!

10/10The dining room was small, well-spaced, and stylish. Service was perfect. The 3-course menu included complimentary amuse-bouche of octopus in a Japanese style jelled sauce served with cutlery from the freezer (very interesting addition, never saw before), mild mackerel with a ratatouille-esque sauce, Guinea hen with an enriched stock sauce and delicious greens, a fluffy cheese cake over cherry compote and very crispy cookie crumbs, all surrounded by a crackly thin pastry wrapper, and complimentary cookies. Our server was attentive, and promptly called a taxi for us that came right away. Couldn’t ask for more!

10/10Wonderful Italian in the middle of the left bank. Started off with an amuse of cappellini, followed by a fresh salmon entree, a fish plat and a sweet peach tart. Fabulous presentation with great service.

10/10L’Inconnu is truly extraordinary- we have dined here a number of times since its opening, and each meal is a unique experience. The courses are ingenuously created and perfectly prepared, from the finest ingredients. If a diner has an allergy and alerts the chef in advance, a substitute dish is specially constructed, just as enticing. A lovely and quiet room, personal and attentive service, and always a memorable lunch or dinner.

7/10Service was tres bonne. Sweet direct simple. Unfortunately the food was extremely mediocre , uninventive, un creative, truly unfortunate, extremely mediocre.. then if if could not get worse, during our mediocrity the chef began to yell crudely at the very sweet, helpful service staff from the kitchen so loudly that the clients were embarrassed. We were all looking around sadly because she has been the best part of the evening and unfortunately understood enough of what He was saying that he was blaming his stress on her. It was an awful evening, thanks to an awful chef.

10/10What a revelation! Every bite of the dégustation was exquisite. An amazing balance of flavors and forward-thinking ideas without being pretentious. Absolutely delicious experience, and we will be back. This chef (and his excellent staff) are headed for a well-deserved étoile in the future if tonight’s dinner was any indication. Bravo and merci!

9.5/10We had a fantastic lunch at the inconnu, lof of creativity and an outstanding execution - the mix of italian and japanese influences is a small miracle. The wine list is very rich and we had a great Brunelo de Montalcino that was just perfect with the lunch.

8/10Not bad if you like seafood in Italian style, Most dishes are cold or lukewarm. The chef tries his best to maximize the flavor of each ingredient. The wine pairing is average but not exciting. The atmosphere is very nice as the music is all about Chopin piano works. However, the restroom’s stool has very loud flushing sounds which affects the dining mood, especially for customers sitting in front of it.
